(if you don't know what the title means, scroll down)

Just checking here if any RPGDLers intend to join the novelling craze. 1,600 words or so a day sounds like madness to me, and yet I insist on joining every year. I must be mad.

I've no real idea what I'm going to write, ahaha... ha... one day before NaNo begins even. orz All I know is that I want it to be something positively cheerful.

So, anyone here joining? ANY CHEERING ON and EMOING OUT to have out here?

--->

NaNoWriMo is the abbreviation for (inter)National Novel Writing Month, an American initiative wherein aspiring writers and novelists (or just crazy hobbyists) try to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. It starts every November, and is organised pretty well at http://www.nanowrimo.org/ where you can also get more information. It has a word count tool etc etc, and they provide advice on what to do with your novel from the first of December onward.

It's pretty fun if you have the time, and even if you won't make 50,000 words, you can always finish what you started after November and try to complete it.

I was going to do it, then November started giving me anxiety attacks so probably not.

You know, for University students, it really is a shit month for this kind of thing.  Towards the end of a semester?  Boo.

Here's hoping nothing distracts me from turning in my project like last year.

Oh man, that sounds epic. I would totally join, if I had enough time. As it stands, school and friends have more or less devoured close to all the time I have left any more. End of terms means it'll only get more hectic from here on, too.

But it sounds fun, and I wish you the best with that Bard. =)

I'm in! Participated since 2001, never yet won. School DOES suck in November, which is what I'm going to blame.

Just working now, though, and I've scheduled a weekly "write-in" with another local author, so... this year's the year?

I'm throwin' in. Planned to start last year but never took off. I'll probably be doing most of my writing on Tuesday and Thursday to boot, so if I can knock out 3000 or 4000 words on those days I'll be looking good.

Still not likely to finish though...

I usually don't finish either. :P Christmas coming up and my birthday pops up RIGHT after deadline, and usually it goes coupled with all sorts of Bard Emo and Rage periods. Doesn't look much like this year'll differ, but hey, you won't know until you try!

I would, but school. Hopefully next year, though. I really want to take part.

Some people live innocent lives, far away from such notions of lusting after man-servants tending to your 'personal needs', Jo'ou. Some of us have merry, joyful lives because the world is good and pure and loving.

And some of us aren't on drugs.  Granted I don't know who but there's bound to be someone.

I'll definitely win that cabana boy.

I'll definitely win that cabana boy.

If you value good, purity and love so much, at least bothering to find out what a cabana boy is before hopping mouth first into its goods would be a naturally advisable procedure, mmmm?

The world is peaceful, good, and loving?  The whole of the Netherlands must be awash in some very potent happy drugs, man.

I am going to have to defend Andy on this fact.  Cabana Boy Andy is entirely made up of good, purity and love.

I'll be attempting to participate, though I foresee myself getting hung up on the first chapter due to me being anal retentive when it comes to how I start my writings, we'll see though!
