Glorious IntSys
Added Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. at 7/10. I feel like I should like this game a bit more than I do, hence its somewhat awkward placement as the bottom 7, the tiebreak for it versus 6 has more to do with my objective feelings on the game. Definitely a game I need to replay as I feel it might benefit from that? We'll see.
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones up to 9/10
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance down to 8/10
So after playing/watching all four of the my favourite FE games (7-10) over the past few months, it's given me a good chance to analyse them against each other. FE10's the best, we all know that. 8 vs. 9 is interesting. When I first played FE8 I was a bit disappointed especially by the lategame of NM because the promoted enemies are either bugged or deliberately horrible (probably the former) which leads to a stomping which just isn't much fun. But these days I always play it on HM, and it's a great game there. Compared to FE9, it has better challenge (again, HM), stronger overall writing (not having Ashnard ftw!), a better shop system (second only to FE10 for best in the series), more polish (things like showing how close you are to weapon ranks), the ability to turn off animations, branching promotions, and two routes. FE9's main advantages are the far better support system, not having the aforementioned thing about NM enemies, fixed mode I guess, and better humour, but weighed against all FE8's advantages that really doesn't seem like much these days. Especially since you don't need to play FE8 NM if you don't want to!
FE7 vs. FE8 is very close to me and I can see going either way there, I won't get into all the details but I do prefer 7 slightly (biggest reason is ranked FE7 gameplay is a terrific in-game challenge, yes I've long since accepted that I'm weird and the only DLer who cares about this). FE10 > both > FE9.
Also I could add Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, but I'm both not done it and for some reason I haven't ever added Pokemon remakes to these before (or many other remakes) so probably won't start now.
