Metric - Succexy

This ain't changing my perception of music like the Talking Heads and Cocteau Twins did, but it sure is a -ton of fun-. This is New Wave modernized for the 2000s. Alternatively, this band is what Husky Rescue wished it was, but never really pulled off.

Korn - Got The Life.

Man I know people tend to come back to some of the stuff they listen to in High school and kind of eye roll, I know I have certainly done so. Korn in general are very hit and miss, but if you were born in the mid 80s and didn't get totally sucked in by this particular song then I have no idea what to do with you. It is still rocks pretty stupidly hard.

Coincidentally their newest album is a gigantic pile of shit.

You also trend towards liking clean clear music, which Nu Metal crap most definitely isn't and you would be old enough to know better than a high school student when they came out. But seriously? Go check that specific song out again, the drum line and guitar under they layers of uh I THINK it is a loop pedal effect is pretty damned catchy.

Sarah Blasko - Amazing Things.

So yeah I am way late on the train of What the Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have, but I picked up her new album before I flew over to the US and it was good and stuff. So much to belated Sarah Blasko hype goes here. Now if only I had been embracing folk so wholely back in 2006 when it came out. That was after I had fallen in love with Tom Waits, so I really should have got my head out of my arse and just enjoyed this when it was new and playing on Triple J all the time.

Apocalyptica: Broken Pieces

Instrumental tracks continue to be > vocal tracks. The band just sounds like they're having more fun when they don't have to stick to pop song format (singer takes melody and everyone else plays chords) and play the background role.
