http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=128683Extremely interesting article on creative process and design, focused on game modding (specifically Starcraft) but a lot of what is said is generalizable to other pursuits. I don't agree with everything the guy says on process (in fact I probably disagree with more than I agree with him on) but it's a good read and viewpoint nonetheless.
http://www.youtube.com/user/FewdiodotcomA troupe producing short horror films (and a few horror-comedies), lengths usually around 2, 5 or 10 minutes. They haven't done anything new in a year or two but were very critically acclaimed when active. A few fall flat but things like
this pack more and better horror into 90 seconds than most full length films achieve in 90 minutes.
http://www.antipope.org/charlie/blog-static/fiction/online-fiction-by-charles-stro.htmlCharles Stross's blog, wherein he links many of his stories. If you don't know who Charles Stross is, go there and read everything, he is an amazing writer. If you do know who he is, go there and reread everything anyway. He writes science fiction (wherein he's been nominated for Hugo awards in multiple categories and often multiple times in the same category every year since 2005 and many prior and etc), fantasy (wherein he designed good chunks of D&D mythology like Death Knights, Slaad, and Spelljammer stuff),
Cthulhu mythos spy stories and more. Much of the best of which he has made freely available to read online, following links from the page I have just directed you to. But surely you know that already because you are already there and reading them all.
