Sporcle has posted a 90-track video game music test. Have fun.

I got 38 out of 90, which...isn't bad, I guess. Naturally, I'm kicking myself for missing several that I should have known.

Can't do that quiz at work cause the sound doesn't work here, but yeah...this site is great to waste time!

That link is an amazing read. He does a very good job of telling his story and it isn't too long. Hope he has luck getting back on his feet.

@ Gothamist link:

Candida Fink is onto something, but is clearly ignoring the participatory relationship between willing mothers and daughters in pageant competitions like this. Don't instantly revert to the easy prepubescent fantasies males may have. Let's examine the mothers' thought process and how it influences their daughters in the same vein.

Cool as the concept may be, I doubt that hack exists for practical reasons.  Store every single pokemon you ever kill?  Memory resources are finite.  Even limiting this to only trainer pokemon and trainers (doable since finite) you still need a place to store 2-7 new bits for every trainer encounter, which would be a significant memory restructuring.  (Doable if you build it from scratch, but as a hack...?)  Anyway...

Bonus points for that last link for the first comment being wrong about Bowcasters.

They're too busy wondering why all their tech looks suspiciously from the 1980's in 3025's to be surfing the internet anyway.

Since Neil Gaiman is the flavor of the month for the Books topic, here is what happened when he and Todd MacFarlane got into a legal battle over the issues of "Spawn" that Gaiman wrote: A judge had to issue a ruling that includes a detailed legal opinion on how often, in official Spawn canon, the demon Maelbogia sends a new Hellspawn to Earth, and whether Spawn #9 creates a plot hole with regard to that rule.

Seriously.

Edit: The judge is also better at coming up with superhero origins than Todd MacFarlane.

Quote from: The Hon. Barbara Crabb
If [McFarlane] really wanted to differentiate the new Hellspawn, why not make him a Portuguese explorer in the 16th century; an officer of the Royal Navy in the 18th century, an idealistic recruit of Simon Bolivar in the 19th century, a companion of Odysseus on his voyages, a Roman gladiator, a younger brother of Emperor Nakamikado in the early 18th century, a Spanish conquistador, an aristocrat in the Qing dynasty, an American Indian warrior or a member of the court of Queen Elizabeth I?

Luckily for everyone's childhoods, the New Scientist article implies that it's Torosaurus that was never its own species, and it's going to be reclassified as "adult triceratops."

The word 'torosaurus' conjures nothing but images of totoro crossed with a triceratops for me.

More details about Criminal Girls are leaking out. Brace yourself this is about to get bizarre. The tagline is a girls punishing RPG. Players can punish girls by spanking them, locking them up, and giving healing massages. Hell in this game is an actual place and these “punishments” are designed to help the girls move back into the real world. The seven girls (Kisaragi, Arisu, and Tomoe were revealed) embody different deadly sins. Kisaragi, for example, represents greed. Arisu is pride.
