1. What is your current favorite outfit?
I uh... don't... have one really? I don't care enough about what I'm wearing to call anything favorite. It just needs to be (mostly) clean and comfortable.
2. What are the five websites you spend the most time at, besides the DL? (Just a board/site name if you want to keep the URL private)
Hm... come to think of it, I think there's just my usual entertainment circle. So, in order of update frequency
Cracked
Penny Arcade
Dr. McNinja
Darths and Droids
xkcd
3. What are you doing this summer? Is it any different then what you usually do?
*shrug* Work. Sleep. DLCon.
4. Would you favor a change to your national election system?
The electoral college can probably stay. Everything else needs to go. IN particular.
- Dissolve the Republican Party. Dissolve the Democratic Party. If we MUST have political parties (and, alas, people would just form new ones left to their own devices), there shall be at least three. Something along the lines of Conservative, Liberal-Democrat, Progressive. There's to key points here. The first is that a two party, A or B, black or white, yes or no system is exacerbating an increasingly retarded political divide in the country. There's enough going wrong in around here without making intelligent, reasoned political discourse increasingly impossible. Second, due to there being only two parties with any measure of success, there is no incentive towards compromise and leadership in the government. If your party isn't in power, just bitch and moan and stir shit and sit on your ass and do everything in your power to halt any real governing, and bam, the other guys take all the blame for doing nothing and you're back in power.
- Ban political ads. All of these words are critical. All forms of paid advertisement for particular political candidates need to go. Now. Not banned would be any direct interviews of candidates (since of course, this is a chance for a guided discussion of your views. We want your views. We don't want a saturation of goddamned mudslinging), breakdowns of various policies by multiple candidates, televised debates, that sort of thing. In other words, political candidates should no longer be deciding the facts. The facts will be ferreted out by those who do so professionally.
- While I like the idea of the Senate (having a place where states besides California and Texas matter), as long as they have the filibuster, they can go. Given my current mood, I'm not sure which deserves more fire.
And now, some bitter ranting suggestions. I'm not sure how much I mean these, so they will be in small text. I will not be responding to any comments on these two, should that happen.
-Kick Texas out of the union. Your board of education? Fuck it and fuck all of you who created it. Die in a fucking fire.
- Relatedly, when we dissolve the two parties, the general idea would be turning the sane Republicans and the blue dogs into the new conservative party. The insane republicans have a choice. They can be exiled to North Mexico (fka Texas) and merrily have their little theocracy, or they can be exiled to North Korea, and see an actual psychotic tyrant in action. Either way really.
5. How important a factor is climate/the weather in where you live?
Hate winter so much. Need to move. Hate life. (/emo)
6. What is the last book you read? What is the current book you're reading, if anything?
Gosh. I'm not sure what the last new book I finished was. I know I reread I, Jedi a few times just for kicks, but that's not the same. I've been plugging through the Silmarillion lately. 'salright.
7. Do you own a computer? If so, what brand/model is it? Do you like your computer?
Picked up a Compaq Presario at the start of this year. Best computer I've ever had!
8. What is your favorite fighting game? Your favorite FPS game?
Smash. Probably Brawl>Melee? I liked Young Link, so Toon Link is like that but funner, which is good.
n/a. The only FPS I've played to completion (or even in any significant way) is Dark Forces. Which involved infinite cheating. And I wouldn't really call it a good enough game to 'favorite', though I'm sure it wins by default.
9. Do you gamble at all? If so, how much do you gamble?
I spend about $4-6 a week on Mega Millions/Power Ball. It's something to do.
10. What is the best entertainment purchase you've made in the last year?
Hm. Past 12 months... gives us Heart Gold, Buffy 1-3, and 360 (ToV, KotOR) for significant stuff. I think ToV wins there, I wanted to play that for AGES and it didn't disappoint.
11. Do you play PC games much at all?
Nope.
12. Do you consider yourself addicted to the internet? Could you go without the 'net for a couple of weeks and not miss it?
I would not, if only because frankly the term 'addict' is overused for psychological applications. That and my own webbrowsing lacks some of the markers for true addiction as I understand them, despite fairly obviously spending "too much" time on the computer. That said, not being online for more than a week would be troublesome, it'd feel distressingly like being locked up in a remote cabin for the same amount of time. Cut off from the world.
13. Did you play board games growing up? Which ones did you play if you did?
A little of most of the classics. But mostly Risk.
14. Do you have a good relationship with your siblings? If you're a single child, would you want siblings?
Well. The middle sister, how do you define good there? I mostly try to ignore her these days, I'm completely burned out on trying to be an authority figure there.
Younger sister, we get along quite well these days I suppose. Probably the only person I talk to openly these days, as opposed to continual filtering of thoughts and biting of tongue.
15. How many of your friends/family smoke? Do you smoke?
none of my friends smoked. All my coworkers do of course. Most of my family has, at one point or another, smoked, but my dad quite about ten years back, my sister a couple years ago (presumably for the obvious reason), so nowadays it's just my mom smokes. I never picked it up, although what with the bar I may as well have been I suppose?
