Philia's not a witch, but she's pretty handy with a blade. Squishy wizarding types, like Arche, may be deluded into thinking that they have a shot against her in the field of magic, but that's where the 'hit people hard with sharp things' part comes in. Sure, Arche has instant death....but a sword through the gut brings death fast enough, wouldn't you agree? The fact is that besides Distortion Arche is extremely frail and vulnerable, while Philia at least can take a couple hits. So Arche can go ahead and try to cast...but that leaves her wide open to anything Philia cares to throw at her. Elemental resistances only get you so far, and Arche will fall long before instant death can take effect. Arche seems nice enough, supposed perversion aside, but there can be only one Middle Champion, and Philia is going to make sure that it's her!
