We've had various incarnations of this topic over the years, measuring how much you like a game's cast/what'd you rank from the game/how much you respect the duellers, etc. Well, we haven't had one of these in a while so I figured I'd restart the topic to give us something to talk about during the downtime. Archived topics are listed above. Feel free to bump up and vote on older topics.

The story of Lunar:SSSC's always been Ghaleon. Others have came and champed, but his constant success in Godlike rivals that of Sephiroth or Fou-Lu. He's also.. ahem... suffered the indignties of fame in several story arcs. His wenches have also done well, with Royce and Xenobia both capturing Heavy titles.

AtL4's a story of wasted potential. Ranked orginially back in the Invisionfree (Season 4ish, fall 2003) days, it's had more than it's fair share of chances at success. It's usually been met with very poor drawing and not much in the way of success stories. With it's much reduced cast size, it's a shell of what it used to be in the DL.

A character you'd like to see added to the game: NA. There's nothing else to really rank.
A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: Hell Mel is before 85% of the DL's time and never had a match, Barring that.. probably just Tempest, the other two temps are fine for me.

Any other notes/thoughts about the game?- I don't care even slightly about this game, only than usually snickering at Nash's latest horrendous draw.

Favorite dueller: I don't think I ever nommed anyone from this game besides Darkham, so.. Darkham. Wait, may have nommed Ganz once? Can't remember. Bah. Sticking with Darkham.
Least favorite dueller: Kharg, a thousand times over. Big Whale hype can die.

Strongest dueller: ..Darkham? Droguza? I really don't know, neither are worth too much and the PC cast is a blur now.
Weakest dueller: Delma I think.

Favorite moment in the DL with this game: NA.
Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: Darkham downgrading to MIDDLE. What a way to end this game's pathetic run.

A character you'd like to see added to the game: NA.
A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: Full retirement. The game never really got out of the gate in the DL and has done nothing since to really impress me.


Any other notes/thoughts about the game?

AtL4's always been bad even going back to the early seasons, Maru (Good heavy with a lot of hype) lost to Jr early on.. yeah. It never really amounted to anything outside of Kharg hype. It should have been purged after Paulette pulled down a sub 40% total, but.. eh. Whatever.

It's never had bad internal either. Just.. never caught on and was widely disliked. Bad mix.

Favorite dueller: Jessica. Alex, Nash, Royce... this game has lots of good, fairly interesting duelists, who do what they do well and generally nothing else.
Least favorite dueller: Ghaleon's obnoxious sometimes, with his endless wins, but interesting enough.

Strongest dueller: Apart from Ghaleon? Royce, I suppose.
Weakest dueller: Ramus! Awesome Puny!

Favorite moment in the DL with this game: Always a fun game to see, the characters are pretty memorable. Ghaleon's latest title was kind of exciting.
Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: Ghaleon's latest title was also still a bit obnoxious...

A character you'd like to see added to the game: Rank EvilLuna!>_<
A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: Pretty well ranked, Tempest isn't offensive enough to boot him, and he's pretty memorable.

Any other notes/thoughts about the game? Game feels like a staple RPG, it suits the DL, and has a middle-ing draw.

Favorite dueller: Bebedora, the only character from the game who I enjoyed. Though Paulette was fun to use, she's kind of a boring duelist.
Least favorite dueller: uh...

Weakest dueller: don't really know here...

Favorite moment in the DL with this game: This game has moments in the DL?
Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: Uh....

A character you'd like to see added to the game: The game has been gutted down to 3 cast members, the 3 most memorable I assume? Sounds good to me.
A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: Though it wouldn't hurt my feelings to ditch it entirely, it's nice having lots of games represented, even if by a FW-sized ranked.

Any other notes/thoughts about the game? A 3-person rank is hardly offensive, the game's not outstanding, and the DL wouldn't suffer from some AtL4 hype on these 3 characters. I don't see it happening, but it's not the worst thing imaginable. The game's nice enough to look at, but horribly generic and without the flash that WD put into AtL1/2 to make AtL2 bearable.

Next games? Lufia2 and Golden Sun?

Least favorite dueller: Ghaleon.  Translates annoyingly powerful into the DL

Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: Ghaleon's most annoying title, whichever it was

Pretty much a fun game.  Ghaleon wasn't too hard in game and becomes evil in DL, but he's also not the only one who is guilty of this.  (See any FF boss.)

Favorite dueller: Mmm...tough.  I love Ghaleon and Nash to death.  I'll go with Ghaleon.
Least favorite dueller: Eh...Kyle?  He's the most boring, I guess.

Strongest dueller: Ghaleon.  If he doesn't count, then Royce or Xenobia.  Both are pretty close.
Weakest dueller: Ramus, but we love him anyway.

Favorite moment in the DL with this game: Ghaleon's championships, particularly when he beats people he damn well deserves to (goooooo Necrosaro slayer!).
Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: Nash never getting a break ;_;

A character you'd like to see added to the game: Laike.  Really important to the game, have trouble with him gone.
A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: Uh...none.  Works well.

Any other notes/thoughts about the game?
I love this game to death, even in the DL.  Just...such fun in all regards.  10/10.

Favorite dueller: Tatjana.  I like Cree Summer, what can I say >_>  Of the ranked...Kharg.
Least favorite dueller: Camellia?  She was fairly sucky in-game, and ends up...relying on the status in the DL.  Of the ranked...Bebedora?

Strongest dueller: Droguza, though he's not ranked.  Of the ranked...Kharg.
Weakest dueller: Mmm...not easy.  Probably say Delma overall.  Of the ranked...Bebedora?  Darc and Kharg have their summons, at least.

Favorite moment in the DL with this game: Kharg getting respect...kind of.
Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: ...it being booted >_>

A character you'd like to see added to the game: All the missing ones!  Darkham, Droguza, the PCs, Samson, Densimo.
A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: Mmm...does this even matter?


Any other notes/thoughts about the game?
I love the game, and love it in the DL.  9/10.  Characters have lots of variety and some neat tricks, which is cool in my book.

Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: The booting, for all that it was really rightful for Droguza. He just couldn't ever win.

The game has cool duellers, but it just didn't function very well in the DL.

Favorite dueler: Alex. Well rounded dueler whose good for reasons he was in game for the most part.
Least favorite dueler: Royce. Firebird kind of hits me the wrong way.  This one is mostly a "by default" thing, mind, since I don't really have strong opinions.

Strongest dueler: Ghaleon. One of the strongest Godlikes around.
Weakest dueler: Ramus. No real contest.

Favorite moment in the DL with this game: Alex beating Cress.  If only for the fact that it was enough to prove that ToP hype was stoppable or something.  Honorable Mention to Magic Girl Ghaleon, of course.
Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: Royce beating Terra.  Yes, it was fair, but I still didn't like it (and it was pretty much pure Firebird *shakes fist*)

A character you'd like to see added to the game: None offhand; well ranked game.
A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: Laike and Tempest mainly.  Tempest is a forgettable PC, and Laike = ARGH SCALING ISSUES HATE! and neither are exactly very interesting.

Any other notes/thoughts about the game?

Neat enough cast for the DL, both for write ups and for dueling worth.

Favorite dueler: Uh...Maru, I guess? Varied dueler and such.  At least when he was ranked.
Least favorite dueler: Bebedora. Bland dueler, and the fact that she's still ranked is outright offensive.

Strongest dueler: Probably Droguza.  The Speed + Damage combo on Nonfail durability stands out.
Weakest dueler: Volk or Ganz, I guess.

Favorite moment in the DL with this game: None offhand.
Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: Bebedora getting through the booting process based on some vague "keep her in!" statements that were mostly asides.

A character you'd like to see added to the game: None.
A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: The entire cast barring Darc and Kharg <_<?

Other Thoughts:
Game has some nice duelers and they're varied, but the numbers just don't do it justice, and more than offset any sort of interest they can have.

Favorite dueller: One of the bosses, probably. Royce? It's strange I like the bosses as much as I do (I dislike the characters), but they were all good, reasonably unique fights, and have neat DL translations (good power and tricks but soooo sloooow).
Least favorite dueller: Tempest. Laike while he was ranked. Blah temps with middling relevance / scaling issues.

Strongest dueller: Ghaleon.
Weakest dueller: Ramus. Well, those were hard decisions.

Favorite moment in the DL with this game: Xenobia beating Jecht was cool. Royce chewing through Season 1 is something I remember fondly. We ranked her Heavy?
Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: Nash's eternally horrible luck.

A character you'd like to see added to the game: None.
A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: Tempest. Luna and Ramus have oodles of plot. Tempest has nothing.

Any other notes/thoughts about the game? It's been a pretty solid entry in most regards. The duellers have all captured attention in various ways (Jess and Kyle less so). Thumbs up. One of the games I like most in the DL relative to my opinion of the game itself (which is yawn).

Strongest dueller: Droguza while he was still ranked? Now, Kharg. Despite Big Owl almost certainly being illegal to me.
Weakest dueller: Oh I dunno. I've not looked closely enough at the scrubbier duellers. Delma or Volk?

Favorite moment in the DL with this game: Droguza hype coming back to earth.
Least favorite moment in the DL with this game: Bebedora surviving the culling, largely because it was something I almost didn't catch. Very embarrassing for me.

A character you wouldn't have ranked from this game: Any of 'em. For lone FW representatives, Darc/Kharg and their summon nonsense (booo Big Owl, booo anything that gets disabled in the final battle of an RPG like that) are pretty terrible.
