Finding balance between my standard laziness, my shameful procrastination in beating new games, and a possibly self-destructive desire to run a tourney, I've decided to return to a previous idea, the Futurama Fan Favorite format. There'll be some changes, so we can skip the cutting and pasting and get right into new rules.
This is a Noms Topic. So, once you finish reading this, you post ideas. These ideas should follow these restrictions.
1. Nom specific characters from unranked games. These characters should include the full character name and game of origin.
2. Please nom two characters for each division. That is, noms should be in a format such as
Godlike- Belial (Wild ARMs 4), Cecilia Lynn Adlehyde (Wild ARMs)
Heavy- Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII), Ragnar Blitz Lebrett (Wild ARMS XF)
etc.
If you cannot think of 8 characters to nom, that's fine, but do strive to do so.
3. I reserve the right to discount noms for reasons such as blatant misranking, obscurity, failing CK's patented RPG qualifications, and because your mom didn't send me a Christmas card. Assuming a nom isn't discounted, however, this will more or less be a first come, first serve affair.
4. Only the first two characters from a specific game will be used.. So, for example, if Meeplelard noms Dheginsea and Elincia from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, then Dark Holy Elf could not then nom Micaiah from the same game (well, he could, but she wouldn't get in). For this reason, it'd be best if you didn't nom multiple characters from a specific game, but if you want to be a jerk that's your prerogative.
5. These noms will be used to fill the left side of the bracket, which will be updated in this post as it's completed. The right side will be filled out by me in the usual manner, picking ranked duellers based on draw power, how closely they match with their opponent (or, rather, how closely I think they do at the time) and when the situation allows for humor value. Feel free to suggest opponents for you noms if you're so inspired, but I make no promises on whether I'll use them or not.
6. Please do not nom characters from the following games: Final Fantasy XIII, Pokémon, Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny, Soul Nomad & The World Eaters. These four games already have a slot filled by myself (as you'll see below) and I think 1 is plenty for them.
And that'll do it, I think. Bracket will be in somewhat shrunken text for the sake of space. Once it's filled, I'll probably end up rearranging it to minimize vote blackouts, but the general idea will stay the same.
