Ashton vs Rauny Vinzalf- Ashton can't resist thunder. He *can* 2HKO Rauny, but that requires not using the Melfula. He *can* avoid a 2HKO, but he needs the Melfula's HP bonus for that. Sooo yeah, he's boned.

Ulrika Mulberry vs Rauny Vinzalf - Horrendously accurate Silence does Rauny in. The physical ends up getting owned by Healing Echo, of all things, and Ulrika gets plenty of leeway to land her other status.
Ulrika Mulberry vs Cid Highwind - Right, undersold Intent to Destroy damage a bit. Hammer+ItD should chip Cid just fine.
Ulrika Mulberry vs Cecile - Same for Cecile, with the added insult of Cannonball kinda being good at screwing Cecile over with Slow where it was useless against Cid. Cecile would have to 2HKO Ulrika here.

According to the stat topic, the Melufa's damage is still a 2HKO to average. 29840 (14920 x 2) damage to a 28887 kill point? Unless Rauny's 2% physical resist offsets it enough? Evade I can see offsetting it, but if Ashton's using the Melufa, he gets more evade too. I can't remember if OB spells were subject to evasion, but SO2 characters could certainly dodge spells. Leaning Ashton for now.

OB spells are subject to evasion, but Ashton himself can't dodge magic - unless you're hyping complete trash like Fireball setting a precedent, which I'd heartily laugh at against almost any endgame-worthy spell attack. Like four spells, and very much low-level ones, out of a set of dozens, even can be dodged in SO2, and I'd hardly call Rauny's Lightning low-level - hell, it's even MT, and SO2 characters can't dodge MT spells in-game, setting a precedent against -that- if you're going to be choosy. I could see dodgeeable hype for SO3 spells (probably do, but I only allow people who -can- dodge magic in-game to dodge spells in the DL). SO2... nope. Also, Rauny is faster and pretty evasive, and Ashton's inaccurate. Rauny's turning that 2HKO into a 3HKO without much hitch.

Well, SO2 PCs have an evasion stat. I was under the impression it worked against all skills that weren't specifically ITE (though clearly most spells are ITE)? Hmm... are there any KMs that are ITE?

Is Rauny's Lightning full MT? I guess that's as good a division as any. Since there are no full MT SO2 spells that aren't ITE, I can buy that.

SO2 PC's can't evade magic. The 'magic' you can evade functions like a physical (Most SO2 magic pauses the screen, even the ST stuff) That said, Rauny is accurate and her magic is MT.
