Either works.  I think hearing Niu declare that he is king and you know it would also be pretty good comedy.

Counterargument:  Niu's hot, and you're not, CK.  But if you want to be with him then he'll give it one shot.  Top that.

A sudden calm came over me while reading a Zurier article about The Masses. I think about my decision in majoring in History, then opting for Art History and resulting in fashioning myself as an Americanist as a great synthesis I would never give my younger self credit for.

I also promise to have my shit done before Friday, inasmuch where I won't be burdened from a MOMA trip this Saturday.

I'm feeling a teensy bit crazy over this company restructuring nonsense. Just finished round... uh... 2, I guess, of the latest meetings. (Round 5 if you're keeping track of my company's downward spiral in the home game.) Consensus: don't ask 15 people from different departments to agree on what is most important for the company as a whole.

I'm still in a very weird spot in the middle of all this. No idea where I "fit in" to the new company. Supposedly we'll have a new org chart within the next couple weeks. It's been, what, two months since I had that promising conversation with the CEO?

The Good: 10th anniversary was on saturday. Spending the weekend being giant nerds playing DnD was what happened, and it was good times.

The Bad: Jenna being very sick for said anniversary. ;_;

The Ugly: Jenna being sick enough to miss work Mon and Tues, then having to go in regardless today despite still feeling like shit.

Curious that something's been going around the whole Bay Area.

... wait, no, school's back in session. Makes sense.

Hope Jenna feels better soon. That's a lame way to spend your anniversary. :(

. . . . . .
*facedesk*

Based on this experimental/re-structuring hooha @ said job, it would be especially crummy should they not fit you in anywhere. Sounds like this has been going on, so I hope you reap something awesome from presumably being dragged along some indeterminate pathway.

Re: Gatewalker: 10th anniversary!? Holy crap! Congratulations! Here's to making her chicken soup (unless she's vegetarian or something) for your 11th if she's sick. I obviously hope she doesn't stay sick til then. ^^;

I'm 99.9% sure I'll still have a job at the end of this. I just have no idea what it will be. While much of the rest of the company is obvious -- the web person will stay the web person, the product managers will manage product, the accountant will do accounting -- my already nebulous job is increasingly undefined. They're using the hell out of me, as I'm doing everything from compiling reports for the COO and CEO to preparing the presentations for the company meetings to aiding in the search for a new branding company to managing the mailing lists... but no clue on title/salary/etc and what department I'll be in.

Simply maddening. Clarity required!

Cleared to move over to localization, pending a few more details.

Since its a lateral move, they will not be increasing my pay. Maybe after a review in 6 months.

Makes peeeeerfect sense.

Quick Andy make it up to her on Friendster.  Maybe one day Ashley can propose over Formspring.

I would, but I'm still annoyed at this utterly ludicrous concept that they're gonna pay me $12 for a job that requires far more qualifications and that salary scales generally indicate similar jobs (re: editor) have mean salaries of $60K. I mean, I'm not expecting that, but I was seriously at least expecting fucking $16 an hour. Or PTO. Or Holidays. Or something.

Free rape at least, I guess.

Why YES, lady who is training my dog to the tune of $2500, it would be FABULOUS if you could keep my dog for an extra week (value: $833) at no additional cost so you can work with a dog aggression specialist. I think that's just fine.

Of course, that makes me wary about what kind of dog I'm going to have back. I mean, if he's still that dog aggressive, I get the sinking feeling this is $2500 that did not result in what I'd hoped for.

At least the fish tanks have been cooperating (knock on wood). Just added a schooling fish to the big tank -- they have eyes that glow! -- and some shrimp to the betta's tank.

You say that now, but there'll be egg on your face when your dog gets back next week and it's immediately savaged by the fish.

$2500 to send him to the dog trainer's house for her to work with him day and night for three weeks. (Four, now.)

Now you know why I complain about this dog so much. Besides which, go ahead and look up dog training. This is a very reasonable rate.

Suffice it to say: this amount is money well spent if he comes back better than he left us.

Obligatory "to each their own."

That said, I'm not looking up the rates for dog training: 1) location, 2) not interested in criticizing how you spend your money. Either way, hopefully it'll be a good investment. I expect when folks dish out that kinda money, they get positive returns.

In light of talking about training dogs, Roland does not bark when I am not home anymore. Win. Downside: Charles got him into the habit of jumping up when he was a young puppy. Trying to get him out of that - there's tons of children or people nervous with how dogs act around these parts, and I ain't into having them think he's Kujo. (Cujo?) Whatevs.

Also. Jack sleeps in Roland's kennel. I am confused. Jack has his own kennel, designed specifically for cats. I guess he wants to believe he's in a large palace or some isht. THAT SAID, holy crap, Jack knows how to say "herro." Haha.

Edit* -my dogs. I only have one. That is, indeed, enough.
Re: Roland, roommate feeds him table food. This is pissing me off. It's like everyone is trying to undo what I'm training him not to do. ):
