Yeah, every internet community I've been a part of has had an unusually high number of Canadians.

Although the weird part is that people from Vancouver are pretty common in nearly every online community I've seen, and Vancouver doesn't have bad weather....

Well, you hang out in places that discuss Japan-originating video games which seem disproportionately popular on the west coast (for fairly obvious reasons), so yeah, that'd explain the Vancouver thing.

Also yes, gotta make fun of Leafs fans somewhere.

Maybe.

Rocky: you do know what an A-bomb is, right?
Bullwinkle: A-bomb is what some people call our show!
Rocky: I don't think that's very funny...
Bullwinkle: Neither do they, apparently!

I am on the way to Vancouver.

Somebody set up us the socialize?

(Noteworthy: I spend the first half of my vacation here, and the second half in Ottawa, so...pre-Christmas get togethers are how it'll have to be).

Since I'll be home alone for Christmas, and I haven't celebrated with the whole tree-and-presents thing in 5 or 6 or more years, my parents sent me my gift early.

A Kindle Fire!

Shiny new toy is fun, but I'm already frustrated by how limited it is by proprietary shit like "if you download free ebooks from Project Gutenberg, they don't get to live on the shelf with the other books, the legitimate children from Amazon. No DRM means they're UNCLEAN and must live in the documents file."

... this is why no one should buy me presents.

This is why it's good that you can tell the Amazon OS to fuck off with one click.

I have a Kindle Fire. I like it so far. Several books I must read are free on there. Also, Words With Friends and Netflix. It also has great battery life. My biggest complaint is the inaccurate keyboard. I think they're doing some sort of update soon?

I woke up today stiff from two days of gym in a row.  Woke up early to do boxing.  Finished that went Christmas shopping for last minute presents for extended family.  Got this.  Today was pretty much the best day.

I don't know exactly when Lego got that metal, but I love it even more now that this exists and I got to bring it into someone's life.  Especially when it is a little girl.

There's actually a tv show or tv movie or something for this ninjago thing. I haven't actually seen it, but the commercials are pretty telling. ...unfortunately what they are telling me is that they managed to make. A product that badass and ruin it with a plot and bad cgi.

Definitely moving for real this time, guys. Submitted the "intent to leave" papers to the office today. We're done with this place as of February 1.

One tiiiiiiiiny hitch:

We don't have somewhere to move to yet.
