And that's why the US was the richest country in the world; unlike the four other countries around its size, it didn't have 70% or so of its landmass taken up by uninhabitable mountains, borderline useless tundra, or an unlivable desert of death.

I thought you lived in Atlanta, MC?

I do.   Notmiki lives in NYC (hence his reaction of "wtf Canada is small").

Staten Island has 1/70 the population of Canada, and no one even knows anyone from Staten Island.

(I am personally of the opinion that Staten Island is an elaborate hoax or urban legend.  Still waiting for Snopes to figure it out.)

I have it on good authority that Staten Island exists. People I know have BEEN there, man! They've seen some stuff! And some things!

Whoo Easter!? Or something. I had a great time, didn't really do any traditional/religious thing but did spend some quality time with family and friends =-) Good Friday fell on a parent visiting weekend so my mother and I shared our standard Chicken Maryland takeaway but with the added bonus of chocolate cake as our Easter treat. We also watched the Wedding Singer and then Made of Honor on TV. I gave my mum flowers as a gift and she gave me an Easter Egg to take home with me (Thortons Chocolate) =-)

The holidays still aren't over apparently as I'm visiting with my mum again today and tomorrow. This time my sister is coming over to stay the night too and we are going out on a trip tomorrow (then on Friday I have a lunch/TV thing with peeps for the Royal Wedding and a BBQ on Sunday!)~

The good: Move is all done but the last bit of cleaning and unpacking.

The other good: Internet is, clearly, hooked up at the new place.

The bad: Well, ecxept for on my computer. The wireless router is fine, but the wireless card plugged into my comp refuses to work. SO until we can get that fixed, I'll have net access from her comp during the day, but not in the evenings when she's using it.

The ugly: Going to have to find a new daily walk route. Trying to do the old one from the new starting point is nooooooot gonna happen.

Look up The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA. The band is just a nostalgic bonus.

Also playing:
Dispatch
The Roots
John Butler Trio
Gogol Bordello
Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros
Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band
Blind Pilot
The Moondoggies
Lindsay Fuller

Dave Matthews Band is not really my cup of tea, but it is better than U2.  Everything is better than U2.  Brokencyde is better than U2.

You should totally check out The Roots and John Butler Trio on that list though LD, especially if you like Dave Matthews Band.

Don't forget to put the paperwork for a big raise and promotion in while you can.

My brother had an appendectomy done yesterday. He just pretty much started hurting at 4 and was under the knife by 8. Now he gets to eat pudding and I don't.

Heard Osama bin Laden died last Monday.

I'm happy people are happy - blood thirst quenched. Still worried about this presumably never-ending terrorist search by the US.

Osama dying made people entirely forget airports existed and that should last for a few days. Convenient, as we're a one-woman-army short at work. >_>

So my sister had gone down to Ecuador for a friend's wedding. Apparantly the family of the man the friend was marrying basically browbeat them into having the wedding in Ecuador. I'd heard that my sister had probably lost her passport or had it stolen, as both my Mom and Dad had been contacted for information by the consulate. Turns out the situation was far worse.

The whole wedding party was thoroughly robbed at gunpoint. Everything they had, even took them to their rooms to get their luggage. Don't really know anything other than that and I don't think anyone was hurt, but she gets home tomorrow at least.
