Exercise helps quite a bit, too.  I'm always more moody and angry when I don't get at least 90 minutes of exercise in a week.  I think part of it is that when you exercise you can focus your anger at causing yourself pain.  It's LIKE cutting yourself but actually productive.

Seriously, absolutely loving boxing for the exercise and not because I get to hit things.  Been much happier of late also.

I mean I am playing Etrian Odyssey and not raging at it.

I've read that's pretty much a spot on comparison, in fact.  cutting yourself tends to release the same sort of intra-cerebral chemicals as the 'runner's high', including the ever-popular endorphins.

I knew it was always a good thing.  I was just suprised how effective it has been and how much I enjoy going through all the stuff involved with it honestly.

Working out doesn't let me work on Jackson Pollock inspired art and has no positive qualities whatsoever.

My road to happiness is getting my pump on and injecting anabolic steroids into the underside of my jaw.

A true man's jaw is naught but bone.  Are you saying you're not a true man?  If a needle can go through your jaw you are not a true man.

If you're injecting the steroids directly into your jaw bone, well, that's a man I'd like to get my ass kicked by.

Wouldn't it make more sense to deal with the source of anger? Life's more fun if you grab a weapon and go charging after your problems.
LOL. This is horrible, horrible advice. If I did this I'd be in jail for a good reason.

Directly dealing with whatever's bothering you is usually the best course of action. Other things (Like a balance diet/exercise/sleep) all definitely make you happier and more stable, but if you aren't willing to face a problem and deal with it... yeah. Not that it's always possible to do so- people can be difficult to deal with and everyone's got to work- but I stand by the direct approach being best.

And if there isn't a real problem? What you're saying is really stupid. Sometimes people make a fuss over absolutely nothing.  Sometimes the fact that you're not eating, sleeping, or exercizing enough IS the problem.  And if nothing else, doing these things first can drastically alter your attitude and make you better equipped to deal with the deeper issue IF THERE EVEN IS ONE.

If I may be completely serious for just a second, please stop giving this macho man "LOL just deal with your problems brah" horseshit.  It's terrible advice and frankly you're doing more harm than good by giving it.

Yeah, I have to just second everyone but Super here. It sounds like the problems involved here are work and people, which, suck as they might, you just have to deal with. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is just man the fuck up and deal with it, and exercise/diet/sleeping pattern all help with this. (Also, this would be amazingly hypocritical if I weren't calling myself out on it.)
Super, if the issue is a single person or something, then yeah, facing problems is fine. But sometimes, it's pretty much impossible to face every problem, especially when everything is becoming a problem.

On this note, I really need to man the fuck up and improve my exercise/diet/sleeping pattern. What even counts as a decent amount of exercise? I mean, I walk everywhere, but that doesn't seem like much effort to me. :v

Yoshi: Yes to getting on a more healthy regimen, absolutely fucking not to telling yourself to "man the fuck up". Though I really only have anecdotal evidence to support it, I feel confident in saying that that is the attitude that only leads to being more depressed and angry all the time. Especially so if you don't have any real problems, or if your problems are relatively insignificant. All that attitude does is cause you to blame yourself for feeling bad, which compounds the situation.

Additionally, now that I am significantly more drunk/more willing to rage via the android keyboard interface: Super, seriously, SHUT THE FUCK UP. I sincerely doubt you've actually been depressed and moody for a significantly long period of time to be giving advice if your advice is seriously the absolute bullshit you're spewing.  The sort of attitude you advocate does nothing to help and does everything to harm. I am actually pretty annoyed by you giving this advice, in all sincerity. That is the sort of attitude that prevented me from making any meaningful steps to being less moody all the time. Shut. The. Fuck. Up.

So in ENTIRELY UNRELATED news, smartphones glitch out a lot and from my experience usually there is nothing you can do about it.  New technology!  Kinda obnoxious.

Oh, that reminds me, my iPod keeps glitching out. It refuses to play certain songs (Alter Bridge ;-; ) and when I go to plug it into my computer, it sometimes freezes up completely and refuses to do -anything- until it runs out of battery, at which point I'm able to safely charge it again.
I literally have no idea how to fix this. I've tried formatting it and re-syncing with nothing and then adding songs again, but it doesn't seem to like doing anything. Anyone got any ideas?
