No, women have caught up to men. They're at higher risk in some ways, as they show symptoms differently than men do.

My instincts were to asterisk and say "Of course, dark chocolate is medically relevant, milk chocolate's only really bad for the added sugar and dairy, and there's the psychological benefits, etc.," but disclaimers are so passe.

The real key point is cocoa - what's been seen in studies is that it's the cocoa amount you get (which dark chocolate typically contains more).  Cocoa contains flavonoids which, when consumed in high amounts, are associated with decreased cardiovascular risks.  In the US, I think Milk Chocolate contains about 10-20% cocoa, while Dark Chocolate is anywhere from 15-95% (the large baking bars tend to be very highly concentrated in cocoa amounts).

As I was typing this, a bunch of my students (from my awesome school, obviously) came up to me and started interviewing me for their Language Arts class. This is adorable. So far I've been asked about my favorite song, my favorite part of being a teacher, and my reason for becoming a teacher. I'm surprised at how easy it was to give fairly long responses to these in Japanese.

This won't effect the validity of the research since it was selectively choosing people that ate chocolate (and presumably those that did not as a control).  If nothing else it could potentially improve the confidence in the findings due to a potentially larger sample size.

I am fine, I had been off work sick for a week before the flooding (same old shit), flooding happened in the CBD and I don't have work for the rest of the week.  Where I live is fine and safe, we have food and water in case we lose power.  As is, we still have power and an internet connection, so yeah, I am fine.

Nah, I chose my foreign language well - it's fairly vital in a lot of my hobbies, so I actually have incentive to keep using it.

In Math courses I've taken, an hour to read and really understand one paragraph of an article would be downright frightening.  You might want to schedule two hours.  Or maybe a week's worth of lectures.

In English courses I've taken, I wouldn't flinch if my prof scheduled me to read a novel in a week.



It's all about density, honestly.  I'm sure there's English poems about the length of a typical paragraph that would take me more than an hour to understand (especially if I wasn't given footnotes).  This is why I never took poetry in university >_>

I doubt it's the charisma. My class is... well, we number 32, but I have never seen all students in attendance except in his classes. Those who are in attendance seldom pay attention, often going so far as just talking at a normal volume during a lecture, except again in this particular teacher's class.

It's not even the subject, I don't think. People always say how amazing as a teacher he is, and he was valued among the highest according to this inquiry from two months ago.

Must be high CON. It seems almost impossible he's hardly been ill in all that time.
