So a woman gave me her number today. Brazilian, tall blonde, German name. Such a coincidence.

Wait, was that what WW2 was fought about? No wonder Japan was involved!

What type of reporting it is again?

Incredibly pedantic policy analysis, aimed at the kind of people who either want to shape policy or could be fined thousands or millions of dollars if they break laws they didn't know about.

laws they didn't know about.

It would not be inaccurate to say US environmental laws and regulations are a completely confused morass of traps for the unwary which bear little resemblance to the purposes for which they were made.  Have fun!

Promises unkept, I'm moving onto plan B. I'm frustrated that my CEO is as much of a dreamer as I am only because that tends to lead to beautiful words and empty actions. It's a shame, because I really do think she has an excellent vision. Just... she's not quite there on getting stuff to go. Hell of a wake-up call for me, though, as if the past 3 years of failing to make good things happen weren't enough (which, obviously, they weren't).

Plan B involves spending time in England and various other travel, so I can't say I'm disappointed.

Oh, hey, apparently this is publicly posted knowledge so I can share this publicly.

Well, the Atlanta part of CCP just cut about half of its positions, and mine was one of the positions that no longer exists (along with some really talented people; people who've been at the company 15 years; people who I know were getting more done than anyone else in their department).  It's not a complete studio closure, but it's pretty close.

If you know any game development studios looking for programmers, pass them my way

Oh dear. ):

Edit* I've heard of Irrational Games in Boston, and know they're hiring, but I don't know.. if that's a good lead or not. You'd have to re-locate.

Really sorry to hear that MC. Irrational seems like a decent studio[they made Bioshock], doesn't seem like a bad lead.

Sad days both for yourself and CCCP, I was hoping things were looking good there on the shooter and the MMO.

Stuff was looking good on our end and I'm pretty sure on the shooter, too.  As far as I knew both Atlanta and Shanghai were doing good jobs.  But...finances.

So sorry to hear this.

Specifics meaning...like my resume?  I'm still putting that together.  Though the short version everyone knows:

5 years at Activsion making console games (PS2/multiplat then 360/multiplat).  Primarily working in C++
1.5 years at CCP making MMOs for PC.  Primarily working in Python

Specifics like what kind of work you're really looking for. I don't want to sling you jobs for, say, mobile games if you have no interest in the platform.

I'm going to have a console/PC bias, but I do more generally have a bias towards higher-profile.  In that I probably would take a job at Zynga (they're obviously doing something right, and I can learn from it, and it'll look good on my resume) whereas a much smaller company making facebook games?  Probably not.

Haven't posted in a while since there's been nothing good to report. Moved to HK, hate my life here, hate my job here, get into fights with my parents everyday.

Then I decided to resign from my job, things improved for a bit. Looked for a job, couldn't find one, more shit hit the fan and got into a huge fight with my mom two days ago and my dad just now. They want me to go back and take back my resignations.

Fuck this shit. They are dead to me.
