EDIT: Alternative options:
Flashback to the Esper world, although with some clever editing you could make that and Zozo both Moonside.
That one town on the Veldt
Thasmana
Whatever the main empire city was
THE ENTIRE WORLD OF RUIN!?!?!?!?

It kind of depends on how you make your FF6 hack play out. I'd have more recommendations but just trying to think of potential areas has made me realize I haven't played FF6 in forever and probably shouldn't be listened to on this.

Actually, Zozo's a really good suggestion and I didn't have any better ideas for it. I suppose I should ask for any other suggestions for Zozo before I commit to Moonside, but it's a surprisingly good suggestion considering I didn't expect anyone to take my request for suggestions seriously.

That was the stupidest goddamn thing I've ever heard. If whatever character replaces Terra would fit in a Moonside environment then it'd work just fine. It's not even that much of a stretch.

Regardless, I haven't chosen a new locale for Mobliz. So I could use some ideas, preferably a notable RPG town that gets practically levelled (or possibly has a burned-down orphanage or something).

HomeTown is totally a place.

HomeTown is totally a place.

It also is distinctly a place that most definitely does NOT get destroyed, regardless if you go with the actual translation, or the "should have been" translation (that is, Township and Hometown had their names swapped in BoF2, but it doesn't matter, both towns do not get destroyed)
