If you're arriving on the 23rd, AUS is pretty much the only place to go - I don't think we're going to be able to arrange a road trip to pick people up from places further out. If you're coming in early and staying slightly late, you can look at SAT (about 60-90 minutes' drive one-way), DFW (about 2.5 hours drive one-way), or HOU (about 3-3.5 hours drive one-way). Bear in mind that we're not going to be able to arrange transportation to San Antonio, Dallas, or Houston on days when a lot of people are coming and going out of Austin itself, and your ticket savings would need to be pretty drastic to make this worth it.

Short answer? AUS is the only option.

AN ANNOUNCEMENT:

Ok, Idun and I intend to rent cars.  It would PROBABLY be VERY HELPFUL for Hal/Alex/Cpt.K if we could organize some flights of people to arrive with the 2 of us so we can more easily, uh, car-pool >_> 

Not sure what the best way would be for this to work - should Idun and I get tickets first, and then others organize around that, or we just try to hit a time when others are coming in?

 The important parts of my itinerary as far as pickup/dropoff is concerned.  I'm coming in early for Schlitterbahn, so arrival on Tuesday.  Departing on Sunday.

I didn't check on it (someone might want to call and do this), but with as small a number of rooms as I suspect we'll be getting I tend to doubt it. Even with 20 people, if we're packing in 4 people per room that's only 5 rooms total.

Looks like my departure flight number has changed to 3971 and the depature time to 4:10pm.  Also, they officially changed my arrival time to 10:40, not that one minute makes a difference. <_<
