So the topic of this came up at DLC, so I figured now that jenna has official time off in Nov, I'd throw this out there.

She's got the 12th to the 22nd of November off(on the 23rd we're doing family stuff) so we could fit a minimeet anywhere in that time. If we want to do a weekend, the 18th-21st, going friday to monday, is probably the best idea for us. But we could do 11th-14th with little trouble, especially if someone besides Jenna could do driving.

Any thoughts from those of you interested in making this happen?

I have some interest, especially as I have friends in SF that I haven't seen in a long time. I'm hesitant about committing, though.

The Night of Writing Dangerously (NaNoWriMo thing) is 11/20, so Andrew and I will probably have to duck away for that evening. Other than that, don't care if we use that weekend!

I *might* (keyword might) be able to make this. (No, I don't live in the area, but I work in the SF area for a week or so every 4-6~ months, and could probably swing adjusting my trip to be during the right weekend). I'd probably just switch my hotel spot for the weekend to one in the appropriate area, wherever that is. Only request is that I don't really trust myself to drive Bay Area traffic and thus would probably want a pickup to / from the hotel it wouldn't be inconvenient... but there's always taxis even if it is. (Or if there's group tourism to some place with decent public transit, then that.... although that would be uh downtown SF and not much else.)

Yeah, my place. It's big enough...probably for even a full con, so a minimeet won't be an issue. I did move recently-ish, so this isn't the apartment but an actual house.

Snowfire: Uh...there's fantastic public transit here. If you're staying in SF proper, likely the best thing to do would be to go from your hotel to the nearest BART station, take the BART to the Colma station, and have someone pick you up there(easy thing to do, it's close by). And vice versa for getting back to SF.

Alright, so date is pretty much set now as nobody's spoken against it. Nov 18-21. So this will also serve as the travel topic for peeps to post flight/bus/ETA for car trips/however the hell you're getting here info in.

The weekend would be 16-19

I'm okay with 18-21, but you've also mentioned wanting to do this on the weekend and the date doesn't match up. Just making sure you've got it right.

I believe you're looking at the wrong month (December instead of November).

18-21 of November is a weekend (Friday-Monday)

I had no idea where you lived, so I assumed it would be more like "20 minutes from a Caltrain stop and btw Caltrain runs only hourly on weekends." But yeah, if you're near a BART station, that makes it easy. I'll just use a SF area hotel... if I'm in the area, of course.
