You shoot some dudes. You are a cowboy and in fact fight the US and Mexican armies once or twice.
2- In fact, you can shoot pretty much whatever. Dudes, ladies, animals, minorities...
Back then, minorities were totally different from Gentlemen and Ladies. It was like 1905, people were racist as SHIT.
3- Of course it's an open world. Go where you want. Between the border guards and the railroad bridge being out, you might have a hell of a time crossing that river, though.
It's a Rockstar game, of course you can free roam and of course it's fenced off by plot gates (the Mexican border to the south and the bridges being out to the east).
4- The downside? Your wife is a whore, and your son looks nothing like you.
Your wife was literally a prostitute. Adult Jack looks nothing like John.
