Also, my understanding is that any LOL ranked play of significance is in arranged team mode, so at least the idiot / troll problem isn't an issue. (And it's not like a miraculously high single-ranking gets you anything there anyway.)

1. Achievements are important. Or at least not useless.

There's a building that unlocks achievements, and for each one you do you get a money bonus. All the clues were references to the buildings you unlock.

2. So's paying the gods their due.

Shrine. Makes game harder at the benefit of more EXP/money.

3. Drinking is important.
Tonics.

4. Drinking and weapons, the best.
Weapons.

5. Drinking, weapons, and upgrades. Yess.
Upgrades.

6. I guess the item shop's cool too because you can buy more alcohol there.

Mother 3 features a timed hits system where by following the beat of the battle music you can get extra damage from your physicals.

One of Lucas's latest spells is called Refresh which gives the entire party 10% regen for 20 PP. This may not seem like much but with Mother 3's rolling hp this is surprisingly effective.
