Augustine is average (actually slightly below average) HP. That shouldn't even come close to surviving G. Dragon which is something like 5-6x average damage. Nobody in this field should be able to survive it (unless you use an extremely high kill point).

Ryu2 can block sleep.

Ryu2 is about 1.56x pdur and 1.08x mdur. He's ever-so-slightly above average speed (101% or so with the Dragon Sword). Note that the stat topic includes a stupidly rare Rand armour so the def average is lower and the speed average is higher than the topic claims (also Ryu really should have Dragon Sword as his default). His damage... I'm not going to bother calculating, you can't reduce it and it kills everyone here.

Ryu can't use G Dragon since it won't kill White Rose, and he certainly isn't winning with anything else. I guess there's an argument for G.Dragon > GlassShield but meh.
Augustine Naboor and Lilly Pendragon (Suikoden III) LOSS vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II): Their damage kills average, but Ryu is much better than that.

Gau and Mog (Final Fantasy VI) vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II): Gau contributes a 50% chance of winning, Mog drives it slightly higher but not up to 67%. So it depends how you vote on status!
Snow Villiers and Hope Estheim (Final Fantasy XIII)  vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II): Um yeah FF13 characters are probably all average speed, and even if they aren't you need to see STEELGUARD! reducing G. Dragon.

Lucas and Kumatora (Mother 3) LOSS vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II) - For what it's worth, I take the rolling system into account, and give characters one turn to save themselves or die if they have, say, 30% or more of their HP left after the fatal attack and aren't doubled.  Kumatora has passable healing, Lucas has amazing healing.  Ryu blows everything on G.Dragon and then tinks for the rest of the match.  If he waits to use G.Dragon, he gets statused and his G.Dragon damage reflected, killing him before Lucas/Kumatora.

Dekar and Lexis (Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals) LOSS vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II) - Needs Lexis to be allowed at least 38% gauge to not die instantly, and probably win.  I don't remember if I decided if I allowed this or not.

Lyon and Miakis (Suikoden V) LOSS vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II) - Miakis is fastest, Lyon is next.  Miakis does something, Lyon has 70% ID.  I'm pretty sure that ID rates are tied to the user's magic stat, so Miakis could theoretically cast Battlefield to raise that...  Maybe.  Not 100% on this.

Jessica De'Alkirk and Luna  (Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete) LOSS vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II) - I...mmm...this is close.  Luna's fairly slow IIRC (granted, in a fast party).  So Jessica has to rely on her status weapons, which...are fairly good (silence or sleep).  I don't think they're good enough (20% per hit, she has 2 hits), but I'd really have to test them a bit more.  Like Nash's status, they seem really accurate against most enemies, so it could be resistance playing a factor.  I do remember both of them being extremely effective in, say, the Frontier (but most enemies in Althena's Tower are immune).  So yeah, Ryu for now.

Jude Maverick and Kresnik Ahtreide (Wild ARMs 4) vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II) - So...could Funny-pose force Hex-specific attacks?  I'd see that maybe forcing Ryu to attack or use a Puppy instead of G.Dragon.  I seem to remember using it and enemies focused on Single-hex attacks.  Granted, this is based on an n of like 5, but...could be enough.  I'll give it to them for now until I know otherwise.

Yosuke Hanamura and Teddie (Persona 4) vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II) - Uh....well.  Yosuke can raise the accuracy of Tentarafoo to about 45% with his +3 stats weapon (man...he and Teddie lack LUK boosting stuff...sucks for them), higher if you let them toss on accessories, so up to 50% or so.  Teddie can get faster than Ryu with his equipment...but...mmm...you'd have to see Auto-Tarukaja armours allowing them to put out enough damage...which I think, even with a critical Brave Blade, that's not enough (unless you allow them to do an All-Out attack or get a Press Turn from it!  Which it is enough then!).  Uh...Ryu is favoured overall, here so go him.

I did mention Crono having OHKO damage last time....  in response to OK's numbers where he seemed to be multiplying unscaled boss HP by 2.5, and assuming this could be an "average damage OHKOs" interp.  In which case Crono does have a OHKO and the DL is the speeDL where healing is worthless.   Which would be silly.

EDIT: Also, see Elfboy posts earlier as to why Mariel revival hype completely fails. Jeane OHKOs Mariel with L3s and Emma has zero first-turn decisive options. Also, Cecile and Thomas so don't give a shit about the unite there. They're both faster, borderline 2HKO Jeane at worst (Cecile+2 Thomas turns = dead Jeane) and she's entirely ST for anything worth bothering with. Also, how do Mallow and Croco lose to Jeanne when they're both faster and 3HKOing her?

Snow Villiers and Hope Estheim (Final Fantasy XIII)  vs Ryu (Breath of Fire II): Um yeah FF13 characters are probably all average speed, and even if they aren't you need to see STEELGUARD! reducing G. Dragon.

STEELGUARD! reduces basically everything (I think maybe not POIZN???), so it should reduce G. Dragon.  It reduces fixed damage attacks in its home game (e.g. 10,000 Needles, fall damage) as well as stuff like gravity.

That said, can Snow beat Ryu in a straight fight after the fact?  Guts gives him some sort of healing, and his high counter rate mean he can punish Snow when he's most vulnerable (ie actually attacking, not camping in Sentinel).  Probably needs math though.
