It's nearly November again. That means several important things, not the least of which is my annual attempt to write shit novels so I can mine down to the good ones hiding underneath. Oh, right, and fundraising for National Novel Writing Month's parent nonprofit, the Office of Letters and Light.

Brief schpiel here: The Office of Letters and Light provides National Novel Writing Month for free. And the Young Writers' Program for free. They run purely off donations and proceeds from the cool swag they sell. They're also local (their office is about a mile from where I live) and I've been writing with NaNoWriMo for the last 11 years. I <3 them completely.

Every year, they host a swanky dinner in San Francisco as part of a fundraising drive called the Night of Writing Dangerously. I ask for donations to that effort -- it takes collecting $350 for me and Andrew to go. Mostly they come from family or myself, but I like to leave the option open to others if they're looking for a place to send some cash.

Donations are done through PayPal. They're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so it's tax-deductible to Americans (not sure how that works internationally).

This'll be the first and only time I mention it outside of Facebook. The link's in my sig, too, and I'll remove it once the fundraiser is over.

NaNoWriMo.

This is something like the 12th time I've participated, and this will be the third time I've attended the fundraiser/word frenzy known as Night of Writing Dangerously, the second time I'll finish at said event.

Since I've got about 20,000 words to write in the next two days, and another 5,000 on the third day, NANOWRIMO IS MY LIFE RIGHT NOW.
