Final Fantasy 13 vs Lufia 2- Hatbotted. Love both OSTs.


Duck Tales vs Dragon Warrior 4- DW4 had one of the all time great NES OSTs. Ducktales is hit and miss.
StarTropics vs River City Ransom- Stealing from double dragon puts RCR over the top.

Ar Tonelico II vs Ghost Trick: Not a soundtrack I'd hype normally outside the game, but very effective in the game. I kinda wish that's what we actually voted on sometimes. Game music isn't about just being good stand-alone tracks, not at all. If that were true we could mix in game and non-game music just as easily in a contest like this. Game music does something pretty special in terms of how it develops mood within a game. However, the decision to nom games lots of people haven't played makes voting along those lines virtually impossible.

What was my point with that? I dunno. But anyway, Ghost Trick music is kinda okay out of game, great in-game. I dunno about AT music in-game but I really don't like it out of game.

Final Fantasy 13 vs Lufia 2: Lufia 2 doesn't even win battle themes which is a bad sign for that OST.


And... total apathy for this set of NES soundtracks!

Muramasa vs SMT:N This is very very close. I think SMT:N at it's best is better, but it also has a lot of songs that are very background noisish or forgettable. Nom solidarity for now.
Chrono Cross vs Bastion: Build that Wall is really good, but Bastion doesn't offer a whole lot else.

Muramasa vs SMT:N - muramasa. Neither really trumps the other.
Chrono Cross vs Bastion - CC. MUCH closer than I had expected. Much better than the previous two, also.
Ar Tonelico II vs Ghost Trick - At2. I do like how GT works in game, but it still puts me to sleep.
Final Fantasy 13 vs Lufia 2 - FF13. For all that I like 13-2 ost better, it's still enough to beat Lufia's two good tracks.
