LoM vs Final Fantasy 6 - *sigh* LoM is cool and all, but I don't see the immense hype its OST gets. Especially compared to Nier. But even FF6 beats it out easily to me. Especially considering how poorly it gets used in-game.
Chrono Cross vs Ar Tonelico II - I like CC a lot, particularly Time's Scar. But apart from the opening, I don't think it's as musically unique or interesting as At2's stuff.

Final Fantasy 3 vs Dragon Warrior 4 - And I don't find anything about DQ4 musically interesting.

Legend of Mana vs Final Fantasy 6
Some huge FF6 soundtrack fans around here.  It is well-used in game, I suppose, but definitely see Symphony of the Night at the absolute top tier with Legend of Mana.
Chrono Cross vs Ar Tonelico II
Been awhile since I actually listened to the full Ar tonelico II soundtrack, and it's better than I remembered, so I don't feel so bad about it beating FF13.  I'll throw A Small Journey out as an example of a good non-Hymnos soundtrack with nice motion:

LoM vs Final Fantasy 6: I think hype for SotN music as top-tier is... well, about as baffling as hype for the game itself being top-tier! <.< Anyway this is a pretty great match, FF6's in-game use is absolutely top-notch, but LoM... hell. LoM is a mediocre game that I thoroughly enjoyed entirely for its soundtrack.
Chrono Cross vs Ar Tonelico II: Ugh. I'd take both of the above two soundtracks and the two they beat last week over either of these two without giving it a second though. And somehow here I am voting for the soundtrack that produced Gale and Magical Dreamers. Oh well.

Final Fantasy 3 vs Dragon Warrior 4: This feels very straightforward to me, FF3's soundtrack has better battle themes, better dungeon themes, and better event themes all by pretty clear amounts to me.

LoM vs Final Fantasy 6 - Character themes win the day.
Chrono Cross vs Ar Tonelico II - Take what NEB said, and replace the CC hatred, and that's what I mean here too.  AT music does not impress.

Final Fantasy 3 vs Dragon Warrior 4 - Both are prone to too damn much beeping in their soundtrack.  DW4 has a couple great songs, while FF3 has a smaller number, and a lot of...I don't know.  Neither are great, honestly >_>
