So my wife and I are taking care of our niece for the summer. It gives her a few months in a stable environment after getting bounced around from parent to parent (both of whom are getting divorced, and not from each other) and constantly lost in the shuffle like she usually is. And we get to spend time with a good kid, which is nice.

So of course my asshole landlord has decided that this Will Not Stand, and is telling us to send her home or we'll be in violation of our lease. Which allows kids, including this specific circumstance (where we're not actually adopting her, but are legally responsible for her care). She doesn't seem to care about that, so obviously resolving this will not be a drawn-out stressful pain in the fucking ass.

I really just want to scream a lot and then punch somebody in the face right now.

There's a mediation process the county runs that we can go through before court becomes an active concern, which is nice. And we're out of here when the lease expires in three months anyway, because fuck staying around after this bullshit. I'll commute from Idaho if I have to.

Landlords using physical means to eject tenants is a crime pretty much everywhere, regardless of whether there may be grounds to evict, and if your landlord continues to accept rent payments that typically means they give up any right to evict over conditions they are aware of (for that month). A L/T attorney will know exactly what your rights are, and more importantly know what procedural hurdles can be erected to prevent your landlord from exercising THEIR rights (assuming they have any). Anyway, seems like you're on top of things, but it may be worth chatting with an attorney sooner rather than later. Find one with a free consult and they'll probably tell you what you need to know (because in all likelihood the answer is "there's no way they can evict you before the lease runs, and no claim they can make against you for money damages")

Managed to get some time off over the weekend from the hotel and teaching, so I of course did what anybody does on Memorial Day weekend. I camped out on the beach and got hired for a modelling gig wearing swimwear. Awesome~

Apparently there was a photoshoot going on at the beach and one of my friends knew the photographer. $200 bucks for 2 hours worth of work. I can't complain. I also got to hang out with a bunch of drunk models on the beach. Definitely in the running for best 3-day weekend ever.

All the best with the therapy, etc Zenny, know it's a long, hard road/how it goes some. The emotions stuff ... yeeah. Writing stuffs down and how is your mood on a scale to one to ten ... yeah there's a lot of that.

Started a summer job as a teaching assistant for 15 hours a week. Trying to balance finishing my research work and this job and it's getting pretty crazy. Trying to prepare samples between teaching times while still trying to be social~

Still feel kind of crappy, but doing better than yesterday. Woke up still feeling ill and was coughing so hard I was sick so made it a priority to go out and go to the chemist for medicine. Felt somewhat better after taking the anti hay fever medicine, picked my anti depressants up as well since I didn't go out yesterday, mum and other peeps on the phone said it sounded more like a cold than hay fever but if it's a cold it's a bad one >.> Paracetomal didn't seem to really help yesterday so really not sure. Taking a hot cold relief drink today anyway. I have suffered from hay fever before so yeah is kind of confusing~

Moved into the new place, and we have internet again(yay). Living with Jenna's mother and sister again is not so yay, but at least this time the hellspawn nephew isn't here. Decided since a) we were now sharing space with 2 other people, and b) we were sick of carrying around stuff we haven't used in forever, we just got rid of like half of all our possessions, including most of our furniture(their stuff is better anyway).

Thankfully, this is Cali and we found a junk company that wastes basically nothing. Anything that can be reused/donated/salvaged gets taken care of, and anything that can't gets recycled. Pretty cool.

Was running late for gym this morning. Gun my Preworkout while I walk to gym. PT asks if want to just do stuff this afternoon. I mention I had had the pwo. Okay let's do things. Shitty lifts compressed into 20 mins. Still better day than most of this week at this point.

Depression clearing up. Not so coincidentally, this coincides with having my weeknight evenings free now that I don't have dance practice basically every day. Forcing myself on a 5 day a week workout schedule now that I CAN is doing wonders for my mood. Apparently running doesn't work as well as lifting weights does for me.

Thinking about cancelling therapy since my mood is improving because that is an expense I'd rather not pay. Long term, probably a bad idea and I need the help. Short term, paying off my student loans and having money to send home every month is going to make me a lot less stressed out so I can worry about dealing with my emotional issues later.
