My legs are covered in bug bites from going to the park yesterday. Must not spend all waking hours thinking about scratching bug bites...

Try covering yourself in honey.

I don't know what good it will do, but it sounds fun!

I used bug repellant, I just unwisely forgot to put it on the back of my legs. The front of my legs are fine!

Bought some allergy meds and some ointment. The pharmacist told me it looked like an allergic reaction to a non-mosquito bug that was maybe in the grass? Took the meds and rubbed some ointment on, and they are way less swollen four hours later.

Mini round of layoffs at work today. Almost 3 months after I started (20th would have been), which is eerily similar to my experience at my previous company. At least this time my position wasn't eliminated, though my department did lose someone.

Also contacted randomly by a recruiter from a big video game company.

I think whatever happens my career is okay.

well, went to Mountain Creek, a water park, today, with Mandy and Jeff; my mother joined us later because she was curious what it was like and free tickets.  Don't ask, I don't know what goes on in her head.

TIME FOR SOME RANDOM MISADVENTURES THAT WILL BORE PEOPLE!

Fun fact: I put on SUn Screen!  Only later to learn by Mandy that it was Bug Repellent and had to put on ACTUAL Sun Screen instead.  I've never seen Cream-based Bug Repellent before, only the spray kind!  CRAZY STUFF MAN!

Jeff makes everything more complicated.  He didn't want to do the things Mandy and I wanted to do, so goes off by himself...without letting us make up a meet up spot or time after a point.  We stumble upon him easily enough.  Mother gets there, we decide to do rides we can do as a family (she was planning on leaving earlier too), Jeff still finds ways to complicate things.

Then when she's leaving, brother decides he wants to go too, ok fair enough.  Mandy and I go to have lunch!  While eating, we see Jeff walk up to food court then turn around...we thought he left, we have no clue what's up, we worry we might have to take him home without KNOWING.  This isn't a "ARGH JEFF IN A 40 MINUTE CAR RIDE!" thing more a case of I hate being uncertain about plans and thus being unsure if I am responsible for something...he also didn't have his phone.

Mandy and I run into him randomly, because he...couldn't find my mother in the parking lot, claiming she never told him where to meet her.  Eventually, I get it through his head "LOOK ONE MORE TIME" and he does, apparently finds her, and we find out about this later when I call home (just to double check things), thus relieving some stress of having to look for him in the park.

So all in all, ignoring Jeff screwing things up, it was fun, and I only got sunburned on my right shoulder...and my feet are a bit scorched because we walked barefoot due to being too lazy to keep taking our shoes on and off, we just shoved them in the locker.  Not the wisest of ideas <_<;

Suddenly, a 10%+ raise post-category strike showed up. A few days later, I find out my company's about to be restructured, which will pretty much abolish the vast majority of special functions. My immediate superiors will definitely suffer, but I'll be entirely unaffected. Declining from my former commissioned position feels more and more like the best decision I've made in my working life in this place (not that it didn't already).

In a sense, in that I'll be one of the least affected by the restructuring in a holistic personal sense. It's still going to cause a bevy of changes, many of which will likely heavily affect our environment, many others which won't be exactly wholesome for press activities. But it'll be at least another couple months until they take full effect. We'll see.

EDIT: I'm still somewhat worried for my friends in my department because I know how much of a departure the commission pay is from the base, especially in their current responsibility draw. On the other hand, once you go past the realm of $4k (I'm making $3.6K a month now), taxes start biting really hard into the paycheck.

The only high level DDR Experience I've seen is when Chris G played it at The Break.  There is something inhuman about him...

Chris G plays everything and is at worst "Good" at everything he plays.  One of the first things I saw him do when I met him was in fact playing DDR to some Sonic song that I didn't recognize!

There's basically a DDR machine at The Break, or a DDR derivative or something.  I can't tell the difference between them all, it's all dance games with 4 arrows that you have to hit at the right time to me <_<;

There's a difference. Back when I was going to the University of Houston, they had two machines: a DDR one in one food court and I THINK another that had 9 buttons at the other food court.

well, it's one of the ones with 4 basic directions, hence why I said "DDR Derivative" and not just "some sort of dance game."  I know there's one that's actually 5 buttons, which is 4 diagonals + one in the middle.

Ya, that's the one. I recall they had it at the other student center and at the Dave and Buster's downtown.

The difference between DDR and In The Groove is that the latter has crappy music and un-fun gameplay.  High-level In The Groove is a good reminder that it is easy to design levels (or tracks) that are super hard but no fun at all, and that there is a great art to good level design.  That the game completely lacks.

No I never have.  I am intrigued, although 10 steps is usually too tough for me.  Do you recall what version of the arcade has it?

Can't find a video online for it or any listing. It must be either a Stepmania filter song or just one added to the hacked machine also played through Stepmania, because the steps are pretty interesting. I'll take a video next time I'm there. There's a few good Beyond the Beyond songs, Castlevania, etc.
