Ah yes, heard about that stuff back when I was in undergrad (2000 or 2001 or so). Roughly speaking, there are people who dislike that Quantum Mechanics is fundamentally random, and therefore make the claim that there must be some non-random laws underneath Quantum Mechanics we've never been smart enough to notice that are perfectly ordered and not random (therefore allowing fate to exist in the universe, and blah blah blah bullshit). There isn't. Physicists have proven it.
