GDC was...I think I learned less than I normally do, but it was perhaps more emotional than it normally was. Jennifer Allaway's talk brought me to tears. There was the first GDC wedding, between some acquaintances of mine. And perhaps most exciting to me:

I got filmed by the girl scouts for their game development badge. (Part of the badge is that they're supposed to talk to a professional, but in remote locations they play a video instead).

Work is still stressful but getting better.

They're hiring a minion for me. I'm getting some sort of title promotion to make me sound more official than "Marketing Associate" since I, you know, manage millions of dollars on a monthly basis. They also gave me a 20% raise, so that's nice.

I'm going to Berlin for work at the end of the month, and then I'm taking an extra week and a half to spend some time on vacation. Currently plan to spend some time in Berlin then hit Amsterdam, Paris, London and Edinburgh. Pretty busy schedule, no more than 1-2 days per city, but I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I actually get to vacation and don't have to keep handling work fires the way I did at DLCon last year.

So... despite Andrew having been laid off, things are looking okay for us.

So. Fuck. I took two places a few months ago for a Rodrigo y Gabriela concert in Paris in May because I figured out I'd have a girlfriend by then. It is April and I do not.
