SiaSia is kind of massively noteworthy from her album last year, not really fair on everyone else, but putting her up against Darude is pretty good choice though.
I don't think anything can really top something that clearly digging back as somethign of a response to something as culturally relevant as "Big Girls Don't Cry".
There is a ton to like about this. It is simple and super effective instrumentally, lyrically and as a music video. At first I was a bit shakey on the video, but it is so very minimalist and manages to conjure forth some of the most delightfully bleak imagery since Monarchy's track. I am pretty comfortable with this being my pick of the week.
Part of me wished a little bit that it had something about The Cure - Boys Don't Cry, but that is just because I love The Cure and tying that in along with being a response to Big Girls Don't Cry (which I don't care a great deal for) is just kind of a dream.
DarudeIt is clearly Darude, he uses slightly cleaner tones, but that doesn't matter. It is a dumb party track, but you know what? When you are Darude you get to make dumb party tracks. What he has is way more components that make up the track as a whole than the usual party track. Yeah it still cycles through a limited number of bars, but there is more little sequences.
Also not sure what you mean by it isn't Sandstorm. 1:45. Song is still Sandstorm. (It isn't AS good as Sandstorm, but no dumb party track is ever going to be as good as Sandstorm. If you are going to be a cheaper imitation though being by Darude gives you way more leeway).
If you link this I would insist on linking to the original Sandstorm because I am listening to it right now and holy crap it is still ana amazing track. It distils how well you can take the same 4 seconds of sound regardless of how obnoxious it might seem and twist it and turn it around back in on itself and then return to its original form and it be audio perfection.
kamelotAhhhh Kamelot is another one of those bands i Knew about and have always sort of had on the fringes of my to do list. It is a cool fun track, but I would rather link to another Nightwish single when it comes up. This is DEFINITELY one I can get behind getting just general listen play, but I don't think it begs to be shared unless your familly is way more into like ASoIaF than I expect and they aren't aware that there is a whole genre of music that is pretty much that turned into music.

There isn't a heap to say about it? It is nicely put together simple and has a pretty rad video right up until for some reason the most gangster car they can get is a hatch back.
루This is twee as hell. Given that this one has subtitles and a song description? Yeah I am comfortable in saying that this is pretty much the same wheelhouse as Taylor Swift of last decade ported over to a different cultural reference. It is interesting as a thing that exists and the style is close to the Korean stuff we have had that I really liked, but there is just waaayyyyy too much to it. This isn't two people with a guitar and keyboard. It is very clearly a full planned out band instead.
MikaOkay this is going to seem really really bitch and petty, but maaaaaan if you are going to write a song about the end of the world in a mellow melancholic song you are going to get held up against
David Bowie - Five Years. This doesn't even approach the throne, let alone touch it. Its a nice song and I would like to hear more of his stuff, but THIS doesn't speak to me. I also hope his other stuff lets him do more with his range and has less production over the top.
