THE REFS GIVETH, THE REFS TAKETH AWAY (FUCK YOU DALLAS)

The fact that it was 100% the right call just makes this all the sweeter.

I do hate that rule (it is named after Calvin Johnson) since it is so vaguely defined (what constitutes a football move? It isn't well defined) but I am fine being salty in this case.

All I will say is that I enjoyed the game immensely, I thought they were doomed on the KO fumble.

I am 150% on the Patriots bandwagon in the Superbowl myself.

You can't be as conservative as the Packers were that game. I am unashamedly rooting for the Seahawks.

The Packers DESERVED to lose because they are filthy cheaters.  Off with their draft piacks!

p.s. first Gronk posts this on twitter, then this old interview comes to light.

Quote
Asked if he spikes the ball after a (rare) rushing touchdown, Brady added: "Yeah, which happens like once every three years. But when Gronk scores -- it was like his eighth touchdown of the year -- he spikes the ball and he deflates the ball. I love that, because I like the deflated ball. But I feel bad for that football, because he puts everything he can into those spikes."

Can't make this shit up.

This whole thing is going to inevitably be called Deflatedballsgate, but is that describing the Patriots' impropriety or the Packers' playcalling against the Seahawks?

On the 1 yard line, one timeout, you have Marshawn Lynch, LET'S THROW THE BALL.

Stupidest fucking call I've seen in my entire life.  Superbowl MVP to the idiot who called that play.

That was among the dumber football playcalls I have ever seen. Like, it has to be historically bad.

Especially on 2nd fucking down.

I mean, respect where it's due to the Pats, but nothing about the end of that game made sense.

I will try to not be too insufferable about it.

p.s. my take on that sequence is that God made that insane catch happen to give New Englanders helmet catch flashbacks, realized that the joke had gone too far, and dialed up an interception to even things out.  I don't believe God cares about the outcome of football games, but I would like, at least, to believe God has a sense of humor.

It makes zero sense to throw it on second down.  You have enough time to run two plays on four down territory before having to use your timeout.  The idea was to score leaving New England with no time to make a comeback.  Throwing it not only scores too quickly, but stops the clock if you fail a completion.  I'm pretty sure if you gave Brady 20 seconds and a timeout, he could get into field goal range for overtime.

It's like the stars aligned themselves for the Seahawks for another bullshit win, but decided nah fuck it lets give it to the Patriots on a silver platter.  I wish they threw the game against the Packers instead.

I'm so salty right now (Steelers/Colts fan) who lives next door to a Patroits fan who is not going to shut up for a week.
