Note:
Round 1 is still open for votes and will be for around 24 hours from this post. But no reason not to toss up the next week now.
Event 30: The Team Fortress
A staple of the multiplay shooter scene, capture the flag (or Intelligence as the case may be) is something familiar even to those who don't follow the shooters. For this event, two teams of four will be set into a recreation of a randomly selected Team Fortress 2 map and tasked with a best-of-three capturing of the intelligence. The tools and skillset of each Team Fortress 2 character will be available to competitors (think of it as a Job Crystal), but given this is the Tourney of Random events, no one will be compelled to do so and may certainly fight under their own power if they so choose. Respawn points and Lenneth will be on hand to revive players/recreate the arena as needed.
The first team is Lily, Athena, Bowser, and Luca. They have a good mix of personality types and innate skills, so they can certainly form a good unit... if they can get along well enough of course.
The second is the Invisible Woman, Wile E. Coyote, Soma and Splinter. Sue Richards is a massive threat in this scenario, but Wile E. is always a risk of self-sabotage, and the opposing team may work out something.
Event 31: The Three-Legged Race
A classic of awkward family or work get togethers. Tie two people together at the leg, force them to run to a finish line.
Our first team is Walter White and Giselle. Walter's not in the best of shape, but it's not THAT far, and Giselle probably has magical powers of encouragement through song or something. Seems like a thing she'd be able to do.
Their opponents are Archer and Captain America. Cap could probably be competitive here dragging Archer to the finish line, being peak human performance and all. How Archer will respond to the event is less clear though, so who knows.
Event 32: Fightans
Fighting games are the spice of life. The spice is life. Fear is the mind killer. The little death that brings total obliteration. Um. Ahem. Competitors will be asked to play the most classic of classics, Street Fighter 2, for three sets of best of three.
Our contestants are The Great Question and Miriel. Neither one knows what a video game is, so there's no unfair advantages at least?
Event 33: The Stare
Staring contests. Because people are weird. However, the internet demands that the Tourney of Random Events have at least one gratuitous pony reference, and so rather than facing each other, each contestant will separately and simultaneously (through the magic of alternate dimensions) be subjected to the stare of Fluttershy. Whichever one goes the longest without breaking down is declared the winner! Won't that be fun.
Bender and Gilgamesh will undergo this ultimate trial.
