Be sure to check the Ranking List to make sure what you're about to nom is still ranked. And also because we did rank like four games last time.

Lessee. This season, let's get 4-5 characters in each division (Godlike, Heavy, Middle, Light). Please try to keep your noms even.

Sinspawn Gui (Final Fantasy X), Tengaar (Suikoden Series) and Jet Enduro (Wild ARMs 3) have automatic bids and need not be nommed.

It was removed from rankings due to losing a couple players when I trimmed the data to its current state. It does not currently have enough players to qualify for ranking.

CK: is Nizbel really a Godlike? It's egregiously undamaging (i.e. healers take forever to beat him, but they can do it with enough resource depth), outside the lightning discharge it doesn't even have when not being spoiled by thunder it 6HKOs with physicals on a good day. Being spoilable by Lightning (one of the most common elements) and ITD damage isn't all that great either. Heavy, I totally can see, but Godlike...

(I mean, he's pretty much an easier to interpret Retinite with a lot more HP but far worse damage and spoiled by a more common element)

ITD and lightning are both relatively rare, and he has 40PCHP if you lack both. That's pretty much auto-Godlike even with 5-6HKO damage. He can also definitely beat Heavies with lightning (unless they also resist lightning themselves) since attack x2 + Discharge is a KO to average and you only get two turns of "real" damage before he gets that off.

EDIT: Retinite is weak to non-elemental magic, while I don't believe Nizbel is. Would need to doublecheck that though...
EDIT: Confirmed. Retinite's defence against magic comes from elemental defences, hence Tail Spin working on him. Nizbel's protection from magic comes from his MDef stat of 100 (1 higher than the normal cap and reduces magic damage by ~95% compared to average enemies).

Anyway the point is that Nizbel is actually protected against non-elemental magic unlike Retinite, which easily makes up for the difference between ice and lightning in frequency, and makes him at least as good as Retinite even if you think the latter's better offence/worse HP is a winning trade, and the latter is Godlike already.

This is kinda nitpicking, but he needs a third attack to land a KO, average HP is 320 there (Discharge is 175, his best damage other than that is 50 tops). This is more convincing me that Retinite -shouldn't- be Godlike than that Nizbel should, though, for all that his durability coming from defenses DOES help his case immensely, since he's harder to spoil without elements (and even to me, he's like 32x PC HP after defenses). The odd case of dueller who beats Chelle yet eats it to Vivi.

Well Vivi has literally everything which spoils Nizbel (healing, lightning damage, AND lightning resistance). Citan also loses to Kimahri, Miguel loses to Malak, etc.

Oops, I mixed up the damage and HP figures for Nizbel. Still, against a pure average opponent with lightning, it is worth noting that Nizbel does in fact get that third non-Discharge attack in before their third hit of real damage.

Jeff may have been ranked in Heavy, but he's actually closer to Light than Heavy, Malcolm. May swing Middle (the damage is mean against Light of the frail and slow people), but utterly over his head in Heavy.
