Dark Knight Cecil Harvey (FF4) vs
Blue Mage (FF5) - Aegis Shield => Blue Magery.
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs Ness (EB) - Death.
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs
Albel Nox (SO3) - No death, Vampiric Flash takes care from there.
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs
Shadow (FF6) - No death, no physicals.
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs
Tohru Adachi (Pers4) - Why does Cecil's elemental reliance even -matter- here? He's ID-bait and 4HKOs Adachi anyway. That's not working out for him.
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs Nina Wyndia (BoF2) - Faster death.
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs
Gen (SaGa) - No death -and- the parry game does horrible things to his offense anyway.
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs Moltres (PKMN) - Death.
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs Kashell (VP1) - :darkknightcecil:
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs Flay Gunnar (MK1) - :dkcecil:
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs Crowley (S1) - :dkc:
Dark Knight Cecil Harvey vs Tio (G2) - :donkeykongcountry:
7-5. DKC Tropical ID.
Basilio (FE13) vs
Blue Mage (FF5) - Mind Blast is pretty great against PCs, yeah.
Basilio vs
Ness (EB) - Pure physical slugfesting against Ness, that's working out
great.
Basilio vs Albel Nox (SO3) - I really have no idea what the hell can Albel do here, confusion isn't really great and he rams into Basilio's horrifying anti-melee game if he wants to do anything worthwhile.
Basilio vs
Shadow (FF6) - Invis Edge.
Basilio vs
Tohru Adachi (Pers4) - Basilio only 3HKOs Adachi, so yeah, Mudoon takes care of this.
Basilio vs Nina Wyndia (BoF2) - Nina2 pdur is noticeably sub-Yulie, who gets borderline OHKOed by Basilio herself at -best-. Uh yeah.
Basilio vs
Gen (SaGa) - Lifesprinkler not being melee likely tips this definitely to Gen. WTA and the evade game certainly don't -hurt-.
Basilio vs Moltres (PKMN) - HAND AXE COUNTERS yeah that probably does a number on Fire Spin spam anyway.
Basilio vs Kashell (VP1) - WTD is a slight problem, but uh I think Kashell doesn't even 2HKO Basilio and he's slamming into counters and Counter all day long. Very poor combination against Basilio.
Basilio vs
Flay Gunnar (MK1) - Buster Star spamming sure works.
Basilio vs Crowley (S1) - Congrats, Crowley, you're physically frailer than
Marle.
Basilio vs Tio (G2) - Tio's not too good.
6-6. Yeah, that's a pretty balanced performance.
Tharja (FE13) vs
Blue Mage (FF5) - Mindblast soloing this field so far.
Tharja vs Ness (EB) - I even -do- understand people kneejerking against Tomebreaker vs. status magic, but eh. There are actually a couple precedents for non-staff-based magical status in the series (FE8's petrify long-ranged tome, FE5's poison tomes, both of which ram against evasion), so I'm okay with that alternative. This fight, regardless, is utterly bizarre. Psi Rockin' is a no-no (Tomebreaker makes it fail and it really eats into Ness' resources) and his offensive alternative against Tharja gets -entirely nulled by Nosferatu- outside criticals... which, in turn, get handled by counter+Nos on average. And, uh, his base accuracy on the status spells is 50%, this doesn't get past Tomebreaker ever. Pretty sad.
Tharja vs Albel Nox (SO3) - I s'pose. Don't think I see MP draining working against people without MP.
Tharja vs Shadow (FF6) - Shadow no likey mages.
Tharja vs Tohru Adachi (Pers4) - Bolganone and Tomebreaker handle Adachi, surely.
Tharja vs Nina Wyndia (BoF2) - Welp, that's a 2HKO.
Tharja vs Gen (SaGa) - sure why not
Tharja vs Moltres (PKMN) - Counters vs. Fire Spin, arguable Tomebreaker shenanigans -and- Thoron hits a weakness. That's some pretty fireworks.
Tharja vs
Kashell (VP1) - I s'pose.
Tharja vs
Flay Gunnar (MK1) - Burping Elfboy, mostly.
Tharja vs Crowley (S1) - Tomebreaker makes Crowley pretty danged sad.
Tharja vs Tio (G2) - Um.
9-3. Uh this was weird.
Cordelia (FE13) vs
Blue Mage (FF5) - Aegis Shield to the rescue once again.
Cordelia vs Ness (EB) - EDIT: Shield lasts three -hits- instead of three turns? Yeah, this is just hello-goodbye. There's a chance Ness might run her out of Brave Lance charges -anyway-, but I'm inclined to see a double happening before that holistically.
Cordelia vs Albel Nox (SO3) - lol OHKO.
Cordelia vs
Shadow (FF6) - nope.jpg
Cordelia vs Tohru Adachi (Pers4) - Cordelia two-rounds Adachi and his damage just isn't good enough to get her even hitting weakness, nor is his ID accurate enough. His physical resistance can only go so far.
Cordelia vs Nina Wyndia (BoF2) - Holy crap, she's dangerously close to -OHKOing- Nina. Not one-rounding, OHKOing.
Cordelia vs
Gen (SaGa) - Rule of thumb: if you're non-negligibly above average, you avoid doubles from Cordy. That said, don't think it matters much: Gen's anti-physical game works wonders here and he 2HKOs himself.
Cordelia vs Moltres (PKMN) - Javelin tossing works out its magic.
Cordelia vs Kashell (VP1) - Going melee against Cordelia when you get doubled, this is such a great idea, Kashy.
Cordelia vs Flay Gunnar (MK1) - Cordy offense is just ravenous against the slow. Even Blocker isn't enough to slow this down and Flay has no hope of killing her before his second turn.
Cordelia vs Crowley (S1) - Actually, I -think- she just OHKOs. Close, though.
Cordelia vs Tio (G2) - She doesn't double, but that doesn't -matter- much. Tio offense is pretty anemic and I don't really have much respect for G2 evade.
9-3. Welp. Don't let the Peggy double you, kids.
Also, out of idle curiosity...
Dark Knight Cecil vs Shadow (FF6) I see Dark Wave piercing vanish and image. Don't respect its damage and then there's the fact it costs 1/8 of Cecil's Max HP. Shadow Edge still buys Shadow enough time to kill first.
I really have to ask, why precisely? In both games, Image/Vanish wall literally all physical-typed attacks, regardless of being evadable or not (and I don't think Dark Wave is even -proven- to rock ITE). I guess the argument would be there if MT physicals got past it, but I can't even remember if there -are- enemy MT physicals in FF4, and I'm pretty sure stuff like Ultros' tentacle (both MT -and- ITE) doesn't break through FF6 Vanish either...
