Final Fantasy Autobattle Will Tear Us Apart - Farming for gil, mostly. I already have well over 100 Lightning, Wind and Power Orbs, which should be plenty to get the incoming Dual Delay to R4 at minimum, and that'll be pretty helpful for the also incoming bonus battles of the FF14 event. Hopefully, I'll be able to rip Ifrit into tiny ribbons with that Keep of the Saints and Lominsan Bow. The extra Growth Eggs from the initial event quests will also go straight to Zack, since he's a requirement on most of the relevant masteries in his event. It shouldn't be hard anyway, I'm pretty set for FF7 synergy (Diamond Pin, a 4+* Masamune Blade, an Edincoat, an Adamant Bangle. Those should keep things very simple). It's good to be back into a steady influx of stuff to do, and there also should be a Dungeon Update next week at the latest.
Final Fantasy 7 - Currently up to North Corel. When I was a kid, I used to grind all the way to L30 on Mythril Cave to have the HP to pick up Beta and farm Ethers from Ark Dragons. Surprise, surprise, all of those are utterly unnecessary. I'm not even L20 right now and I just got Fire 2. The other L2s should follow up shortly. Enemies continue to hilariously suck - you're seriously telling me that there are enemies who still deal 20 damage AT THIS POINT OF THE GAME. I really don't know what were the devs thinking with the damage scaling there. Sometimes, things ST 4HKO when they're lucky! Heck, Jenova BIRTH has a MT 4HKO! Too bad the game hands you powerful MT healing basically for free, and I'm obviously not talking about Aerith's Healing Wind. The balance is seriously out of whack.
Narratively, the game continues to be an odd mess of interesting ideas and wildly fluctuating execution. The tone set for FF7 is often schizophrenic, which gets magnified by the polygonal models.
