Worst. Super Bowl. Ever.

Agreed.

Fuck this entire season - it's a mockery of football. It's only designed to reward the cappuccino sipping, cheating apologist yuppie bandwagon fans that compose the Patriots fandom. Every interesting story dies out in favor of giving the Patriots a miraclous season and an easy opponent that doesn't have what it takes to threaten them in the Super Bowl. This season is undeniable proof that Satan stalks the Earth, for no other dark force could torment every good and true football fan. I hope you don't miss your soul too much, Brady.

Fuck.

This season has honestly killed my interest in (pro) football. College is still awesome though!

Come on now guys, God loves New England and will do anything s/he can to make it easier on them.

The Colts stepped out of their way, Dallas decided to bail, and now it's between Eli and Favre.  All logic points to the Packers winning at home against a mediocre Giants team, but since God wants to hand this Superbowl to the Patriots, Eli is going to have a good game and beat the Packers.

LT will go down in the 1st quarter against the Pats.

Then in the superbowl Eli will throw more touchdown passes than Brady... to the Patriots of course.

This.

May I honestly ask why? I've seen a few people make this remark throughout the playoffs (usually after a New England win >_>) and I have to wonder how much of a football fan you were initially if you let a single season kill your interest (unless that season was a strike-shortened one or one where multitudes of players were busted for illegal performance-enhancing drugs or something).

Normally I'm content to let this sort of person whine their way to the bank (one less fraud fan to deal with!), but I respect you a hell of a lot more than anyone else I've seen "give up" on football, so I want to hear the rationale.

Note that I don't really watch football.
This looks to be the most boring slaughter ever.  See, the Packers can play when they're on, it's genuinely entertaining to watch them.  The Giants are a comedy of errors in motion and it's mind-numbing that they've lucked their way this far.  Meanwhile, with the media hype ALONE the Patriots deserved a big loss in the big game, one that Eli couldn't pull off even with divine intervention.  In short, in order to hand them their perfect season giftwrapped we get the most boring game ever rather than a real match between a rejuvinated legend and a seeming team-of-destiny.
Oh well.

Well I meant in this particular season. The outcome has been decided even before the battle began (as Ziggy would say!). I'll be back next year, cheering for... someone. <_< I don't watch football with any real team that I root for or anything, so my main interest is the objective competition of the sport, for the most part. And a dominating team kind of hurts that competition.

Well, the Super Bowl certainly isn't a given. Are we all forgetting Week 17 already? When Burress and Jacobs were both hurt and New York still only lost by 3?

As long as you're not giving up on football forever, though, I guess I can see where you're coming from.

I'm just annoyed that, as a Pats hater, the best-case scenario is to have Eli Manning holding the Lombardi Trophy.

Nothing would eclipse a perfect season story more than an upset in the Super Bowl and a back-to-back brother win.

I feel sorry for Farve and really wanted him to get one last ring for old times sake.

But It'll be so hilarious to hear the words "Eli Manning is the Superbowl MVP."

Of course, it won't happen because the refs/media are too busy sucking Brady's cock.

Oh yeah, Rivers is really a fucking jackass.  Taunting Indy fans while Billy Volek ran SD's winning touchdown drive.

But all the interceptions and fumbles just meant he was letting Eli win. He's just that nice of a guy.
Don't think of it as a novel. Think of it as a chance to retroactively win every argument you have ever walked away from.

WHERE'S YOUR PRETTYBOY ACTOR QUARTERBACK NOW? Um, with a Super Bowl ring, unlike you you pompous jackass! Also, does Rivers seriously think Peyton is 'pretty'? He needs his eyes checked. >_>

Quoting myself for truth.  Let me clarify... 0 interceptions is a good day for Eli.

Rookie TE Kevin Boss is going to catch every one of Eli's TD passes, AND run a fumble in for a TD or something and grab the MVP obviously... or not.  Boss is the only player in the NFL from my college right now, so at least I can technically root for him and not Eli since... go figure the Giants are also one of my 5 least favorite NFL teams.  (Pats, Lions, Giants, Dolphins, and... shit if I know.)

Thanks a bunch, God.  Can I count on you in 2 weeks?

Also, can you think of a single person more relieved to see a Giants win that their kicker?

Rivers is only a notch below Burress. Talking smack to people on the field with you is one thing. Talking smack to his teammates on the sidelines is another.
