No one had remade this topic yet, so...

Pro Bowl rosters were announced today. You can find them here.

Yes, that is Sean Taylor you see starting at Free Safety for the NFC. Hopefully they'll do the 10-men-on-the-field thing they did in the Buffalo/Washington game for the first play.

Also hopefully Belicheck won't call a fake kneel -> bomb to Moss on that play. >_>

Anyway, with Pro Bowl lists come Pro Bowl snubs. The ones I came up with when I thought about it for 30 seconds were Derek Anderson, David Garrard, Jeff Garcia, Fred Taylor, Clinton Portis, Marques Colston, Greg Jennings, Mario Williams and Nnamdi Asomugha. Anyone else want to weigh in?

I hope he does, just because that would mean Belichick would be coaching the Pro Bowl for a second straight year and that would make me very happy.

Garrard is one of the biggest snubs I noticed. Him over Big Ben should be an easy call this year. Same with Fred Taylor over Willie "Three Feet And A Cloud Of Dust" Parker.

Driver deserved it more than Jennings did this year, and QBs? Garcia was decent but Favre/Romo had MVP level seasons and Hasselbeck was also pretty awesome.

Nick Barnett deserved to go as well.

Garrard and Taylor were the big AFC snubs, though Mario Williams is up there. Barrett Ruud also deserves mentioning here, though the NFC had a lot of great linebackers this year.

Garcia was more a "shame he couldn't get in" snub. I would've taken the same 3 guys that went.

Jennings, on the other hand, has more TDs and higher YPC, YAC and YPG averages than Driver. The only reaosn Driver has more catches and yards is because Jennings was hurt at the beginning of the year.

Stats don't tell the full story. Driver's been drawing doubleteams all season, to the point where that teams will leave a linebacker on Jennings to stick a safety and their best corner on Driver. He's had a monster year besides for the TD's and in spite of drawing the coverage- to the point where that losing him would be as bad as losing Favre on the offense.

Donald Lee was also a snub (500+ yards, 5 TDS) but there were two elite TD's. Kellen mothfuckin Winslow also had the same issue.

ahem...

MIAMI WON A GAME!

The rest of the season means nothing to me.

That is of course unless the Colts beat the Patriots in the playoffs like I expect.

Mighty Ducks 2, you'll see!

Oh, Tampa looks strong.

I haven't looked at the list, but if Colston really isn't on it then the NFL is full of a bunch of idiots!  He's young, he'll get plenty in his day, but still...

As for DA... I'm a big fan of his, but sadly he didn't get snubbed.  Brady, Manning, and Roth all had better seasons sadly.

Hmmm

I just saw a clip on EXPN saying that Wayne )I cry because I am an alligator) Huizinga is still going to go forward with trying to sell the Dolphins.

Bet on me not following my fandom if they leave Miami.

Funny how quickly things change. Wayne assures us that he will not sell the Dolphins, and now the Big Tuna, Bill Parcells has jumped onto the ship. He has been signed as the VP of operations for the Dolphins.

That has to be a good thing, right!?

Parcells? Hell yes. The man is a genius when it comes to turning around a franchise.

Of course, he turned around teams like Dallas, who went 5-13, not what is possibly the worst team the NFL has ever seen...

I dunno, I still think the first Bucs team was worse. <_<

But otherwise yes.  Parcells has his work cut out for him.  I'm sure he can do it, it just might take him a couple years longer than usual.

The '07 Dolphins aren't the worse team the NFL has ever seen.

A lot of teams have only won one game. Plus the season isn't over and they still have the Bungles left to play!

With that said, the Yucs are by far the worst. My sweet sweet Yuccaneers.

I'd put them in the top three, easy. If they go 1-15, they've lost more games than the 0-14 Bucs, so worse than them. They're up there with the Oilers, on account of the coaching.

Well, how do you know those Bucs wouldn't have lost two more given the chance to play them?  You can't really use that as a measurement.

IMO Miami isn't even the worst team in the league this year. I'd take them over the likes of Oakland and Atlanta.

I hate the Dallas Cowboys so very, very much.  It'd be awesome if Washington could beat them twice in three weeks.

Post from a Falcons fan at another board I go to. I had no idea the team was ran this badly.

Quote
I'm gonna make a list of all the misfortunes of the Falcons over the past 20 years. This is just off the top of my head. One thing that pops out is how fucking horrible the team is at drafting, and they constantly trade away first round picks:

1987: Falcons offer Parcells the head coaching job, he agrees but backs out much like he did this time. Falcons instead hire Marion Campbell, who ends up with a career record of 17-51.

1988: Falcons have the #1 overall pick thanks to Campbell's ineptitude, draft epic bust Aundray Bruce.

1989: Falcons go 3-13, but a year earlier traded away their first round pick (#2 overall).

1990: Falcons hire Jerry Glanville. He promptly reserves season tickets for Elvis and MC Hammer.

1991: Falcons draft Brett Favre.

1992: Falcons trade Brett Favre for Green Bay's first round pick. Picks ends up being RB Tony Smith. Yeah.

1993: Deion Sanders, the only good player on the team, has an acrimonious fallout with the team and leaves.

1994: Falcons hire June Jones. Trade away #7 overall pick in the draft to division rival 49ers which ends up being Bryant Young. The Jeff George Era begins.

1995: Falcons draft CB Devin Bush with their first round pick.

1996: Falcons trade away both their first AND second round picks. Nobody from this draft is even on the team two years later.

1997: Falcons draft CB Michael Booker with their first round pick. Another epic bust who is cut a year later.

1998: Holy shit, the Falcons are in the Super Bowl? Oh wait, Eugene Robinson.

1999: We went to the Super Bowl last year, we don't need our first round pick! Let's trade it for a second rounder this year! Oh wait, Jamal Anderson's knee explodes. We just traded the #5 overall for Reggie Kelly!

2000: No first round pick thanks to above, Jamal is still hurt, Falcons go 4-12.

2001: Here's a brilliant idea: Let's pass on getting LaDainian and trade up for Vick instead! After all, Jamal Anderson is healthy anyway! Yeah, until week 2 when he blows out his knee again.

2002: Arthur Blank buys the team develops an unhealthy mancrush on Michael Vick.

2003: Vick needs WEAPONS, let's trade our first round pick for Peerless Price! Oh yeah, Vick gets injured in preseason, Falcons go 5-11, Dan Reeves is fired, Rich McKay is hired.

2004: Jim Mora hired. Jason Webster signed. DeAngelo Hall drafted.

2005: Falcons sign epic FA bust Ed Hartwell to huge contract. Falcons start season 6-2, finish 2-6. Vick admits he quit playing hard for god knows whatever reason. Maybe he needed more energy to focus on dog fighting.

2006: Falcons trade yet another first round pick for John Abraham. Start season 5-2 and finish at 7-9. Mora openly pines for Washington job and is fired. Petrino is hired.

2007: Well, you know.

Woohoo, 16-0!

Finally picked up a Moss jersey about 90 minutes before tonight's game (still need to pick up Daisuke Matsuzaka and Ray Allen jerseys). Glad I grabbed it for a pre-broken-record price. >_>

Still, 16-0 means nothing without a 3-0 following it.

Fucking Browns, just beat the damn Bengals last week and you'd a had it...

Oregon/Oregon State QBs who started at least 1 game this year = 5
Oregon/Oregon State QBs who made it to the playoffs = 0

Cool!
