I refuse to shell out money for a new computer, #green #stopwaste #poor. I have a question and hope someone here has an idea. How do I prevent the annoying popups that tell me my browser (Firefox, Safari) are currently unsupported? I -know- that FIREFOX AND SAFARI. I cannot upgrade anything on my 2009 Mac unless I buy a new one, which I will not do. HDD died Jan 2015 but fixed that at a third party place for the cheap, and really like the idea of keeping things until they're completely ruined.

Unless someone has a -girl, internet atks r super srs just get a new comp- message.

I don't do anything but write or browse tho.

I have no idea and wouldn't be surprised if there isn't an answer that doesn't involve buying a new computer because macs are horrible in this arena and Apple can do whatever they want with it because all their hardware is proprietary. I know literally 0 mac users who have had their computer for longer than 6 years without being forced to buy a new one after so many years.

Not helpful I know and I hope you can find a fix but you may be proper fucked.

I "hear" that I should just download Firefox 16 and use my computer and acknowledge the risk like one does the pullout method.

Still wondering what good life choices are, still not making them. At least I have a career now, sorta.

Good lord the Jeep has become one of the more reliable things in my life. This is not good. The aforementioned bad life choice is the only person who actually likes my Jeep (and likes driving it even). It's like I see all the proof in front of me to run screaming and I completely ignore it. E: Of course one of my O2 sensors is going bad AGAIN but that's a different story.

Download and accept the risks I think is the way. Unsupported hardware isn't saying it won't work, tibia just that it isn't tested and if it breaks they dunno about it.

Don't know how it has been on OSX but Firefox has been getting some mad bloat happening over the last few years on Windows. You might want to think about something like Chromium if you want an alternative that is outside the Google machine. Or just Chrome if you don't mind.

I'm sticking with Chrome. I just tried three different (and the latest) versions of Chromium and could not install. And you're right, I'm using Firefox right now and it is very clunky. I have Firefox 16 and about ten minutes into use, I received the ugly yellow not-updated message. So I'm deleting Firefox; honestly, I should just go back to Safari except now I cannot upgrade my Flash or Java or whatever. Bah. I wish that not supporting older browsers/older comps was illegal.

Edit* So I'm using Opera.

I actually don't really care about achieving things? My problem is just pure self centered "death is closer, youth is leaving me"ism
I only hang with people between 21 and 25 so being 30 is pretty bad. Now there's a pretty big symbolic gap

But yeah it's going to be better. Also, Neon Demon: Really gross. The Lobster: Didn't like it.

Flash is basically being pushed out the door by all the browsers at once. It's not being updated anymore and a lot of its functionality has been taken over by HTML5 (YouTube, for example, just switched over to that) so browsers are blocking it by default because the security gaps are no longer being fixed.

But yeah Zenny's right, you use a Mac so eventually something is gonna get fucked and you have to buy a whole new machine.

Ooooooh.

I've been using Opera 37, but my videos don't always load. Looks like I'll rely on the good 'ole Xbox for my Youtubes. I really can't express how ancient a computer after 7 years feels, but I'll deal. When this laptop is FUBAR, hopefully there'll be a brand out there not forcing people into the $1200 every 5 years upgrade. I hear some people with Microsoft supported laptops had Windows 10 auto-installed without consent? Where does one find respite?

Probably off the Internet, because otherwise there's no escape from constant updates of software companies trying to close security exploits.

e: Although it might actually be LESS work to just cut China, Russia, South Africa and the former Yugoslavia off the internet at this point.
