Sigrid - Nice message, and certainly a unique take. Sad to say it didn't do much work for me though. There is a part where a light drum+backing comes in and that kind of undercuts the idea for me, like, why have that section instead of just the raw vocal 100%? And... well. There's a big ol watermark on the account name and in the corner of every frame of the video. This hot take on "letting artists be raw" brought to you by VEVO, McDonalds, Facebook and Coca-Cola, yknow? I'm sad because I want to like it more but eh.
Parry Gripp - Makes ears happy. Is fun. Not a lot else to say.
Awolnation - And this one I don't know what to say. Good. Sticks in my mind.
Louisa - This is really well made, I think. There's a lingering feel like I should think this is "trashy," but tbh I think that's societal racism talking. I wonder if this is one of the ones MC thought was not her genre, because I think just under the surface it resembles a lot of the Kpop we see in this thread. Good stuff.
melodysheep - Well. If we hadn't just recently picked that History of the Universe one, I'd slam this in a heartbeat. But this is very similar to that, and much more compressed in scope. So I dunno.
Lil Dicky - Okay, yeah, good humor, I was interested and went back to rewatch the parts I was distracted during, that's a good sign. Not much going on musically but it is funny and memorable.
Songify the News - As described. I found Lil Dicky funnier, mostly because thinking about the news makes me want to cry, set things on fire, or both.
Hard rank here. Not so hot on Sigrid and Songify the News, but the rest are all around the same level and melodysheep can go anywhere. Just gonna write an order on enjoyment.
