In my opinion, Awakening Pro is the best overall one to farm.  Gets you 0-3 Sacred crystals per run (I'd say 1 on average), which still works out better than the 1 crystal every 3 runs or so of intermediate.  Plus lots of other mats for newer 5-star characters.  Sacred crystal farming sucks in general.  I need 18 more just to 5-star Krile and Galuf.

So I just did a daily 250 pull and it was a blue crystal which transformed to a gold crystal which transformed to a rainbow crystal, I was confused and then very confused until I realized ...

What did the crystal end up being?

Anyway, the end of the Story update is great. Got Billy Lee BlackNichol!

The important gameplay part of this is that the last area's exploration yields the ATK+10% materia, which will help my DPS quite a bit.

Spent $10 or $20 to do an 11-pull.

Clyne, Anzelm, Krile, Locke, Exdeath, Lani, Cerius, Exdeath, Luna, Fran, Maria.

So the only units of note were the 2x Exdeath and maybe the Locke.

I want a 5* Penelo :(  Didn't think those existed.

It was Gilgamesh. Morphing time, I thought after the changing crystal thing was something they did specially for him but apparently not.

Very nice.  He's a good aoe attacker.  Dump any Trust Moogles you get into him, his TM is seriously the best in the game.

The changing crystal thing is just extra drama they add to make you excited, there is literally no difference between that and pulling a gold/rainbow crystal naturally.

Those of you doing the new story dungeons, be prepared for the boss of Subterranean Stream.  You need a Thundaga-based magic team or you can try to status him with Black Cat Lid.  Don't Full Break him when he's low on health or he super buffs himself.

EDIT:  Did another 11-pull, because Gilgamesh is the only character left that I want/need.  No Gilgamesh, but I got a whopping 6 4-stars.

Half-price draw done.

Got Gilgamesh.

Still wondering if I should whale on this banner, because a 5x 6*Exdeath arena team just sounds funny to imagine.

Nice luck on getting both Elza AND Gilgamesh...

I played poker in a friendly game with Rat and some friends. $20 buy in, $10 rebuys that a few people took.  Rat hand a pile of coins he put up as the base Kitty.  It came down at the end that we decided too 3 split the buy in and winner take the coins.   I came third and was pretty happy with this.  Up $35 after buy in, paid for some of the stuff I bought today.

*sigh* RNG gonna RNG. Still no Gilgamesh crystal for me...

Anyway, I finally beat Elite Gilgamesh by constantly running the 1-stamina dungeon and looking for a whale friend summon (amusingly the first one I found was also a Gilgamesh). Having flashbacks of FFRK's Advance RW meta.

Dammit FFBE, I should not be having flashbacks of FFRK's Advance RW meta.

tl;dr: Gilgamesh gilgamesh gilgamesh greg gilgamesh with some gilgamesh.

Finished Olderion story, then spent last couple of days leveling Bartz to 100.

We're getting Noctis from FF15 in December at the same time as Japan, so yay maybe?

Finally completed Big Bridge ELT!

Elza 6*100
BC Lid 5*80
WoL 5*80
Tilith 5*80

Friend: CoD 6*100 w/Dual Wield Thorned Mace/Rising Sun.

Blew through a few X-Potions and three Elixirs to complete all the tasks at the same time.  Was thinking I was going to have to grind Refia to 85 and replace Tilith with her, but at the moment, I'm glad I didn't, since the MT Heal + Status Recovery turned out to be a clutch turnaround.  Other things that wound up being important: Elza using Ravaging Blow instead of Madness Rush, as that came out to more damage with CoD than Madness Rush + Barrage; BC Lid having the Mirage Vest to cast Mirage - it didn't soak Missiles, but it soaked attacks and Launches, and maybe Death Claws as well, I didn't notice that too well; and using Warrior of Light over Vaan - BC Lid could equip Baraerora, so the extra tankiness and passable Cura was helpful.

My Gilgamesh is now sitting at 40% Trust.

EDIT: Ahahaha and clearing that fight didn't count as a Vortex Quest completed!

Also beat Gilgamesh Elite today, and reading Magic's post I see what I did wrong.

Bartz (Item use, help damage with occasional barrage)
Kefka (damage with Hyperdrive, secondary item user)
Luneth (damage with Cut Through/Raging Fist, tertiary item user)
Cecil (Provoke, defend, backup Curaja, emergency limit break)
Refia (Embolden, Curaja, Full Life)
friend Lightning - 576 attack (damage with Crashing Blow/Raging Fist)

So I didn't use Baraerora, which explains why Cecil was getting beaten so badly (wind weak with Golem esper).  Heavy item use, used 5 Holy Torches, 3 Phoenix Downs, 1 Elixir, 7 Remedies (forgot Unicorn Horns).  Lightning should have been replaced with Luneth instead since Luneth is immune to blind and paralyze.  Bartz was mvp just by virtue of not dying and being tanky enough to survive X Slash (I'd use Holy Torch with Bartz on Vengeance turns and defend with everyone else).  Everyone else died at least once except Lightning.

So yeah, half-assed preparations but I got it done.  Not going to redo it for the twenty lapis I missed.

Funny enough, I packed Holy Torches, but...  He never cast Vengeance on my winning run since I was killing him too fast.  Other failed attempts involved me hitting him with a Full Break after he cast Vendetta, and then he'd use Weapon Regen to Dispel himself.

RE: CT and Penelo:

Apparently a 5* Penelo's is in the JPN version.  List here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFBraveExvius/wiki/units/081

Clearly I need better friends.  :(

Beat Antenolla with the previously mentioned team.  More annoying than Gilgamesh with the MP drain, but easier overall because much less HP.  Mmm, Thorned Mace.

Argh! I still can't beat that damn plant! MP drain is killing me. I don't want to have to use all my Elixirs constantly. They're slightly easier to get nowadays thanks to the Arena Boards but still...

Clearly I need better friends.  :(

I just sent a request to a whale on Reddit who advertised what he was using.  They accepted it in a day, and I managed to beat the event three days later.

EDIT: So, the FF13 event dropped.  I'm seeing a bunch of gear that's for FF13 characters only...  Which easily throws them lower on the list of required stuff for me.

EDIT 2: Okay, so, the Winged Guardian actually looks like a legit tanking weapon, what with having 44 DEF on it...  Does this mean that WoL can basically go Double Shield?

Yeah WoL is probably the best user of that fist, especially when he gets his 6-star.

Looks like Gilgamesh isn't going to happen for me, so I blew my accumulated Trust Moogles on Maxwell's TM.  578 attack on Luneth now.

And wow they managed to make an event that sucks more than Brave Frontier.

I really like Snow, so I did an 11-pull and got zero FF13 characters... despite all of them being 4* or less base. Frustrating. I used all my tickets and got some Sazh's though.

But all the random pulling -did- get me Firion, Lenna, and WoL. Those would have been helpful about 5 events ago... At least WoL will eventually be worth something.

So, I did some reading on Reddit to see what other people had to say about why this event is so bad.

The good:
Sazh/Vanille/Snow give a bonus to gear drops now.
Winged Saint actually fills a decent niche.

The neutral:
The event now lasts two weeks instead of one.
Moral Talisman is a Hyper Wrist with an auto +20% ATK that doesn't stack with other ATK boosts.

The bad:
This was one of the earliest farming events in FFBEJP.  They didn't change the drop rates at all for us.
All the stuff that was in JP is now somewhere between 2-3 times as expensive, on top of all the extra stuff available.

EDIT1:
12/05 Daily Draw gives me...  Terra.  Okay, sure.  Still need to decide if I want to go for a second Gilgamesh, see if there's a second banner with Lightning on it, or hoard tickets for whenever Ludmille shows up on a banner again.

EDIT2:
Event's been giving me lots of Megacite.  Things I found out: the Esper upgrade battles count as Explorations!

Would you guys like a moderately geared Sazh (level 80) as friend unit to help farm event or regular OP Luneth?

OP Luneth please.

Also, today's daily half-price pull netted me a Snow, so at least I've gotten one character I actually wanted from a banner I spent too much Lapis/Tickets on! (Alas, Gilgamesh~)

Anyway, since I'm probably one of the few people who actually likes Snow, I have immediately 6-starred him and he could actually be a useful Friend Unit in the near future if you need a Tank or if you want me to toss my Dual Wield materia on him and have him try to be a DPS unit. Otherwise, I've got max Cecil and max Demon Lasswell. I have max CoD too, but I have basically no weapons for her, so that's a terrible idea.
