EoSD: ran through this once just for fun.

...

Why did no one ever tell me this game had a boss that was a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure homage?
Rocky: you do know what an A-bomb is, right?
Bullwinkle: A-bomb is what some people call our show!
Rocky: I don't think that's very funny...
Bullwinkle: Neither do they, apparently!

"hey, are there are any JoJo homages in EoSD?"

can't see it, really.  s'like asking,

"hey, is there an elephant in my peanut butter?"

'cept that it involves more knives and less peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

NGIII-Finished. Stage 7 is hell. Way, way too long, annoying deathtraps and the increased damage doesn't help either. As a matter of fact, it's more or less impossible to finish in one life because you will run out of time in the stage, or during the 3 bosses, which you do not get a new timer for. Faiiiiil. On a brighter note, the actual bosses are pretty easy. Game itself is just alright. Mostly easy except for Stage 7. Pretty sure I consider NG1 the hardest, with NGIII and NG2 trailing behind respectively.

No idea what I'll do now.
Don't think of it as a novel. Think of it as a chance to retroactively win every argument you have ever walked away from.

God Hand- Picked up again, finally beaten. Oddly, the Let's Play of this that started showed me a couple of interesting techniques that took me from 'Argh frustrating whatever I quit' to "almost, almost, whew, made it!'. I don't claim to be GOOD at it- I finished with a 1.9 average level- but it was very ludicrously enjoyable. Oddly feels very Grasshopper- maybe Suda51 had drinks with the Clover team before The End Times?

Zack and Wiki- Started. Fun at the start. Oddly strikes me as more fun with more than one person, so they can suggest solutions/methods/and such. There ought to be a really good co-op puzzle game, sometime.

Brawl- You guys keep pummeling me. Thinking of putting in serious time with Pokemon Trainer- then again, I like Zappa in Guilty Gear. It'll have to wait.

Twilight Princess- It's...on my shelf? I should get back to it, I'm two dungeons in. This is ordinarily where Zelda Games pick up.

Billy vs. Snakeman- Looping into S3 tomorrow. Hit Sannin, Whoo~ Going to try Redeye, I think, since it's the only one I haven't done.

SRWW: Got past the timeskip, now almost up to the Mazinkaiser movie. Game is fairly typical non-D SRW - shiny, fun, fairly easy. Notable stuff...

Valguard is absurd. Battleship HP, Super defense, mid-level Real dodging, Super damage, battleship range, and a MAP. Oh, and six pilots. What the hell, Banpresto.

Shin Getter Robo has never been this overpowered, at least in the games that I've seen. It tanks, it OHKOs grunts with free 1-3 P attacks that Multicombo, it evades, it has viable damage for Getter 2 and Getter 3...and that's before Shin Shine Spark, Dynamic Double Impact and Final Dynamic Special. Yeesh.

Astray Red Frame is pretty ridiculous, if only because at the rate it's going it'll have seven different finishers by chapter 50. It's an impressive real overall, though, and the free finisher (katana slash) is pretty nice.

The Tekkaman army is pretty sweet. Evasive, decent power, tons of combos, good support pilots, and Double/Triple Vol Tekka spam kills things dead. It's a pity you have to give up some nice stuff to get Rapier, because seven of them in one fight would be pretty awesome.

C34 Gauron...hardest midgame SRW boss ever? Possibly. 170 Will, combos, ridiculous accuracy and doubleacts! Wow. He killed three of my fighters in one attack before I had any idea how dangerous he was, and I ended the battle early rather than let him get a second turn. Why is the SEED desert level always so painful?

FFTLW: Just got Cloud, and along the way, got the Ultimate Javelin and Gold Escutcheon!

Took me forever to get the UJ...mostly cause it took me a while to realize that the weapon WASN'T Gold.  Actually, I got the weapon thought it was the regular Javelin, decided to humor myself, win the fight and see if it was...and then I saw it grant +16 Power over the Holy Lance so...yeah, learned I wasted a lot of time basically, since I had definitely gotten it on earlier runs through that map ;_;

(though, those Runs weren't insured to get th Gold Escutcheon, so this might be a blessing in disguise.)

Atelier Iris: Started this up.  Game isn't bad on documentation, and tutorials are pretty descriptive and concise.  The game takes forever to really get started though.

As in, I'm an hour into the game and haven't actually gone to any real dungeons.  I was thinking "oh, Tower! That'll be my first dungeon, I'll play past that!" only to learn it was basically just a teaser of "Warp to top, some plot, that's it!"

AI is a bit odd like that Meep.  There isn't really many traditional dungeons and it isn't until a fair way into the game that there is even a long one.  The documentation drops off when you get to twinking sadly.  The FAQs cover it but forging is sub LoM for in game documentation with it, less depth to it, but less documented.

Edit - I do this like every third time I post in the topic?  Address someone and forget to say what I am going to say.

SotN - Got Crisbroken, unsure if I will use it or not, but whatever.  Got Fist of Tulwhatever also.  Think I will just Shield Rod + Medusa Shield the game anyway.

The game also has really bad documentation on how to trigger some of the optional plot scenes, which include the character that is generally the most liked.

OOOH yes a lot of the side quests are shockingly random with flags.  I am still unsure if it is a threshold of a certain number of random flags you need to pass or if each play through of the game randomly picks those flags or if passing certain flags randomly chooses whether or not to activate certain events.

AI is still cool, it does things differently though.

You can't really activate two side-quests at a time, is the primary thing to keep in mind.

XF: 2-1. A map that is challenging because the enemies are numerous and actually have abilities, so you have to play strategically and conserve resources while avoiding the nastier enemy moves. I'll have to put some thought into it. A nice change in pace, but every map being like this could be potentially frustrating. Or awesome. We'll see.

God Hand: So yeah, I started AI last night...then God Hand came in the mail today, figured I'd give that a whirl.

Just beat Elvis.  Game is hilarious but kicks your ass all the damn time.

Its going to take some getting use to (starting to get the hang of it), but...yeah, looks like it'll be fun.

Appolo justice:

For the first time I ran into a Percieve problem that actually stumped me (Case 4).  Ewwwww.   Seriously, I've never used an FAQ for a PW game before, and I didn't want to break that tradition, but that took me about three hours stuck on the same testimony.  It's absurd when you consider that I already knew exactly the point I wanted to make, and the evidence that would support it, but I couldn't present any of that until I caught the witness doing a nervous twitch.

TF2:

9 days of absence don't seem to have screwed me up too much.  I've been playing random class for the past couple of days, which has worked fairly well.  I'm usually very unhappy when I roll Engineer (I could bunker down and live as Engie for 10 minutes, but that defeats the purpose of random class, so I tend to be aggressive, and naturally as soon as I die I'm switching classes).  Spy's another class that seems to be disasterous (I usually only go Spy if I see a clear opening--a path not many people are using, or sentries I need to head for.  Trying to sneak in relatively blind tends to just result in my being spychecked before getting anywhere.  Strangely Sniper has been solid, which is weird since I've usually been terrible at the class.  Demoman has also been very solid, but that's nothing new for me.  My Scout and Medic have been below par, though still decent; I don't know if they require a different mindset that's hard to adjust to for one life or what.

WA5 Replay - Playing the US version this-a-time!! I don't care much for plot/va'ing/whatever, but I was kinda whiny that I didn't remember I needed Duel Sign for breaking Dungeon Sealed Crystals. Whatever, at least my L100 twinked party isn't gone to a total waste yet... I have to contend with some of the Towers and stuff right now. Like Tower O.

MMSFP - Level 100, all cards

I finally managed to beat PegasusMagicSP, then I found that I had left the Z-Finder equipped, which was aggravating. Fortunately I was able to use that as a base save to searcheye him constantly from. Eventually I managed to 10-rank him and get the final card, and I didn't even end up using the combo to do it...
It's now apparent to me why the title screen badges are in no apparent order. How worthwhile, I guess?
Tried several times to beat Andromeda Infinity and have decided not to worry about it for the time being. Regular Andromeda was hard enough... the best I've done against Infinity was get it down to around 1000 HP (and I was almost out of cards at that point, too).
I was missing a HPMem10 and it was in a ludicrously hidden place so I'm glad I looked it up, because I have no idea how I'd have ever found it otherwise.

Zack and Wiki - Beat the Frozen Temple area

Fun continues.
I appear to be missing a fair amount of mysterious treasures and such, but scouring the levels doesn't seem to be turning them up. This is mildly troublesome.
Also have no idea how anyone is supposed to get the fish in the first area in one attempt considering the general unresponsiveness of the wii controller to the required action and the lack of buffering between acting and no-acting phases which results in several actions being triggered under the latter even after having stopped moving. Tsk. It is always possible that I'm missing the point and you're not supposed to be going fishing at all.

Also played EoSD some. Ran through Normal with continues just to see Remilia. She's pretty nuts. Beat her eventually, but a 1cc is a ways off.

AI: About to meet Zeldaria.

If nothing else, the game does the humor thing decently well.  Beggur has been giving me early game Kornell vibes, which is by no means a bad thing (early game Kornell being a *gasp* nonfail character in G3!)

PW3 - Beaten. Last case is easily the best last case in the series, although the ending was anti-climax. Overall... yeah, most solid but least impressive PW game sums it up. Suffers from having the most incompetent, trite, repetitive gimmick of a prosecutor in the series, and from 3-4 being a humourless retread of past cases that could have been better summarised in either 3-1 or 3-5, but otherwise, very well put together. Liked it more than PW1, but not as much as PW2. The gaps between the three games are not large, however.

More rants later, sleepy now.

KOTOR - Cleared Korriban. Huh, didn't know you could actually spare one of them. Anyway, the game hated my abusing of Mission for money and T3 for spikes, so it randomly decided I couldn't have any more of either. Boo. Level 13 across the board. Up next, Tatooine.

Doom - Episode 1, Level 4. Deathmatch is a little disappointing on Live, so I'm going through the single player. Ah, Shotgun, so overpowered in this version. The good old days before there were stronger enemies all over the place who didn't fall to one or two shells to the face.

Bankshot Billiards - Probably the game that's gotten the most play from me on the XBox. I like 9-Ball, and am now in the top 1000 for single-player for it (compared to 11,000 or so in 8-Ball). Trick shots and Golf are going to be a pain.

Puzzle Quest - Played the free trial for this, and I'm impressed. I think I may well buy the full version of this.
