Satan FFT
Complete (no, really).
Balk II:
Excal drew the ace. His setup was Knight with Yin Yang magic, Flame Shied, White Robe, and Defense Armlet--which we had determined to be better than White Magic since he could status the Tiamat first turn, and since Life Drain ignores evade and Excal has good compatibility it's actually our best Balk offense in a lot of ways. Ryan was going with his Geomancer, Icebrand setup rather than his Ninja setup. I was going for Speed 7 and vulnerable to lightning rather than Speed 6 with Rubber Shoes. Elfboy opted for Red Shoes over other accessories.
Ryan teleported in and killed the Hydra. Excal moved next and showed his hand by draining Elfboy's MP (no Meteor). Elfboy used Slow, lowering Excal's speed from 10 to 3. I used CT5 Paralyze hitting the Dark Behemoth but not the Tiamat. We were all being very careful to stay out of Excal's range, since Speed Break on any of us could be devastating (moreso me, but still). Ryan failed a Teleport to kill the Tiamat, so killed the Hyudra who had attacked him instead. And then failed the teleport again, so hit the Chemist (bad compatibility and not weak to ice and stuff). Elfboy decided to give the Countermagic Quick loop a try twice--both times missing the 91% Quick on the good compatibility target, but getting Countermagiced and Quicked himself; this did largely burn his MP and turn him into an item-bot, although he tried to Slow Balk a few times. Eventually Teleport stopped failing and Ryan killed the Tiamat who had been dancing back and forth Tripple thundering Elfboy (usually hitting once for 140 thanks to White Robe, causing survival and an Auto Potion). Slow wore off, Excal finally got a turn and decided to use Sleep on me--in retrospect it should have been Petrify, though in-practice Sleep missed anyway. Ryan hit him while he was charging. Next turn he charged Petrify, though was now in kill range for Ryan. I had Best compatibility with the Chemist, and between my Holies, Ryan's physicals, and Elfboy's Staff Thwack he went down.
At this point it was three people against a Dark Behemoth and Balk. Balk was in stupid mode, so we didn't need to deal with him directly. I had bad compatibility with the Dark Behemoth, so my Holies weren't really chipping much. Ryan was also bad compatibility (same sign as me), and over 300 HP, which meant that he could actually survive a counter-attack, so in the end he just physicalled twice, which was enough once combined with several Holies. But now we needed to revive Excal again, and in doing so Elfboy moved into Balk move+attack range. (In the mean time, I H-Bagged Excal in the back, since he revived with 13 HP and H-Bag is guaranteed to deal at least 14...which is exactly what it did). Unfortunately this combination means that Balk was able to shoot at me again next turn, and typically 2HKOs me. A series of defensive moves followed until I was well out of his range, then I worked on getting everyone Pray Faithed and Hasted. Balk evaded Slow from Elfboy three or four times, and evaded Pray Faith from me (after I was faithed) several times. (The Dark Behemoth dropped a crystal, so we were trying for a Faith-Faith meteor). Finally Faith hits Balk, Elfboy goes in for the double-Faith Meteor, which hits for 480 against Balk's 490 HP. Fortunately Balk was standing on height 7, so I was able to finish him off with Height Prime Number Holy. By this time our X-Potion count, thanks to two people with Item and Auto-Potion, was down to 14-16, so there was some debate as to whether Ryan should head to a height 2 pannel to grab the treasure chest, and risk Auto-Potioning again....
Hashmallum:
Satan never got a turn (me). Ryan and Elfboy both removed Auto-Potion as a reaction to save X-Potions.
Altima:
Both Elfboy and Excal went for Golden Hairpin and Light Robe. Elfboy's reasoning being Quick Countermagic loop (I also went Light Robe to fuel Countermagic). Ryan smashed Altima. Altima locked a fatal Ultima onto Elfboy. Elfboy drew the ace, and opened with Quick on an Ultima Demon (with the hope that it would kill Alma before M-Barrier finishes charging) and a redirect of Ultima onto Ryan. Excal noticed the quick plan, and so opted not to heal Alma (Quick missedin the end, but the risk of a Hurricane negating both M-Barrier and Cure 3 is pretty nasty). I demied Altima. Auto-Potion failed on Ryan from Ultima, but his swords were enough to start round 2.
Satan revived from the conversation. Alma got the first turn of section 2 (Reraise, then cast M-Barrier again). Elfboy charged Haste on Altima; Excal cancelled the Haste with a Staff thwack. Ryan got one attack off then died to something. At this point, Ryan said we should probably start trying to revive him now, since both of us have low percentages hitting him. I started a sequence of failures. Excal landed one more Life Drain before he felt the need to join in the effort. In retrospect, instead of missing several raises, we could have just hit Altima with gravity twice more, but oh well. In the mean time, All-Ultima gets locked onto Alma and redirected onto Altima. Anyhow, raise hits on the last possible moment, and then Altima Grand Crosses both Excal and Ryan, hitting Excal with Petrify and Ryan with Confusion. Around this time I decide that blitzing is the best option, so start trying to get Demis in on any turn possible. I get my next turn, it's pointed out that Elfboy is at 0CT and my only move is to revive him, so I do so. Confused Ryan runs up to Elfboy and...uses an Antidote on him. Elfboy charges a Meteor to kill Ryan to avoid the risk of me hitting both Altima with Demi and Ryan with Demi (lots of damage and a cured confuse at the same time). This also guarantees Altima will go for me, and she does with a Grand cross. This one whiffs. Altima then goes for Ramza because she can kill him in one hit. I get a Demi. Altima uses Grand Cross causing both Petrify and Slow. Alma Deathspell 2's me, curing the Petrify but not the Slow. Altima uses Despair 2 on me to cancel Shell/Protect/Reraise, then physicals me for non-fatal damage. The slowed calculator gets a turn, and realizes that the only way she can hit Altima with demi for the win is if she also hits herself for a fatal demi (only 46% thanks to Ageis Shield).
Demi hits me and Altima, leaving only Alma alive. ...And Satan because he has one more line to say after the battle....
