Persona 3: The Speedrun <-- approved by Tonfa. Clearly

Okay! So I fought the tables without Asparsus. Came out victorious, battle took 13 minutes though. Not happy with it. Also had to waste lots of valuable items here and there to keep the team alive. So, second try, I went back and dungeon battled several times until one successful run where I pick up Asparsus within 2 fights. Total time spent? 3 minutes. The battle then was, lock everyone down, target one with Rakunda, beat it up until it dies. Repeat. This took around 6 minutes or so. Much better. I even saved two minutes as a bonus.

So! Time for...Change Relic. First, commentary from chat:
<+Tide_> What's the next boss anyway
<+Nitori> Floor #36 Boss : Change Relic
<+Nitori> Has things like POIZN Mist and Magarula~
<+KittehPamela> Probably one of the easier ones then?

And, now the actual battle results and facts!
* +Hatbot --> "Tide_ rolls 131/159 and gets 0.8238 <-- Damage to Minato
* +Hatbot --> "Tide_ rolls 185/130 and gets 1.423 <-- Damage to Junpei
* +Hatbot --> "Tide_ rolls 113/170 and gets 0.6647 <-- Damage to Akihiko

Values in relative percents! 1 full HP bar is 1.0. Yeeeeaaah. I am heal locked by freaking POIZN. Rest of my party is 2HKO'd from Magarula. Not only that, Change Relic is durable. I got him downt o 25% once. And then he thought it was funny to spam Magarula every turn. I ran out Bead Chains and died D:

In short?

"Death is a hunter unbeknowest to its prey"  x5

Yeah, Muckdiles are really retarded but for some reason I still find 'em cool, don't ask me why. Also enjoy the rest of the floor, you're probably going to have a blast!

Pokemon Platinum: Got the 5th badge, finally! I should continue my major grind/cruel time session, so that I may completely dominate the rest of the game for no adequate reason at all. ...Yeah. That's all I got for now. Also where the fuck is HM04.

Play Ventrue and use guns first time through I say, it is what I used and it is pretty standard shooter gameplay with solid talky talk, pretty much the reasons Rob gave.

Or Toreador because you are super queer (and they are probably easier), Celerity is broken, max it out.  Dominate is good, you can get by with 1 point, but 2 and 3 are not unjustifiable either (more I would skip, they do things but I can't justify the cost).  Presence is useless unless you are stacking defense, but who gives a fuck.  If you do stack defense though and use Presence you can fuck things up pretty hard, no one can hit you.  (I do not reccomend this route to fighting though.  Fenrir suggested it though back when he was playing it, so milage may vary).

Malk is awesome, but very VERY replay bait.

Guns are just great fun. Not so much real early on when all you have is the .38 special (though it DOES make shit real exciting) but once you get a steady supply of shotgun ammo it becomes great fun. Also, there's something about a Dracula in a suit with an SMG that just does it for me.

Speaking of first playthroughs, I read a post on a GameFAQs board a while back from a guy who made a Malk as his first character, and the threat was basically "Tell me what the fuck happened in this game I just played." I very much enjoyed how he referred to everyone by their Malk name ("Alabaster Princess" or "One After Eights" for example).

Satan FFT

Complete (no, really).

Balk II:
Excal drew the ace.  His setup was Knight with Yin Yang magic, Flame Shied, White Robe, and Defense Armlet--which we had determined to be better than White Magic since he could status the Tiamat first turn, and since Life Drain ignores evade and Excal has good compatibility it's actually our best Balk offense in a lot of ways.  Ryan was going with his Geomancer, Icebrand setup rather than his Ninja setup.  I was going for Speed 7 and vulnerable to lightning rather than Speed 6 with Rubber Shoes.  Elfboy opted for Red Shoes over other accessories.

Ryan teleported in and killed the Hydra.  Excal moved next and showed his hand by draining Elfboy's MP (no Meteor).  Elfboy used Slow, lowering Excal's speed from 10 to 3.  I used CT5 Paralyze hitting the Dark Behemoth but not the Tiamat.  We were all being very careful to stay out of Excal's range, since Speed Break on any of us could be devastating (moreso me, but still).  Ryan failed a Teleport to kill the Tiamat, so killed the Hyudra who had attacked him instead.  And then failed the teleport again, so hit the Chemist (bad compatibility and not weak to ice and stuff).  Elfboy decided to give the Countermagic Quick loop a try twice--both times missing the 91% Quick on the good compatibility target, but getting Countermagiced and Quicked himself; this did largely burn his MP and turn him into an item-bot, although he tried to Slow Balk a few times.  Eventually Teleport stopped failing and Ryan killed the Tiamat who had been dancing back and forth Tripple thundering Elfboy (usually hitting once for 140 thanks to White Robe, causing survival and an Auto Potion).  Slow wore off, Excal finally got a turn and decided to use Sleep on me--in retrospect it should have been Petrify, though in-practice Sleep missed anyway.  Ryan hit him while he was charging.  Next turn he charged Petrify, though was now in kill range for Ryan.  I had Best compatibility with the Chemist, and between my Holies, Ryan's physicals, and Elfboy's Staff Thwack he went down.

At this point it was three people against a Dark Behemoth and Balk.  Balk was in stupid mode, so we didn't need to deal with him directly.  I had bad compatibility with the Dark Behemoth, so my Holies weren't really chipping much.  Ryan was also bad compatibility (same sign as me), and over 300 HP, which meant that he could actually survive a counter-attack, so in the end he just physicalled twice, which was enough once combined with several Holies.  But now we needed to revive Excal again, and in doing so Elfboy moved into Balk move+attack range.  (In the mean time, I H-Bagged Excal in the back, since he revived with 13 HP and H-Bag is guaranteed to deal at least 14...which is exactly what it did).  Unfortunately this combination means that Balk was able to shoot at me again next turn, and typically 2HKOs me.  A series of defensive moves followed until I was well out of his range, then I worked on getting everyone Pray Faithed and Hasted.  Balk evaded Slow from Elfboy three or four times, and evaded Pray Faith from me (after I was faithed) several times.  (The Dark Behemoth dropped a crystal, so we were trying for a Faith-Faith meteor).  Finally Faith hits Balk, Elfboy goes in for the double-Faith Meteor, which hits for 480 against Balk's 490 HP.  Fortunately Balk was standing on height 7, so I was able to finish him off with Height Prime Number Holy.  By this time our X-Potion count, thanks to two people with Item and Auto-Potion, was down to 14-16, so there was some debate as to whether Ryan should head to a height 2 pannel to grab the treasure chest, and risk Auto-Potioning again....

Hashmallum:
Satan never got a turn (me).  Ryan and Elfboy both removed Auto-Potion as a reaction to save X-Potions.

Altima:
Both Elfboy and Excal went for Golden Hairpin and Light Robe.  Elfboy's reasoning being Quick Countermagic loop (I also went Light Robe to fuel Countermagic).  Ryan smashed Altima.  Altima locked a fatal Ultima onto Elfboy.  Elfboy drew the ace, and opened with Quick on an Ultima Demon (with the hope that it would kill Alma before M-Barrier finishes charging) and a redirect of Ultima onto Ryan.  Excal noticed the quick plan, and so opted not to heal Alma (Quick missedin the end, but the risk of a Hurricane negating both M-Barrier and Cure 3 is pretty nasty).  I demied Altima.  Auto-Potion failed on Ryan from Ultima, but his swords were enough to start round 2.

Satan revived from the conversation.  Alma got the first turn of section 2 (Reraise, then cast M-Barrier again).  Elfboy charged Haste on Altima; Excal cancelled the Haste with a Staff thwack.  Ryan got one attack off then died to something.  At this point, Ryan said we should probably start trying to revive him now, since both of us have low percentages hitting him.  I started a sequence of failures.  Excal landed one more Life Drain before he felt the need to join in the effort.  In retrospect, instead of missing several raises, we could have just hit Altima with gravity twice more, but oh well.  In the mean time, All-Ultima gets locked onto Alma and redirected onto Altima.  Anyhow, raise hits on the last possible moment, and then Altima Grand Crosses both Excal and Ryan, hitting Excal with Petrify and Ryan with Confusion.  Around this time I decide that blitzing is the best option, so start trying to get Demis in on any turn possible.  I get my next turn, it's pointed out that Elfboy is at 0CT and my only move is to revive him, so I do so.  Confused Ryan runs up to Elfboy and...uses an Antidote on him.  Elfboy charges a Meteor to kill Ryan to avoid the risk of me hitting both Altima with Demi and Ryan with Demi (lots of damage and a cured confuse at the same time).  This also guarantees Altima will go for me, and she does with a Grand  cross.  This one whiffs.  Altima then goes for Ramza because she can kill him in one hit.  I get a Demi.  Altima uses Grand Cross causing both Petrify and Slow.  Alma Deathspell 2's me, curing the Petrify but not the Slow.  Altima uses Despair 2 on me to cancel Shell/Protect/Reraise, then physicals me for non-fatal damage.  The slowed calculator gets a turn, and realizes that the only way she can hit Altima with demi for the win is if she also hits herself for a fatal demi (only 46% thanks to Ageis Shield).

Demi hits me and Altima, leaving only Alma alive.  ...And Satan because he has one more line to say after the battle....

SaGa Frontier: Superhero antics abound as Red really gets into his Alkaiser role - "Feel Heaven's punishment and all that!" Also, didn't realize that Asellus had known Red as little kid. This makes for an adorable mental image and it's nice that they managed to squeeze that in even though they obviously are never going to touch on the subject of Red and Asellus ever again. I'm going to assume that this is supposed to imply that Red's hometown was Shrike?

I'm slowly starting piece facts together that are obvious once you've played a few of the chapters. My favorite bit of information is the fact that Orlouge was gallavanting around Shrike trying to find Rei while she was hanging out in Devin as a shrine maiden... He obviously needs to figure out a better way of tracking people since he wasn't even on the right planet...

Still haven't beaten Rouge's side of Blue's chapter. Do I get a real ending for doing this?

Rei has the ability to defeat Orlouge's tracking since she reincarnated. From what I gathered, the hunts for Rei were pretty much needle in a haystack sort of affairs.

No, you don't. Blue's ending isn't finished.

Persona 3 Speedrun - VICTORY IS MINE!!!

And Change Relic goes down. The key to victory was Alp; a low levelled Persona that resisted Wind, making this battle much more managable. The fight is 90% about keeping Akihiko alive since he's the only who can put out damage. And of course being in Great Status, critical hits to speed things up. The remaining 10% afterwards is Item Management and keeping MC alive. Junpei is utter deadweight, but still worth taking if only because Change Relic might decide to do something like physical attack him to relieve pressure off the main group of 3. Zio's random chance of adding shock can also be a great asset. The fight is still around 10 minutes however. But in 6 fights, I've only lost once after I got Alp. So, pretty neat. Now to just beef up the party a little bit before the next full moon.

Oh man you hadn't played through as Malk yet Shale?  It is exquisite.  There is a reason I held the guys at Troika up on such a high pedastal.  They can just write fucking amazingly.  Combine that with the stellar VA in Bloodlines and it is quite a play through.

It really is a terrible shame about the bugs and the gameplay at the end of the game.

Yes, Red lives in Shrike. And no, regions are not planets.
Also, I think Orlouge's problem in tracking down Rei is that even he founds her, acn he bring her back? She is about the same stregnth as him, and has Kylin backing her up.

Regions do not Planets? They what's the void that they keep traversing between Regions? And the GameFAQs 'translation' of the Essence equated them to planets, so that was the assumption I was under.

Rei's suppose to be that strong?  I figured her little trick of getting out of Facinataru made her weaker, given the sacrifice was like dying and being reborn?  But maybe its cause she joins so late with such bad stats (68 HP, and iffy base stats? The fuck?)

Isn't Asellus by the end of her quest also suppose to be close to Orlouge in power too for that matter?

To Meep: Rei is weak because she undergoes her growth all over again whenever she reincarnates. She doesn't lose her power, just she needs to grow back to that point again. But nonetheless,  I simply don't see Orlouge has the power to deal with both Rei and Kylin the same time. And yes, Asellus got closed to Orlouge's level by the end.

To Djinn: No they are not planets. And that FAQ was written by someone who gathered my notes when I was still on SF1 board and is full of mistakes.

Ah, so basically Rei's in a recovery phase; figured that was at least the case.  And Kylin is pretty bad ass, so yeah, do agree that Orlouge wouldn't really stand a chance if Rei is as strong as you claim.

BvS: I make it so I can get a board and pull it off well enough. I put in 20K into the place and overall things are going well. Everyone more less heeds me and plays from other people are limited. Then someone thinks it good to appear near dayroll and steal my score to get the boards for themselfs.
I am of course angry at this because I don't even know who did this and they have basically stolen 20K off me. While my Kage will proberly just give me some Ninja dogs to sell off to get the money back I am still angry as this is just plain rude.

First of all: It's cool that you've been involved in translating information like this for the masses for so long! Secondly, I can understand the FAQ's mistake since I'm still having trouble seeing the difference between "Regions are like tiny worlds" and "Regions are planets".

Is there an 'official' who-meets-who detailed in the Essence anywhere? For example, a lot of the official art seems to picture Blue with Lute and Riki - is it canon that he joins up with them on his quest? I ask because there's the official artwork of Red and T260G but I'm pretty sure that Red can't get T260G in his chapter? I'm also curious if there's a 'canon' event storyline, too. For example, is it canon for Lute to go on any of the Gift quests or to recruit Kylin or something like that.

Lastly, do Gen, Roufas, or Nusakan have any extra background information that you could share? I just don't know -anything- about them, but they seem like important players in the SF1 world.

Eh can't remember the last time I posted here >.>

SMT- Did I mention I'd reached the first Dante fight yet? <.< Anyway yeah fun fight despite the fact that every time I've nearly defeated him he starts multi turning and spamming Bullet Time like a mad man. Is there some sort of haste spell in this game (one I can get)? >.> Other thoughts Thor was suprisingly easy on my refight with him with enough chakra items due to his damage being easy enough to handle in the sense of preventing a game over since he preferred to use ST. Seemed slow too. Despite that the fight was epic! in the sense that the entire fight near ran me through my full stock of demons both party and inventory leaving me only with BOB! and Asparas left. Hearts to Asparas's lightning absorb ^-^

Nope, all the "get multiple turns in a row" skills are enemy only, even if you get the monster that uses them. Other than that, no real haste skill.

I think Dante always leads into his murder spree with Provoke? Once you see that, your best bet is to blitz. He will remove debuffs on himself and can lower your defense, so your best bets are Sukukaja for evasion and Makakaja if you have it to make your magic more devastating.
