Knights in the Nightmare: Scene 08 prep. Levelling in previous maps really helps but I'm peeved because I barely get any L. Knight weapons and they are quite possibly one of the most versatile units in the game for their ability to attack in all four directions, but I suppose that's to avoid breaking the game with an all knight team. Duelists may serve as replacements due to their placement ability in their Chaos attack, but still. Their Law attack is also pretty similar, so. Also I finally figured out how to get the Gram to work! >_< The danmaku is also getting heavier and heavier though years of shmups have help me in dodging it easily, so xD

CT: As previous posters have said, Focus kicks all sorts of ass so do not forego it for whatever reason xD
19:35:58 (trancehime) there's a specific spot in the game that's for item duping
19:36:14 (Sanae) o.o
19:39:11 (Sanae) I'd love to dupe a second trancehime.

It's a browser-based online RPG that's totally not Naruto.

Totally not Naruto.  Or Death Note.  Or Code Geass.  Or... well, I think you get the picture.

Also, done.  And if you wouldn't mind returning the favor in a day or two, I'd appreciate it.  Not until around this time tomorrow at the earliest, though, I got Mr. Tea today so the Note won't work for a while.  If you can make the difficulty, I've gotten some really nice monster drops so I've got insane range.  *hugs his Polar Star, among others*

Knights in the Nightmare- I officially hate this game. They key item for Mellisa as we ll as the second last boss are on map 5 and 1? This is beyond crappy and silly. Yeah, second run is a must. And.... Mellisa is a huge pain in the ass. For the love of god, why does she have to appear so often? Broken damaku is not fun!!! I can't imagine how insane Marrieta would be in the second cycle.

Ouch.

I do not have this Focus. Am I supposed to have it by default or something? >.> If I did then I don't remember ever having it and I don't have it now >.> Did I miss it!?~

Thanks guys. I went with OK's advice and taught my main Tornado, Force Boost and War Cry. My recently evolved Inugami has Fog Breath so that takes care of that side of things. I also taught my main Fire Boost in the levelling up spree I did and a skill that turned out to be MT Panic which I psyducked at and then levelled up again to replace it with War Cry. Teach me to learn skills when I can only guess at what they do!

Here's what my main looks like now -

Fire Breath
Fire Boost
Tornado
Force Boost
Mana Drain
War Cry
Counter
Tarunda

Last night I also created an Inugami with Matakaga and Sukaga which as said evolved later due to the amount of levelling I was doing in main game building process >.> My Nekomata also levelled up ... and Tai's right that thing *is* weird. I levelled up some more until it learned Mazanma, which is cool. My evolved Inugami of course also has Fire Breath as well due to it having it already as Inugami so my team is now packing a fair bit of magical arsenal *^_^* Yay~

Yeah, they get purged from the system after sixty continuous days of inactivity.  I swear I told you this at some point, though.

Good job on the Polar Star, Yakko.  I'll just have to make do with my first alt's Regalia.

CT: It would have been one of the first skills on that first Magatama, IIRC. However, you really don't -need- it to make physicals awesome, Freikugel is still brokeded at full buffing. Focus just makes it shinier. (It is a bit more damage, yes, but with buffing it's not as noticeable.)

Sadly, you can't go back and relearn old skills you got rid of, so.

Also, yeah. Status is not useful for your team, but it is for the enemy. Irritating, that.

And oh well. I suppose I'll just focus on getting to 130 in Maple then. (80% to go!)

Otherwise, starting Suikoden Tactics soon.

Disgaea 3: So I unlocked Class World, which is like Item World for PCs but with less stupid. Decided to give it a spin to level up some generics and accumulated six thousand mana in one go. Six hundred seemed like a lot before that. So yeah, mana complaints rescinded. This is clearly the mechanism they intended you to use for building it.

So you artificially create a resource scarcity, add in another randomised dungeon grind to "solve" it.  Design is law, how far we have come.

I wish I had a Regalia. Not just for the range boost, but for the extra attack per day. About to finish Burgerninja, then all I have is one last piece of wasteland gear to upgrade and the Tote, this season.

Eh. It's pretty obviously an exploit for aftergame grinding, in fairness. Gripes about mana availability aside, I haven't needed anything more than I get through plot battles to proceed, and haven't come close to getting a game over. The only levelling I've done is to make sure some reincarnated generics got up to speed (because I tend to keep an army of generics around in Disgaea games even though it's patently unnecessary). This may say more about the game being too much of a cakewalk for the player to be impeded by clunky mechanics, of course.

Oh, I've got one of those too, but considering the number of times we've taken out the Storm Riders that's not uncommon in my village.  The last time they showed up they lasted an hour and a half. <_<

Baldur's Gate 2: Still dawdling about in Chapter 3, finishing out random quests as I stall for time to get the banters in the PPG DeArnise Romance to run past the point I need to be outside of Spellhold. Should be getting pretty close.

BvS: Hit Special Jonin today. Yay. Am working on achieving Shikai in the reaper missions.

World of Warcraft TCG: Realms Qualifiers are this weekend (tourny to qualify for the big regional one ~Nov) are coming up, so I've been striving to fine tune my decks/get a new working concept. Traitor Warrior has proven incredibly effective for me, but its also fairly common these days, so a lot of tech exists against it. Also, I know there is at least one deck locally that I really can't beat with it (Desecrator Control). If I can get either of the other decks I have hanging around (Black Ice Myriam [Needs to get some actual playtime] or Ashley's Traitor Rogue [plays well, but she hasn't found a draw engine that works for it yet]). Tonight will hopefully be a chance to play and get some more testing in.

Draft last night was bad. Pulled two decent rares that I needed (which is always a plus), but got stiffed otherwise. New format threw off my normal draft logic, and I ended up straddling both factions to the point where my ally base... sucked. Match 1 I simply got outmuscled at the end. Despite some sexy plays on my part, too many large allies eventually choked me out. Match 2 was a bye. Match 3 was bad luck for Ashley, as I proceeded to pretty much hit a perfect draw (which included a significant amount of card draw to dig even deeper).

Yakko, I'll give it ye good ole college try tomorrow when I get into work and have my stamina back.  Madly trying to grind through ^*&)(*@@!() Shift Manager of DOOM.   Three days straight of grinding that SM and I still can't make them all.  I have a base range of 16 in everything so it should, in theory, be possible for me to do this.  May have to just lay off this one this season if I can't manage it tommorrow.  I still have to get The Note and at least try to get Sannin before my loop counter starts to go into Season 3.

Yeah I've heard how hard that mission is for people. I think I may not be able to do it myself, not because of the range needed (I have 19) but because the allies do not drop. I have more or less all the Knightframe pieces but no allies.

How did you get them may I ask because after 7 days I start to feel I'm doing something wrong :(

I haven't done any BurgerNinja at all yet.  Started on Monochrome yesterday, that should keep me busy for a little while at least.  Then Wasteland again probably since I'm season 3 now and can actually do stuff with Runes.  Though Wasteland is going to be a pain to get started in without the I Win button, since I'm not Legacy this time.  Oh well, base range this season is much better for me than last time, so maybe it won't be so bad.

Edit: also I hear it has subpar graphics for the generation. Spread the word.

A history of bad design does not give a free pass to continue with bad design.

Edit 2 - Disclaimer for below, remember that I suck at fighters.

Edit - Oh yeah Soul Calibur 4.  Mitsurugi seems a lot more smooth and comfortabley playable this time.  I just wish his... must be Neutral vertical wasn't so amazingly horrible (super short range generic vertical jab or something... no longer a slash at all) because I keep accidentally doing it when I am trying to do forwards verticals.  Oh well.

I kind of miss the strategy game thing.  The special gameplay mode this time is probably the worst since Soul Calibur 1.  Doesn't unlock any weapons either (not that SC1 had any), doesn't... really do much of anything, can get you a few equipment pieces for the Dress up mode?  Meh.

Also final boss can just get fucked.  I would rather fight Inferno with his 1/3 damage health bar (that is super vulnerable to throws) than Algol.  Spammy fuck can just poke you on the ground until you are dead.  I watched my brother screw up the first hit and just get perfected from it one time.  On normal.  Bullshit.  And why the fuck he has a Samus rip off move is completely beyond me.

Oh, right. I've been meaning to respond to you, Cap'n K.

Firstly, not sure if you've heard this or not, but a quick elements breakdown; elements only attach to your Triangle-based attacks, and which Triangle attacks they attach to depends on character. For example, Zuo Ci attaches elements on his S-S-S-S-T, his S-S-T, and has limited attachment on his S-S-S-T. Keep that in mind; these finishers will usually as a result do more damage. Some people don't have great element attachment (Lu Bu) while others do (Zuo Ci).

Attach Slay/Flash to all weapons you use. If your guy juggles well, add Fire/Air; if not, add Bolt/Ice. Bolt/Air is good on a few people, and there's a few other combos, but those are the primary two.

Range only applies to "melee physicals". So lasers, tossed weapons, etc., don't get the boost (this being said, max Range doubles your weapon's range. Very nice). Might and Brave work best on generals when used together (2.0x if you're using both and fighting a general; normally Brave is 1.4 on generals, Might is 1.4 in general. If you need to skimp on one, skimp on Brave.)  Agility is pretty good but some people have some glitchiness with it. Generally shouldn't be a problem. (Sima Yi is the main one I remember with this issue.)

Rage is practically useless. Drain isn't that good unless you've got massive area with your attacks to hit as many grunts as possible. Same for Absorb, but Absorb has usefulness a bit more for the people who use their Musou bar.

As for people, I don't know who you're using; if you want character-specific advice I can try to provide. If you want to know anything else I'll try to help.

Honestly?  I just spent a couple of days grinding.  That is the truely obnoxious thing about the BurgerNinja missions.  The allies don't teach you jutsu you can use so you're pretty much going off raw stats.  grinding~

*sigh*

I opened Monochrome ths season but gave it up.  I simply don't have the range yet.  Maybe in Season 3 I can try again.  Wasteland stuff's kind of fun.  I can't do anything with the items yet, but I sure did a metric ton of grinding missions to get supplies before I started the BN missions.
