In any case, trying to change the first ingredient in the recipe invariably tends to yield positive results due to often triggering new recipes. Good thing the only ingredient that matters for those is the first, anyhow.

Having played AI, you kind of get used to shuffling stuff to discover new recipes, the other games have like no indication at all.  So yeah MK is a step up there (which probably saves the Grow Book from abject failure to be honest, holy crap decent design choices being made in games!!!).  Odd that it didn't show up on that one.

nwreck. I thought for a moment this was VP2, but apparently the people at Atlus just have marguerita nights with Taniguchi.

Actually, it is just Kaneko being serious, really.

Yes he is, DDS2 is like a Kanekofied Hinduism tale that's told in the most in your face fashion possible.

Translation: Hinduism is the most fucked up trainwrecky religion ever.

(I wonder if even your average Hindi believes this.)

Either that or Kaneko just does drugs for breakfast. I'd bet on a solid, nourishing mishmash of both.

Seconding various P4 comments: Yes, Nanako is awesome. Thoughtful, curious and responsible. I approve of these traits in children! Also seconding Amaterasu hype. Yukiko gets the prettiest personas ever.

VC: Normandy was grueling. I've got in the habit of failing miserably on each map and then coming back with a better plan, and this was no exception. Had to do the save/reset dance a bit near the end because, hey, there are two tanks, I'll just circle around behind them oh god you piece of shit ace trooper stop dodging 80% of what I throw at you. Hitting him in the face with a missile was very satisfying. Even with that out of the way a couple people got KO'd because Lancer accuracy fails mightily and Largo repeatedly missed hitting the tanks at point blank range. I guess this'll teach me to exploit Orders more often. ...And after all that, it was a pyrrhic victory. Thanks, Sega. Anyway, other stuff:

-Gregor = Boris. Inveeeencible!

-Jaeger = clueless. Dude, I don't care how bravely you fight for them, the empire is not going to grant independence to your homeland. This is diametrically opposed to what empires are all about.

-Attack Down is the most annoying status ever.

Anyway, suspect I'm getting a tad behind in levels (since the enemies are all elites now, and Varrot said something like "If your units are elites now" in the briefing before the Normandy mission), which wouldn't be a surprise since I consistently get D's in the post-mission evaluations. Will probably grind to get all classes to level ten (they're at eight/nine right now) before going to retake Bruhl.

Well, many stuff is suppose to represent what happened into Hinduism myth. Like the Seraph fusion supposedly is a homage to Shiva and Parvati. And there are more complicated stuff on the philosophy and etc.

Final Fantasy XII: The hunts turned out to be harder than I expected. Heck, the whole game is harder than I expected. I'm also experiencing some serious money problems.

The game is mostly fun, but I can't say I enjoy the "run away" sections. Just because the game has an engine that allows you to design chase scenarios it doesn't mean you have to abuse it.

Vaan has improved considerable and has of late stopped being an idiot entirely. Penelo is decent, but so far seem to exist only as a foil for Vaan. Basch and Balthier are cool although Balthier sometimes has the problem of trying being cool to hard. Ashe is currently annoying me. Fran seems cool enough, but I'm getting the feeling that I don't want to meet the rest of her race. Overall, not to bad, but not particular good either.

Now, more about Fran's race. The veiras have longer lifespans than humans and have sharper senses including magical ones. That does sound a lot like elves. Balthier also says that Fran differes in that she chooses to work with a human which would mean that the rest of her people does not. Considering that the other races seem to have very little problem with mingling with each other, I get the feeling that the veiras have attitude problems.

I recently assembled the whole party and I'm supposed to find some royal crystal or something.

Chrono Trigger DS:  grabbing all the sealed chests.

Age of Empires: Mythologies (DS):  did all the normal scenarios thanks to Sigurd leeroying through a ton of Minotaurs and Chimerae.
