Nah, Data Serph isn't a megadouche, he's about as personalitiness as his silence suggests. (Or he is super-awesome leader and girls flock to him because he's a self-insert. Take your pick.)
Oh yeah, gaming~
F-Zero X: Master Mode continues to kick my ass, though I've come very close on Joker at least. Oddly, on the higher difficulty levels, the cups reverse in challenge, I've found - the more technically demanding courses I am up to the demand of, and they make it easier to kill other drivers on. Whereas I find it extremely hard to keep up with the best computers on the more straightforward races.
Fire Emblem 7 - Up to Living Legend on EHM, still 5 stars in everything. Levels are in the low teens generally. Never made it this far in EHM before. This isn't getting too much of my time at the moment, but it's nice to actually blaze a new trail in the game for once.
Final Fantasy X - Up to the Mi'ihen Highroad. Being careful to Overkill anything that drops Ability Spheres helps a lot, and usually there are fairly painless ways to do so (e.g. Dual Horns, use Dark Attack -> summon Aeon -> boost twice -> Overdrive). Game remains an absolute blast. Tidus is... rather unlikable at first, definitely, but he's very believable. Wakka is terrific. Lulu is a bitch (though awesome gameplaywise, OHKOs everything and gets some overkills). Yuna... she's still mostly potential at this point, naturally. Game does lots of little things right with setting; no other game seems to capture those small details as well.
Mega Mans - MM6 is pretty mediocre. The adaptors are annoying, the stage design is pretty much series-worst. Also wtf at the slow screen scrolling. It's eternally the only Mega Man I mostly just want to get out of the way when I play it. Oh well. At least Knight Chain and Flame Blast are cool weapons. MM7 is next! Kill me now.
Wild ARMs XF - Yeah, borrowing a PSP and this. Up to... 1-13 now I think? Plot's been not as bad as I expected but not especially notable. Clarissa's a bit of a hybrid between Ramza and Jude; probably isn't as good as either but I'll still take this over most RPG mains. Labyrinthia's neat, Levin's a brat but one with potential to be a decent character, and Felius has finally gained a purpose in recent chapters. Charlton seems decent when he's not eating babies, and he needs to stop eating babies because Edna and Rupert already do anyway. At least Edna deserves note for being one of the most physically unattractive female henchmen I can recall. And at least it continues the WA tradition of having lots of villain scenes and actually having them interact.
Gameplay, on the other hand, is what we actually play this game for, obviously. It's obviously modeled itself after FFT, which is pretty awesome to me. No other SRPG follows in FFT's footsteps as much as this game seems to, and that includes FFTA from what I've seen of it (fail, FFTA). It still manages to do its own things, and even has a few advantages over FFT, like how it handles randoms, and the sheer variety in its battles... not to mention that PCs are allowed to have personalities after they join. The fact that you have to re-equip whenever you class change sucks, though, and I don't understand why it doesn't wear its mechanics on its sleeve a bit more, the way FFT did (mostly an issue because it'd be nice to know before using Slow Down or Encourage what the turn gauge would be turned to). Still very sexy, and already I could easily see replaying this game, which is very good.
Clarissa - High speed, high magic, great OC. She's currently sitting in Elementalist for me. Sacrifice's damage is absolute rape, and she's fast and gets the job well with elementals otherwise (granted, no better than a good generic here). Encourage is hax at times, too. Generally feels MVPish.
Felius - Not sure about his unique stuff, I haven't used it too much. Upper Hand's his only OC I use much. Good enough I guess. Sitting in Fantastica at the moment, or going back and forth between that anyway.
Labyrinthia - Good OC, bad stats. Revive is nice, Warp is nice, Replica is nice, speed... is not. Good magic at least but only barely better than Clarissa.
Levin - Really fast! With a decent class and skillset, although the only real standout is Turn Cancel. Currently in Sacred Slayer. Yeah, I like fast healers.
Tony - MOBILE AND TANKY. He's like, Lowen or something. No skillset and bad offence though. On the other hand he's the only reason I beat that swamp battle, after I let Labyrinthia get picked off by the boss.
Secutor - What FFT knight wants to be. What Felius' Halberdier seems to want to be too, for that matter. Really damaging at melee.
Elementalist - Beatdown class (awesome damage vs. weaknesses, which almost everyone has), but lacks mobility, especially since they can't move and attack. Combos well with...
Fantastica - Lets people move and attack. Also slows enemies down, and makes melee fighters better with Invoke. Nice.
Gadgeteer - Healer. Pretty good one, with speed and so on.
Sacred Slayer - The other healer. Can run out of resources but no items needed. Less mobile/fast, but tankier and they have Turn Shift. Yay.
Excavator - Mobile! Not sure what else to say about them yet.
Sentinel, Geomancer - Haven't really used yet. (Just fought the first battle you're supposed to use Geos in).
