ZoE2: Hard mode.

Hard mode is hard. Enemies can (and do) gang up on your ass and grind you to a pulp. Fortunately once you figure out how to deal with them they are slightly easier. Mummyheads are still HATE when two of them get lasers going. Might as well stick a fork in it and call it done then.

Despite the difficulty, its still extremely stylish ZoE combat. Flashy, and successfully gives you the feeling that you are in control of a god-mech.  Even if it is a god-mech getting spam-raped by unmanned enemy mechs.

Dashing behind an enemy at point blank range, switching targets, grabbing another enemy, and beating them to death using them as weapons never seems to get old. Grab is such an awesome default sub-weapon...

Subterranean Animism: Using ReimuA, and hitting a wall on stage 5; so, time to bomb more. Fun game so far, but nothing special for the series from the scrub's perspective other than non-red powerups being utterly useless now.

Edit: Also, the Stage 3 unicorn-girl, whatever her name is, is doing a weird thing where she refuses to drop stars sometimes as a midboss. Jerk.

FFX:  After I got tired of the magical ability to play water polo at any save point in the world, I decided to progress with the plot!!!  Unfortunately, this was not immediately possible due to MASSIVE RANDOM ENCOUNTER RATE.

Finally, after crossing half the Sphere Grid from all of these random encounters, I encountered 1x Plot.  Then I overkilled Sinspawn Gui.  Then Seymour, who is obviously a good guy, joined me.  And we overkilled Sinspawn Gui again.  Poor Sinspawn Gui.

XS - Holy fuck, the execution on Cherenkov's arc is good. The character himself and the backstory behind him aren't even anything truly impressive, but the way it's conveyed and foreshadowed rules face. The scenes are surprisingly visceral, and I dig that. Gameplay-wise, abusable slots are still abusable and now Shion has Medica Rest, while KOS-MOS slaughters everything with L4 R-Cannon. Life is good.

FF7: Soon, I shall face Palmer!  But for now, I have just saved outside of Rocket Town.

Also, god damn it Vincent, why did you have to get a 255% Hit weapon this early, making Deathblow actually good on you ;_;

In fairness, that..is something you should do with Vincent anyway, if you use him (Why you'd use him, I don't know; I'm using him for stat topic purposes, etc.), since of all the PCs, he needs some reliable action that isn't Fight, given his Limits.   But I'm not sure people give a shit about Vincent anyway...for good reason...so yeah.

KH2: Just beat Steam Boat Willy Arc!  Now I'm up to probably the most boring part of the game.  I mainly say this cause they give you Wisdom Form...and your next destination is either SING ALONG FUN TIME! or an area where there is like 0 Heartless, just a bunch of undead pirates with an annoying quirk.

...ok, so most boring part doesn't really make sense there, but fuck if it was a way to inspire me to turn off the game for then.  Mrf, figures, its right before the really fun BIG MASSIVE HAPPY FUN TIME WAR, complete with killing 1000 heartless, hope the Goofy might die, and Cloud getting his emo failure ass verbally kicked.

LoD - Reached near the end of disc three with my Kongol/Rose/Dart team. Decided to start my Meru/Albert/Dart team ... defeated Virage, went to save in Home of Gigantos ... and overwrote my Kongol/Rose/Dart file >.< Oh well at least the Albert/Meru/Dart team seems better anyway. They actually managed to defeat Lenus without bandit's equips where for Kongol/Rose/Dart that was massive slaughter from Lenus.

Meru's natural speed advantage over the other characters is noticable in this fight. Her speed enables her to keep up with the healing/reviving items more so than Rose and thus prevented the party from ever being completely wiped out. She also evaded Lenus' physicals when it mattered too which was nice.

No Rose Storm abuse from Albert either since I wanted to do the fight w/o that as well.

Koudelka: The combat, it burns us, Precious!

On the plus side, though, how many other games have a PIE stat?

Incidentally (because Koudelka is totally so hard that screwing up is badness), healing hits PIE, so you probably don't want to make it too terribly badass.  Also, generally speaking Vit is a god stat (def and HP, etc), and specializing in one offense is the best route, although if you actually find equips they tend to have a fairly obscene effect either way.

Making Magic horribly badass helps mitigate PIE healing issues some, but yes. Also, you're likely to break the game if you find equips at all.

*Had so many equips in his playthrough that throwing out pieces of elemental armor for inventory space was common procedure.*

At the same time, ignoring it entirely is a bad move, cause PIE is what's used to determine your MP (much like Vit determines your HP), so for your main mage(s), you'll want to raise it every now and then.

PCB Easy?  Use SakuyaA!  Bomb a lot!  If you punked SA Easy that badly, I'm fairly sure you've got what it takes.  Okay I haven't actually played either game on Easy but still.
I've used SakuyaA before; think I've got as far as Resurrection Butterfly, but was 0/2 or something....

Koudalka's Piety is jacked up pretty high just for the MP reserves, since she's the team mage. She stays in the back row so as to never get hit by physicals and is practically magic immune, so I rarely have to bother healing her.

Also: Edward, stop breaking your weapons. Argh.

Kinda depends on setups, there. I made James my speed god gunner/buffer/healer, myself, and I left Edward with melee weapons. That may explain why Edward was my LVP, since Koudelka was the godly do-everything mage.

My game, Koudelka/Gunner, Edward/Melee, and James/Magic.  James had awesome starting MP, IIRC, which is why I opted to make him the Mage (though, everyone else seems to go with Koudelka, so I guess I'm special?)

Anyway, Weapons keep breaking and it sucks if you're trying to specialize in a weapon class for that reason, unless you get shit loads of that one weapon.  Frankly, I think its a factor of the system everyone agrees just fucking sucks.

I had Koudelka/Mage, Edward/Gunner, James/Melee, myself. Had Edward in melee from time to time as well, but with things like rapiers and light weapons while James was using hammers/axes/spears and the like.

Oh, this also brings me to the point that speed is a great stat to boost, too. My speed-twinked James like 3-2ed everything in the game after a certain point, and you should always give at least one point per level up on it for every character.

I have a tendency to do two mage characters (cat's eyes seem to be a really common drop, and give ridiculous magic bonuses.  Apparently they break easily, but why would you attack with them?)  Edward then smashes with whatever's available.

That was my strategy too. Koudelka was the attack-oriented mage, James was more of a healer but could smash well enough too.
