SN: Wins. Map 42 right now, going to finish this today.

I'm guessing you've gotten to the unexpected twist?

Anyway, from this point on, the story gets a little convoluted, but still fun.

And more importantly, Demon Path opens up to you, which is just a fun little exploration of mind-rape.

SSFTHDR - Got this and have been playing, getting my butt kicked as I was expecting (for all my experience in games, I'm not very good at many of them). Have two ranked wins, as Chun-Li against Balrog who didn't have a decent anti-air defence, and Dee Jay against a fireballing turtle Ryu. Am maining Cammy and the Shotos, though.

Duke Nukem 3D - Up to the Queen, about to beat the game.

I've actually got a Street Fighter poster hanging in my room :)

Anyways, I just picked up copies of Wild Arms 3 and Eternal Poision. I didn't preorder the game, but they had extra collecter books so they gave me one anyways :)
More on how these games are later.

MK-Chapter 4! I like how they just all of a sudden dropped a bunch of recipies and new materials in my lap. Gonna be spending some heavy duty alchemizing time. The game continues to have a complete lack of challenge. I guess I'll have to give Pamela and Flay a spin sometime as well.

GH3-Paint it Black rules. That is all.

If MK isn't challenging enough for you, try fighting at night instead of during the day.  If you're doing that and still walking all over it... well, can't help you there. >_>

Out of curiosity, in broad terms, how does the day vs. night thing work in MK?

In really broad terms since I haven't played it in a while, enemies seem to have much better stats at night.  It's the same enemies, but they do more damage, take less damage, and are generally just more buff.

If you mean timewise, time passes while you're on a field map that would have enemies on it, and there's a timer on the screen.  If you explore long enough, day turns to night and then back to day.

Running around in dungeons causes time to pass. After a short amount of day time it becomes night, and monsters move twice as fast on-screen (it's one of those 'randoms are visible' games) and have stronger attacks, though the HP and defenses are the same as far as I can tell. It's mostly just to make you hurry up if you have to go somewhere. You are given an item way early that lets you teleport back to safety at any time, and doing so resets the time to Noon.

I don't know if there's any advantages for going exploring at night, or if there are night-specific quests or whatever.

There's never an advantage to exploring at night, it's just a hard mode really.
That said, some of the later dungeons are too large to explore before nightfall, but if you're worried about it you can stand around until daybreak.

Night time enemies do get a defense boost (actually all non-HP stats are doubled), but since defenses have a +200 on them, the boost isn't as notable.  Especially early on.

Some gather points get different items depending on what time it is, so there is an advantage to exploring at night.  No advantage to actually fighting at night though, outside of more challenge.

Kimi no Yuusha: Reached Episode 16. I fought the third demon king person thingy twice, Zeros. He is Fire elemental (...) and while is durable and damage-dealing, really wasn't as bad as Phobos was. Zeros' best damage was probably Crimson, which deals around low 2HKO. He doubles if he uses only physical. He also has his MT fire spell which is pretty painful, too. Zeros 2 has Scissor Twist added to his repertoire, which is a mid 3HKO but also adds the Armor Down status, which you don't really want. Crimson runs off MATK but it makes his double physical more painful. Basically, you just debilitate him with debuffs and buff yourselves up. It's tried and tested. The boss battles tend to be kinda monotonous due to this nature.

Best damage this time is actually not Dranko anymore! At least if you factor in skills. In terms of physicals, Dranko still kills things. Anyway, Tio now outdamages him with Circular Loop Hexa! Raw damage of that is around 3200, where Dranko's Silent Assault does around 2900~ raw. Buffed... well, that nearly hits 4000 for both, which is a huge jump. Star Memory twinking is fuuuun.

Devil May Cry 3:

Completed DMD.

Went in with about 25 Large Life Stars and three Gold Orbs into Stage 18, came out with 10/0 at the end(used like two Devil Stars. I don't like 'em in this. Odd, I did in DMC1.).

In case you're wondering, the break down was 6 to Arkham, 3/the Gold Orbs for Virgil 3 and six FOR THE WORTHLESS AS ALL HELL DAMNED CHESS BOARD. Arkham I was somewhat lazy on, Virgil 3 I just wanted the game over by after he devil triggered on low life the second time or so(He did this about five times, not counting Super Judgement Cuts-which of course still healed him, mind, they just aren't the same. This was just the low life jerk-you-around DTs that kept you from finishing him off, mind.).

Chess Board took six Stars after a very thought out and planned strategy. To hell with that fight(Excuse the pun.); I think it's the most stupid out of any fight in any action game I've ever played, on DMD. No, game, fourteen Devil Triggered enemies is not a good thing.

For the hell of it, I went back in with Super Sparda/Quicksilver after clearing, and started beating on the thing. Darned if it didn't somehow manage to, in a straight up slugfest, knock Super Sparda-which regens constantly, like a normal DT, while DTed, unlike Super Dante-to half life. With Quicksilver's timeslow on constantly. And DTed. That says a lot.

Also finished up Hard with Virgil today. Corrupted Virgil's cool, very different from standard. Too bad it's just a DT unless you clear DMD for him. (And...well, I may do that. But I'd use Super Virgil, unlike what I did in DMD for Dante.)

Finished Kirby Super Star Ultra.  The stone ability made the fight against Dedede and the last two bosses ridiculously easy in the True Arena mode.  It makes a big difference when you can block every single attack without taking damage.

Bah, real men use non-cheap abilities!

Like Plas-wait.

(I don't think True Arena was designed with lower end abilities in mind so much anyways.)

As I said, not designed for weaker abilities. >_> Stone is awesome and it's still not a complete pushover(and requires a lot of patience.).

I think it took me like eight or nine with Plasma or something. I forget exactly.

ROTKVIII- Became prefect of the capital as everyone else got shipped off elsewhere. Then after all my hard work the allied forces decide to strike and crush at least five cities before reaching mine. Even though out numbered three to one by the enemy I was able to hold out for a whole month and push back the allied forces. How do I get rewarded by the Dong for saving him? He takes my prized weapon and tells me to attack the allied forces for him.
I decided I wasn't going to take this shit from him and so I started a coup in the capital and stole the emporer who is now in my care.

One of my officers also found the imperial seal and so now I have it for use later. Currently I'm fighting the Dong and Ma Teng. I manged to capture Ma teng so he's now dead.
This had the side effect of me becoming the mortal enemy of his whole family, but like I care. If his family comes then they'll join him in the ground.

BvS - Became a Sannin.

Spoilers!

Spoilers!

You get the idea.

DQ4r: Finished.

It's a solid, shiny remake of DQ4 that cleans up a lot of relics of it's age. The interface, the battle system and the overall presentation are upgraded. Highly recommended if you're a fan of DQ4 and the bonus material makes it a slam dunk. Getting to help Psaro beat the ever loving piss out of Aamon isn't that special, but hey, you get to run around with the final boss in overpowered PC form. Win.

Fuck whomever gave the bonus chicken and egg duo the casino music for their battle theme, though. I already had that seared into my brain. >_<

CTDS:

So I gave into temptation and youtubed the new ending.

Oh fuck that shit.  Out of all the possibilities you have the party beat on Lavos/Schala a bit and then get plot bitched away. Boo. Couldn't we have something better than a downer ending? I appreciated some closure to Magus/Schala, but really. Bleh.

0/10, will not buy CTDS.

The classes have gotten more interesting due to weapon unlocks for pyro, medic and heavy. Heavy in particular has my favorite new batch.

On the flipside, Valve has made a bunch of shitty community-made maps official in an attempt to spice up the rotation. Hell of a backfire there.

Overall, it's about where it's always been.

Agreed. What the fuck was that shit? Who the fuck got that idea, anyway? "Let's put in a new ending and then have it end with someone WALKING AROUND IN THE WOODS AND NO SENSE OF CLOSURE." Oh, but we learned stuff that we already knew from Chrono Cross.

SN: Finished. Gameplay was a lot of fun overall. You can go two ways: Play it mostly straight or do inspections and smash the hell out of it. The choice is really yours, the is very good about not making fights obnoixous or unwinnable. The drawback is that the demon path gameplay's boring- some of which is just the system getting old at that point, and how broken it is at higher levels. Basic system was a lot of fun once you just worry about winning and not leveling everyone. The room system's kind of eh. I don't like the lack of control with how limited room locks are and how annoying it is to get some rooms, but oh well. Lots of extra stuff to do in general but it's all skippable. Game finished up about at the right time lengthwise too.

Plot/characters:

The cast is pretty standout across the board. Levin and Gig stand out in the human path, as does Endorph. Man, the stuff once Levin's revealed is a hell of a gutpunch. Layna's a bit of a twat but is basically trying to do the right thing and unfuck the world. The source of the world's problem is it's saviour (Median) who kills Vigilance, basically sends things to hell. The world eaters are responsible for Scarlet Iago as well. It's fun times. Drazil is responsible for WE's and he's a fucking asshole who rightly gets owned by Vigilance/Gig/hero in the end. Hell of a redemption for Endorph, who goes from insufferable wanker to hero. Levin's good, his sister's good (I love that in the end for all of Levin's bluster he's got some good in him, same as Gig). Levin 's ending was damn good for that. One of the main themes of the game is salvation. Everyone gets it in the end, with the exception of Drazil (dickhead) and evil path hero in the undefeated ending.

Evil path path had two real heartbreaking scenes- Agrippa's execution and Tricia's rape. I'm not a fan of Agrippa but that was still so very, very wrong. The stuff with Tricia you could see coming but it was still so wrong. Poor Shauna. It's not a surprise she went mad in the end in the evil path. The evil path also makes Danette a good character as well, something I did not expect. Plot flow was pretty wretched, but what was there is still good. Favorite ending's probably Endorph or Levin's female main ending.

Even the bit characters like Vitali and Cristophe were good. Vitali's scene with Tricia after her father dies is pretty solid. I love the 'uh oh'. I could go on, but it's all good pretty much here. Even Dio kicked ass on the evil path. That was fun.

9/10. Could be a 10/10, maybe.. eh. It's hard to say, I'll come back and look at this one more when I finish chewing on the plot some more.
