WA3 - Mmmmm, meet the Prophets. Melody is... um... shallow. Malik is kinda creepy even -before- the mommy issues begin surfacing, and I have no words for Scaly Jany Cascady. I loved the Angolmois fight if only because the gimmick is funny. "Hey use the only damage spell you have on that new medium you got it's kinda unintuitive on bosses but try it out". Then you use it and you realize how long it'd take to kill the bastard without Grav (it'd be perfectly possible and kinda reasonable! Because Angolmois damage is epic. But damn, that'd be more tedious than Ghaleon). Gotta love Gravity.

FE6: Was going to play more FE10! But I didn't want to play something I could get too involved in given we were having people over tonight + fridays = hell for me in general, and this was going to be worse than usual, etc.  So yeah, decided to play something a bit simpler!

Beat Chap 12 Gaiden.  Tried Chap 13, got my ass kicked when my PCs decided it wasn't ok to kill a certain Wyvern despite the high hits, and said Wyvern managed to hit Alan with a Horseslayer at a 54 Hit ;_;

Grim Grimoire- Beaten. Fun enough game, although really short/the battle system devolved into "Summon giant thing, Smash" pretty quickly. Endgame score was a 6, since the good part was hampered by extremely robotic VA. Now back the old "Finding a game to play" issue!

SRWC2:3 - Finished.

823 turns, so nowhere near the cutoff point as I expected. I considered interfering with the save files to see if I could get it but I decided that I couldn't be bothered. It's just some level versus old!Char or something anyway.

Final Boss was Neue Regisseur (obviously -_-). I have a picture up here for people who want to see him in bad graphics and/or his flagrantly ludicrously high stats. He thought he was going to smite people with his 6700 power attack but a classic speedkill strategy put paid to that. Interestingly enough, that health you see him on there is after nothing but two attacks from Dancougar, after which I prodded him with triple beam cannon for the win.

Game went out of its way to irritate me by reassigning pilots for no good reason and it was aggravating. Especially when they pull things like putting Shiro back in Ez-8 in a level in the final scene. That 1450 attack power that can't actually hit anything is such a godsend.

In any case, C2:2 is pretty clearly the best of C2. Unfortunately it's been so long since I played C2:1 that I can't really say whether C2:3 is better than it or not...

WA3 - Sequence-breaking is fun. Yum, Secret Garden abuse. I'm essentially maxed out on Heal Berries. Would've abused Potion Berries, but sadly I spent all the ones I had to beat the Secret Garden sidequest boss. Annoying ass. On the bright side, Mini Carrots for all hype. Plot advancement? What plot advancement?

Soul Nomad: Well. I've, uh, been playing a lot since I last posted here. Finished the main path. Apparently I was all of like three battles from the end last time I stopped. The final...uh, I beat it, and then the ending started, and I was like "Wait...that was the last boss?" I mean, it wasn't the most pathetic final I've ever encountered, but I was never in danger of dying. I don't think I even lost a squad. Wait, no, the boss did nuke one before he got swarmed. Eh. Still sad given that I went to no effort to powerbuild (most units had levels in the late twenties) and didn't even bother to exploit Decor items or Gig Edicts. I gather I got the basic Mega Happy normal ending; hero doesn't wind up with anyone in particular, people who were dead are back to life somehow (even if they had their soul consumed by a demon. How the hell do you recover from that?) I guess this is vaguely spoilerish...but I'm trying to be vague! Dammit, we need spoiler tags here.

Anyway, the real challenge is apparently to be found in the Evil path, which is what I'm working on now. The enemy levels ramp up higher than the PCs' do through normal combat, so yeah, I have to be careful again. Managed to get by without any major levelling binges (Thuris was rough, but coming in with the right decor items did the trick)...until just after the Raide battle. I glanced at the setup for the next one, and...lessee: Danette, Levin, Grunsford, Pinot, Endorph, Vitali, Dio, plus a mookswarm, all in the sixties while my guys are mostly loitering in the forties somewhere. Oh, also, level 124 World Eater Feinne. Blugh. Yeah, uh, definitely gonna grind for a while before tackling this one.

As for the Evil path on the non-combat front...oh my god. It is so hilariously wrong. Seriously, I haven't laughed at a game like this in years. It's so warped, it's hard to believe you're actually seeing it sometimes. You wantonly slaughter all the game's heroes, the game's mentor figure, random civilians, mostly out of boredom and the blue-haired shotabait cheers you on the whole time. The perversion of all that is good and decent is utterly thorough and cringe-inducing in the best possible way. When the child-stealing slave-trader is the voice of reason, you are dealing with one fucked up party.

Mmm. This game demands an avatar fad. At first I was inclined to pick Danette just for Potato Potato Potato Potato or "Special Attack: Mommy, I'm Hungry!" However! Evil path Galahad is just too freaking awesome. Between selling me fake hair-care products and singing Simple Minds, I'm not even sure where to begin quoting him. Prism. Beige. For. The. Win. Kanan is also an option! Crazed fanatic constantly amused at the erosion of all that is just and pure in society and laughing maniacally all the time! Like Niu, I have a soft spot for such women. >.> Hmm. Decisions, decisions.

Also, I should say right now that I will be whipping people into playing this. Super! Want to try it when I'm done? C'mon, it's OB driven by a CTB system instead of an RTS one!

Is this evil path open from the beginning, or do you have to unlock it?

It's open after you beat the main path. You start a new cycle in typical N1 style (all your generics, levels, and items carry over), and now have a choice early on in the game where you had none the first time around. It took me around twenty-nine hours to get through the main game, incidentally. The main game is also awesome, of course, it's just that the Evil path really stands out for doing everything RPG mains should not do ever.

I was actually planning on playing this, and since billy is way too slow in finishing his Warlords campaign run.  I am going to Gamestop tomorrow too....

Better finish that writing then.

Evil path is... epic, yes.  If that's the fight I'm thinking of, I got through it by abusing that high level knight that shows up to help out now and again.

Soul Nomad: Making a very nice paperweight.

Grim Grimoire: Sometimes I wear it as a hat.

Persona 3, Wild ARMs 5, all Gamecube games, Suikoden Tactics, Suiko 5, Tales of the Abyss, Phoenix Wright series: I can't be bothered to take the 20 seconds it would take to dig them out from the pile of games. So, obviously, there's only one option.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance!

Version Alpha: Just cleared Hot Awakening, 44 missions complete. Average party of 7, with 3 up and coming Assassins about ready to join the main force with Sniper, White Mage, and Archer secondaries respectively.

Version Beta: Herb Picking clear. Average party of 25, all items gotten. And on a completely unrelated note that in no way hints what Version Beta actually is, does anyone know where I could find a Gameshark or Codebreaker code to fill up the monster bank without maxing all their stats?

Currently in the DS: New Super Mario Bros: I think I've unlocked all the levels. Now to find the secrets and get all those coins...

Currently in the PS2: Activision Anthology. <3.

Phoenix Wright 3 - Imported it since I was tired of waiting for the European release. I think I'm close to finishing Case 2.

Tekken: Dark Ressurection - Aw yeah portable Tekken. Kills time like no other game. :)

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - Uhh... I'm at the forest place? Kinda been on hold since I got PW3.

More Settlers!  I have now won 6 or 7 games in a row I forget, so my previous comment seemed to be wrong.

IWD2- Chapter 4 or something, haven't been in the mood to play it lately.  The battles are okay, but I really miss having a cast that actually has interaction and all that good stuff.

And count me in for the fad.

BTW, yout line up for the second to last battle in demon path is inccorect. There is no Levin. He is in the fight afterward.
Also, don't get scared by Feinne's level, outside Hp, she is far weaker than average lv.120 characters.

Blah. That's right, Vitali did mention Kanan was actually a guy. Had forgotten (or...maybe I wanted to forget! Crazy women >>> crazy trannies, naturally. Rule of Cid! Pretty damn warped either way anyways). But yeah, I need to find Galahad art when I am less sleepy.

And yeah, you're right. I'd just glanced at the lineup and noticed pretty much every (living) plot character was there. Just assumed Levin was among them (forgot Juno, though).

Ys Book 1&II(PC Engine CD):

Beat both Ys 1 and II.

Generally a fun little game, the CD-quality music(most of the time...sometimes it's PC Engine quality...) helps a fair deal. Otherwise it's much like Ys 4 without an annoying endgame-that is to say, decently fun fluff of 5/10 quality with neither game being really different.

In fact, the PC Engine CD pseudo-merges them(Levels carry over between games, with scaling done to match this.). I'd call them one game, but the changes in stuff like basic mechanics(There are no MP in the first game.) makes me not do that. <_< It's short enough for one game, though. 15-20 hours between the two or something, even so? Yeah.

Shoot the Bullet:

Finished up EX-7 and EX-8 today, clearing the game.

This makes the fourth Touhou game that I've completed(Cleared all modes in EoSD, PCB and IN now, capped all IN cards in spellcard practice.).

Clearly I need to get MoF working. <_<

Defiant of Shrine Maiden: After spending most of the weekend figuring out why the game froze after (9)/Letty (Hate these patches so much), I end up getting stuck on Alice. FLAMETHROWER DOLLS 2HKO or OHKO everyone except Reimu, who immunes it for some reason, so it's probably fire-elemental or something. Not to mention the support and psycho half HP phase, and the fact I still can't seem to find MT healing (if there is even any at all). Oh well, I can't play this for another two weeks anyway. (kicks laptop.)

WA3 - I think chapter 2 is almost over. The third Schroedinger fight took a while longer, but was more controllable than the second without Psycho Crack to screw things up. However, if Maya's limit phase could 2HKO HP tank Virginia at 100FP... um, wow. Not bad for a limit phase that activates at like 66% HP, and the speed's not bad either. The non-limit phase offense needs a bit of work, though, it's some shade of evadable 3HKO? Yeah. Well, at least Todd has a solid, accurate, rather fast 3HKO alongside his Gravity damage, but. Man, he'd so love having Psycho Cracker with that. Still really fun. Gonna see if Full Carrots have blossomed soon.

OS-Almost had the Darkova beast dead, then it used that Poison Mist attack and jumped, which I couldn't avoid because one of those pillars conviently sprung up in the direction I ran. Fuck you Vanillaware.
Don't think of it as a novel. Think of it as a chance to retroactively win every argument you have ever walked away from.

Soul Nomad: Wow, this system is nice.  Gonna take a while before I can exploit it the most to my benefit though.
