Okay! Just gathering up facts/information/plans here.

Going:

Location: Reston VA, where Cideon hangs out. Email him for his address and number, email me for my own cell number so we can all stay in contact.

Plans

-Food. Are we mostly eating out?

-Hotel. Dekar and I are crashing at Cid's, Pyro and Shale mentioned staying at a hotel room. What are you doing Meep?

-I'm bringing a GC and my PSP so people can see the Argath fight of dooooooom. What else are we doing? DC daytrip got roundly shot down so we need to figure out if we have any other plans. Trip to a book store? Game store?

-Weather forcast is clear so far, though that can change.

-Pyro and I will be there.. early afternoonish I think? Depends on traffic. When's everyone else filtering in?

-Washington has a home game against the Cowboys that Sunday, so leaving during the game is likely the best plan.

I'll follow Pyro's lead on hotel plans. Rather not stay anyplace particularly expensive, though; with six of us we ought to be fine without spreading to the room.

Food: After being foiled in my attempts to cook breakfast in Austin, I will brook no such disturbance here. THERE WILL BE FRENCH TOAST. (Yes, I'm f*cking nuts. Live with it, it gets you a meal.)

Gaming: The Cid has Accent Core, I believe, which is the main thing I'd want to bring. I've also got VF4 and SC2/3 for fighting game goodness. If anybody wants to borrow something, put in a request! I'll also have a DS with Super Monkey Ball, for multiplayer Monkey Air Hockey insanity.

Arrival: I have work that day and will plan to leave straight from there. It's about two and a half hours from my place to Reston, barring particularly bad traffic, so I'll be arriving in the 8 p.m. range.

I'm going from Reston to Ashburn (about 15 miles away) to visit family, so I'll leave that up to people for whom cross-state traffic is an issue.

Thought I said I was crashing at Cid's (or at least implied it.)

Eating out is probably a good idea in general, though having something prepared at the base (I assume that's Cid's house) couldn't hurt...plus Shale's French Toast sounds curious <_<;

Arriving...probably sometime in the afternoon.  Will look up Buses from DC to Reston (or that area) to make things easier on Cid if possible.

Activities...well, Bowling I thought was something we agreed on (and is in general a good group activity to boot), and going to a gaming store can't hurt either.  These are things we did at both DLCons after all, and generally worked out both times, so...yeah.
I'd recommend Mini Golf, but its not summer time, and unless there's an indoor place near Cid's, Winter isn't a good time for it <_<;

Games...I'll be bringing Naruto: GNT4 again, and the Freeloader.  If need be, I can probably bring Smash as well.  My PSP and DS (for all that the R Button is busted ;_; ) will be brought as well, with a bunch of random games.  Also plan on bringing MMXCM for Pyro (...which reminds me, I need to go and buy that for him...)

So...yeah, a few odds and ends need to be covered on my end, but nothing big.

There are plenty of good restaraunts around if people don't mind chipping in (I am of that school of thought wherein everyone pays for their own food!) There will also be food at the apartment, of course, though nothing spectacular (expect much cereal). If anyone has a particular request, lemme know before I make a last-minute trip to the grocery store on Thursday.

French toast is awesome and would be most welcome. Note: the Cid lacks anything resembling a griddle. Hopefully that's not problematic!

Yeah, bowling's cool assuming people beyond Meeple and myself are also up for it. There's a Bowl America a few minutes away from my place.

Note: I have only one PS2 controller, so someone chime in about bringing an extra one?

Shale is quite willing to cook breakfast in a regular pan. If the Cid lacks those, I can bring a few (also required: large mixing bowl for eggs, whisk).

I'm not sure if there's a place handy where you could get it, but I'd be looking to make the toast with challah (Jewish egg bread, looks like this), so if it's possible for you to grab a loaf or two of that, it would be quite helpful.

Also, woo bowling. I'm definitely up for that.

Oh, if someone can help me find a bus schedule from the Greyhound stop that's somewhere closer to Cid's house, that'd be appreciated.

I'd do it myself...but I tried and fundamentally failed at figuring out where everything is, etc.  So...yeah, if someone wh understands Bus Lingo a bit more could help me out, please do <_<;

hmm...just wondering, but we could try to run a small music quiz to kill about a half hour or so?  I don't mean a big mega one like at DLC2, but...well, yeah, just throwing ideas out.  No clue how feasible this is; I'd gladly make the quiz again or something (training for DLC3?)

Also, word of warning: I may force people to play Balderdash while here, because it's too rare that I have the opportunity. If no one knows what it is, the Cid will  be sad.

The mini con so far:

Super arrived at my place thursday afternoon and stayed their till Friday Morning. He a) lost his cellphone in my car. Twice. b) locked himself out on my patio. 2/2.

Left my place at ~12:00 and arrived at Cid's about 3:00. Nice long drive. Super got to listen to AT2 Hymnos Concert most of the way. He was thrilled.

Meeple was already there, and we proceeded to demo some games (Odin Sphere, Grim Grimoire, me and Cid are fanboys deal with it). We played some Soul Calibur 2 which Meeple pretty much dominated at despite it being my game. General pleasant chatting and gaming till Shale arrived, where we got to see Guilty Gear matches between Cid and him, which were awesome.

Shale and I split a hotel, while Super and Meeple crashed at Cid's. Saturday morning we watched a corny but awesome china-town movie (Big Trouble in Little China) and went out to Gamestop, taking advantage of the good ol buy two get one free gimmick.

So far so good.

To follow up on what Pyro said: We played a lot of Guilty Gear/fighting games Saturday night, watched Clue and ate pizza. We also ate at Uno's which frankly blew, both for service and price. We got up, went to silver diner at 10, and split up at 11. I got back home at around 3pm or so, and promptly took a nap.


Major kudos to Pyro for his patience in dealing with my clumsy ways (;_;) and Cid for being a great host. He was very cool to meet- low key and definitely fun to hang around. Hoping that Cid comes to the next major con. Also double props for Pyro for doing all the driving.
