Music Tournament of Doom Preliminary Pool 1

Welcome to the No Holds Barred Music Tournament of Doom!  The next several weeks will pit a full 256 of songs selected by you, the viewers, against each other in a happy fun time tournament for everyone!  The rules are simple!
1. Vote for the one you like best!
2. Actually have heard both songs!
That's it!  You do NOT have to have played the game in question, just have heard the song somehow.  You may find these websites useful in this endeavor: Galbadia Hotel and Blue Laguna.  I cannot guarantee every song listed here is thusly available, but a vast, vast majority should be.  Arrangements for the exceptions can be looked into upon request.  If you are uncertain of what a song is, be sure to ask as well!  After all, not every name here has been cross referenced for accurate naming, and not all names accurately reflect when and where they play in their game's of origin!
Each pool will be open for a full week from their date of posting.  Many pools will be running at once for the sake of the tournament not taking all summer, so be sure to double check if you have voted in them all!

Final Fantasy Tactics- Trisection v Final Fantasy 9 - Battle 1: I like Battle 1. I remember listening to it, deciding it ruled, then going out and buying FF9. Trisection though... is second to Under the Stars in "FFT tracks Elfboy actually likes", and Battle 1 ends up outclassed by quite a few FF9 tracks.
Final Fantasy VII ~ Cait Sith's Theme v Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Wheeling Corby: Higher overall quality takes it. Both get points for being a bit creative, but Corby is probably moreso anyway.
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete - Second Overworld v Digital Devil Saga 2: Divine Identity: Not so close.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ The Hidden Village v Megaman Battle Network 2 - And You Will Know The Truth: Huh, both of these are pretty good! More or less a coinflip, but... mm. I could see myself listening to AYWKTT more.

Final Fantasy Tactics - Night Attack v Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle): ... y'know, Night Attack is just kinda plain. Kartikeya amuses me for FITTING SO DAMN WELL. Hence, a vote of amusement.
Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle v Tales of Symphonia - Zelos ~ Serious Arrangement: Zelos is pretty boring, but does get better. Armada Battle is like a lame version of an epic Suikoden map battle theme. And those aren't great to begin with.
Breath of Fire - Tears v Final Fantasy 8 ~ Never Look Back: Neither are that great (or that bad) but yeah, Tears is a bit more emotive I guess.
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Pressing Pursuit/Variation v Final Fantasy VI- The Decisive Battle: EDIT: Whoops, this -is- the good PW1 music. Still not good enough, I like Decisive Battle a fair deal and I think it holds up better outside the game.

Final Fantasy VII ~ Cait Sith's Theme v Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Wheeling Corby- Wheeling Corby is decent. Cait Sith theme is nearly as worthless as Cait Sith himself.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ The Hidden Village v Megaman Battle Network 2 - And You Will Know The Truth- Pass, don't like either.

Final Fantasy Tactics - Night Attack v Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle)- Good vs awful.
Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle v Tales of Symphonia - Zelos ~ Serious Arrangement- Easy.
Breath of Fire - Tears v Final Fantasy 8 ~ Never Look Back
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Pressing Pursuit/Variation v Final Fantasy VI- The Decisive Battle- I like a lot of FF6's music. Exception: The World of ruin map theme post airship and Descisive battle.

Neither is a real favorite, but Trisection is solidly better.

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Pressing Pursuit/Variation v Final Fantasy VI- The Decisive Battle
I wanted PW to get farther than this, but The Decisive Battle is a particular favorite of mine.

Final Fantasy Tactics- Trisection v Final Fantasy 9 - Battle 1 - Probably the best part about FF9 was the music.  A decent enough game, and the music was pretty neat.  The Battle Theme was good enough to not get boring waiting the 40 seconds for battles to load up.  Trisection...I don't remember any FFT music, so...
Final Fantasy VII ~ Cait Sith's Theme v Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Wheeling Corby - Obligatory Naesala hype.
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete - Second Overworld v Digital Devil Saga 2: Divine Identity - For all that I love Lunar1 and the music is fitting...yeah.  Go Divine Identity.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ The Hidden Village v Megaman Battle Network 2 - And You Will Know The Truth - ....  The hell?  Uh...I forget both of them, but wasn't the MMBN song the final battle?  I don't remember for certain the names.  I just remember TP having a soundtrack I didn't care about, so...  

Final Fantasy Tactics - Night Attack v Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle) - HARD ROCK HYPE
Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle v Tales of Symphonia - Zelos ~ Serious Arrangement - ...wow.  Mmm...both songs are really good for different reasons.  Go with Zelos for great sexiness hype.
Breath of Fire - Tears v Final Fantasy 8 ~ Never Look Back - Breath of Fire 1 music does not exist.
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Pressing Pursuit/Variation v Final Fantasy VI- The Decisive Battle - To be a bit different.  Decisive Battle is decent, but...eh.  Doesn't sit in my memory as well.  Just...not a huge impact, partly due to the game.

The lack of Justified from Dead Rising will make me sad ;_;  As does the lack of SC2!!!  It has badass music!

Final Fantasy VII ~ Cait Sith's Theme v Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Wheeling Corby: Cait Sith's theme is hip-er than you.
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete - Second Overworld v Digital Devil Saga 2: Divine Identity: Also known as Brahman, evidently. Anyhow, utter slaughter here.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ The Hidden Village v Megaman Battle Network 2 - And You Will Know The Truth: Catchy yet instantly forgettable tune versus a chiptune causing mild ear bleeding. Alright then.

Final Fantasy Tactics - Night Attack v Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle): Boring vs HILARIOUSLY BAD. This caused me to laugh, it gets my vote.
Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle v Tales of Symphonia - Zelos ~ Serious Arrangement: Zelos is a neat enough relaxing song. Certainly enough to get a vote over OMG EPIX.
Breath of Fire - Tears v Final Fantasy 8 ~ Never Look Back: ahahaha bof1 hahahahaha

Abstaining when I know neither track. May go back and edit later, but right now I'm too lazy. Also, Tonfa kicks ass.

Final Fantasy Tactics- Trisection v Final Fantasy 9 - Battle 1: The FFIX track isn't bad...for FFIX, which doesn't say a lot since I was pretty underwhelmed by the game's OST. Trisection is pretty good, and tied to some important battles and thus has the tingly nostalgia factor going for it as well.
Final Fantasy VII ~ Cait Sith's Theme v Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Wheeling Corby: Cait Sith's theme inspires active dislike. After listening to its opposition, I can say it wins by virtue of just being there.
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete - Second Overworld v Digital Devil Saga 2: Divine Identity: We know how I feel about Iwadare. This is a freaking massacre.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ The Hidden Village v Megaman Battle Network 2 - And You Will Know The Truth

Final Fantasy Tactics - Night Attack v Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle): WA5's boss tracks were pretty much all godlike caliber. Night Attack is just okay.
Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle v Tales of Symphonia - Zelos ~ Serious Arrangement
Breath of Fire - Tears v Final Fantasy 8 ~ Never Look Back: Though neither are really what I'd call good.
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Pressing Pursuit/Variation v Final Fantasy VI- The Decisive Battle: The PW track is kinda neat. Dunno if it's something I'd listen to over and over, but I've never been big on FFVI's boss theme, so what the hell. (Oddly, I do tend to like arranges of FFVI Decisive Battle).

Final Fantasy Tactics - Night Attack v Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle) - One of the more unimpressive FFT tracks vs. a WA5 track that mainly gets points for the fact that it really suits the character it plays to. Otherwise, fails.
Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle v Tales of Symphonia - Zelos ~ Serious Arrangement - Sounds good vs. Bored within the opening bars

Final Fantasy Tactics- Trisection v Final Fantasy 9 - Battle 1: Trisection works nicely in game, but by itself its kind of meh.
Final Fantasy VII ~ Cait Sith's Theme v Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Wheeling Corby: No contest.  Better in like every way, including fitting the cahracter's theme.
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete - Second Overworld v Digital Devil Saga 2: Divine Identity: One of the few DDS songs I actually liked when I heard it in game!
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ The Hidden Village v Megaman Battle Network 2 - And You Will Know The Truth: Ok, the MMBN2 song is a variation of the main theme...except its one inferior to that which just plays at the title screen since the good part is held off.  Its enough to lose to the one song from TP I heard while watching my brother (among like...less than a dozen, mind <_<) that I actually liked!

Final Fantasy Tactics - Night Attack v Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle): Night Attack is one of FFT's weaker battle themes.  Karti's theme I'm not a major fan of, but its hard to deny that its incredibly fitting, which is enough to win.
Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle v Tales of Symphonia - Zelos ~ Serious Arrangement: One of SoA's best songs vs. something a character theme not Sheena's, seems pretty clear to me.
Breath of Fire - Tears v Final Fantasy 8 ~ Never Look Back: Should have known Tears was the song often called "Alan and Cerl Forever!" for some idiotic reason, despite it usually playing for Sara related scenes!  Anyway, yeah, Never Look Back isn't bad (actually, too lazy to check which song exactly it is, but I know its ONE of the two I'm thinking of, and neither are better), but if nothing else, Tear's nostalgia wins.
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Pressing Pursuit/Variation v Final Fantasy VI- The Decisive Battle: The PW Song is pretty cool...but Decisive Battle is just that bad ass.

Divine Identity is the name of the final battle theme for DDS2 for the record.  It also goes by the name of Brahman, if you're more familiar with that.

I'm pretty sure "Sorrow" was meant by that, since it's the closest name and all. Hence it being what I uploaded. Well, I guess the nommer (Twil?) should clear this up.

Final Fantasy Tactics - Night Attack v Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle)- Doesn't make my ears bleed.
Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle v Tales of Symphonia - Zelos ~ Serious Arrangement- Both do nothing for me, but Zelos' theme is also kind of annoying.
Breath of Fire - Tears v Final Fantasy 8 ~ Never Look Back- Also doesn't make my ears bleed. BoF 1's OST may be one of the lowest quality ones around I think.

Oh wow this is a mild trainwreck style of thing. I went to look up the OST to check the track name against the number of the track I have here in question, only to find that I can't seem to find an OST for BoF1? Eerie. There is the recent massive set of BoF OSTs which BoF1 is included in though, and looking through that; I'm not sure that ANY of the tracks I have here are called the same as they are on that. So I have no idea whatsoever what the site I downloaded those are from was playing at. In any case I can confirm that it is Fate that I meant. Interestingly enough the set I have here has a tune called 'Sara' which is that tune and 'Tears' which is that tune with the tinny start cut out, and I didn't even realise they were the same apart from that until this caused me get suspicious about it -_-

Anyway yeah. Fate. Sorry for the confusion.


Final Fantasy Tactics- Trisection v Final Fantasy 9 - Battle 1 - Battle 1 doesn't appear to be as good as I remember it but Trisection doesn't appear to have anything going for it whatsoever really.
Final Fantasy VII ~ Cait Sith's Theme v Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Wheeling Corby - Cait Sith's theme is awful. To be honest Wheeling Corby is not much better.
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete - Second Overworld v Digital Devil Saga 2: Divine Identity - Wins pretty handily, and the Lunar track isn't exactly bad.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ The Hidden Village v Megaman Battle Network 2 - And You Will Know The Truth - Adrenaline versus vague westernish. I will grant that AYWKTT loses something out-of-game.

Final Fantasy Tactics - Night Attack v Wild ARMs 5 - Kartikeya ASGX_7135 (: Battle) - Uhhh... after listening to Night Attack, it was fairly clearcut who the victor was going to be. Then I listened to Kartikeya and found that it was basically just as woeful. Consequently I am defaulting to the most ludicrous one.
Skies of Arcadia - Armada Battle v Tales of Symphonia - Zelos ~ Serious Arrangement - Zelos' music is just as lame as he is.
Breath of Fire - Fate v Final Fantasy 8 ~ Never Look Back - I am struggling to see any appeal in Never Look Back.
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Pressing Pursuit/Variation v Final Fantasy VI- The Decisive Battle - PW tune is pretty natty, but not natty enough.


--Huh, Blue Laguna's BoF1 tracks are all named the same as the ones I had originally (and I didn't get them from there)... and that includes things like the doubling up of Sara/Tears (although they call Tears Alan and Cerl Forever instead). What is this wierdery...
